The following is all jacked from jimijumper's "The Bona-Fide Target Clearance Thread XX IS NOW CLOSED!!!" thread linked below

Previous thread:

XX

Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!

For example:

$4.98
123-45-6789 Random Game Name #12345678

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself.

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

New link to search for items using Target's online item #:

Find In Store

You can also take the DPCI # and search on Target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there.

(HUGE PROPS TO mitch079 FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL INFO!!!)

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:

Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to BigDirty for that^

I am starting off this new thread going back toOctober 1st, 2012 February 2013.
Please refer to the prior thread for any items before then.

:3ds: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars  $9.99

Regularly 19.99(and includes Mario retractable stylus)

It's a tactics/turn-based strategy. I played 3 missions last night and so far hasn't been too bad of a game. The gameplay at least is fun. New gameplay elements are introduced during the first few missions so gameplay gets more complex as the plot (whatever that is?) unfolds.

The game is fantastic. One of my favorite 3DS games. Wish there were more like this.

Card game, or the board game? Apparently there's a card game for it as well, but all I've ever seen at target is this, the board game, which is what I assume you mean:

http://www.target.com/p/game-of-thrones-board-game/-/A-14203908#prodSlot=large_1_1&term=Game+of+thrones+game

That ghost train set has been on clearance multiple times the past year and a half; I picked up a couple the last go round for $23.98 (70% off). I'd recommend locking in one at the current 30% off discount you've found it at if you really want one and attempting a return/rebuy at a better discount in a couple of weeks. Legos on clearance go very fast, even overproduced (and overpriced) sets there might be a glut of, like that one. When it hits the next round of clearance, 50% or more, it will be gone in a flash.
there are quite a few different game of thrones games on the market these days. the one you have linked is the same one i saw on clearance, and is a 2 player card game which i guess is sort of magic-like but without the whole collectible card aspect.

the board game looks like this, and definitely isnt something you would see in target (big box, expensive, way heavier of a game than anything target is going to carry, takes 6-8hrs to play)

agot.png

also theres this

300px-Game-board-Battles_of_Westeros.jpg

also there are at least two other older card games based on it, and theres a new card game coming out sometime this year too.

They were probably $17.98 which is 70% off msrp of $60. Saw a few at my targets. It would be weird if your target already updated msrp to $30 and repriced the clearance to 50% off.
Yes indeed, they were $17.98; my bad. Went today bright and early to see if they were discounted further, but no luck with that. Picked up one copy anyway at that price, even though it breaks my Wii U game purchasing streak.

Just in case the other five remain for a 90% off drop, will Target take back unopened clearance merch if/when it's dropped in price?

you need a receipt and you can get the difference back in price I think. But you should be good on a return, although I don't believe games go to 90%

^ Found The Legendary Starfy at Target as well.

Also saw 3 Skylanders Giants Portal Owner Pack for 3DS: "$15 (temporary price cut, until 1/18)"

Is this game playable with just the single included figure? It looks worth a try, but I don't want to buy extra figures.

:ds: The Legendary Starfy $3.00

DCPI: 207-02-0675
Ooo, bought it for $2 from GS recently but I would totally buy it again for $3 if I found it. None near me though.

No because it doesn't come with the portal to read the figures into the game. Hence "Portal Owner's Pack".

Well, the majority of the poorly priced "Repackage" PC games at the Cool Springs, TN Target have disappeared (as well as the PS3 nav controller I was hoping would drop again, damn). Who knows what they did with 'em...

That aside, no developments around here whatsoever. Lame. I'm not ready to let go of the now-old console generation, but I am ready to see what clearance deals pop up when the real shift to Xbone/PS4 begins.

(edit to add: That same store did have one copy of the Wii U Ninja Gaiden at $17.98, FWIW)

I also ran into a Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Hornet versus Covenant Vampire set for $20.98. I don't collect MB Halo anymore since the the tenth anniversary line, but I could't pass such sweet price!

Target clearance finally comes through for me after months of a dry spell. Sort of... They were AS-IS items. SFxT and Batman AC strategy guides for $1.26. I'm sure they're worthless, but they look good. Especially Chun-Li, Asuka, and Lili. They look VERY good. :bouncy:

But where there's good news, there's also bad news. Found an Assassin's Creed III LE. Price was $129.99. I tried to PM Best Buy's price of $19.99. When the main manager was about to do it, much to his own unwillingness to do it, he noticed something. It was on Clearance. He denied me on the spot for it. I know it was Target's policy, but it still made me mad that he said no. Poor guy was looking for any reason to deny me since the price difference was so high. He told me he was sorry. I said "Don't be. Because I will get that for $19.99. In this store. No matter what."
so heres what I learned today

I went to a target that had the PS3 AC3 LE. Took it up to they CS desk for a price match. Show the guy the price at BB on my phone, he shit a brick. Says he needs to double check on his ipad. Spends 10 minutes trying to get it to work, to which a MUCH older lady attempts to help him. During this, he flipped the box 4 times and she flipped it 7 (I was cringing when I heard the statue flopping around). She then proceeds to use the box as a fuck en arm rest while they both look. He pages a manager because the ipad stopped working. She (continuing to use the box as an arm rest) ask him what the price match would be. He says 19.99. She looks at me and says "Oh, they won't match that. It's too much of a difference. There is no way you will get a price match for something $100 less". I said "that doesn't make sense as to why. A price match is a price match". Manager guy (finally) shows up. It is explained to him I want to price match it and show him my phone. He says "is it online or in store?" I say both. He takes five minutes to mess with the ipad, and then comes around the counter to show me as he explains that

1. a price match has to be an item that you can buy at a store or as an in store pick up

2. Target does not Price Match Clearance Items

3. Item must be in stock at place for price match

I said thanks, and peaced out.

So, if you think that you can force someones hand to get this price good luck. but I doubt it will happen.

So much of this!

I would attempt it just to see if they would do it but I know Target's price match policy enough to know they wouldn't. 1. The item may be $20 but you can't buy it online or go to a store and get it. There is no where in their policy that says it has to be available for store pick up though. 2. They don't price match clearance prices on anything. Which sucks.

Saying they can't price match anything over $100 is pure bs though. I price matched a 32GB 4th Gen iPod Touch for $70 at Target. It was selling in store for $200+. That and their policy says nothing about there being a price limit.

Good on you for trying though and not getting mad like others do when they try to price match.

seriously, I respect women (was raised that way) AND the elderly (again, raised that way), but I laughed at this lady when she suggested that. As if that would be a reason to not price match.

"we price match, but only if it is a reasonable price according to out employees"

I feel for retail employees, though, as that can not be an easy job. and the manager was really nice. I was not even mad, as I figured it was a long shot.

I'm just glad you didn't knock over the magazine rack as you left ;)

closet thing to kick was the dollar rack of valentines day shit and a rack of womens swim suits.

i should let my rage fly more! but it was right before a client and that wouldnt be right would it now? ;)

I had a similar experience trying to PM the same thing. I figured it was worth a shot, but the $100 price difference makes even the most lenient worker panic a bit.

In line attempting a PM for AC3 really want this LE. Had a successful price match on Uncharted 3 CE last year from BBYs price

Edit: shot down because it was OOS online. I mentioned I could still order one in hopes it would help but nope aparantlly to price match at target it needs to be in stock online or in a paper ad.

Amended? I was pretty upset and spoke with a manager as well told me it needed to be in stock online or a paper ad. Bitch how am I gonna get a paper ad for a game that released in 2012? Whatever going to call the other target in my area that has it amd maybe my luck at a CS help line. Anything is worth a shot. When I PMed Uncharted 3 CE the website said "ADD TO CART" But was secretly on the next page unavailable for shipping

No good clearance finds, but in the section were:

$4.88  Princess Mononoke DVD (online item)

$19.99 Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks

Bought both.

Not game related, but I found the Optimus Prime with Trailer (DOTM) for 24.xx on clearance!!! I was actually super happy to find this.

Nothing games wise today at Target. Most of the toys hit 70% off. Found this stashed on the electronics clearnce. I guess someone was coming back for it. Not any more. $23.36 after 70% off...

I've struck out at Target for months now just to randomly come across :3ds: The Amazing Spider Man for $1.78.

I don't think I've ever found a cheaper game there, and I've never paid that little for a 3DS game.  Holy crap.

056-00-0050
Acer 23" monitor -79.98 50%

056-00-0069

First major catch in a long while!

Got:
:ps3: Hitman HD Trilogy $7.56
:ps3: Hitman HD Trilogy Collector's Edition $7.56
Mega Bloks Halo UNSC Pelican Gunship $29.98

Also saw:
:wii: Metroid Other M $12.56
:br: 3D Resident Evil Retribution $11.56
:dvd: Iron Man 1994-95 Animated TV Series Complete Collection $5.06

my Target has had xip for games/movies lately but lots of toys. Got a Spiderman Wacky Wobbler for $3.28 and a Spiderman Funko for $2.68. Not bad.
Hmm, wonder if that Spiderman Funko will still be where I saw it, was like $8 still last week. If it's $3 now it's highly doubtful, especially since I can't remember for sure which store it was that I saw it at.

Those funko figures have hit 70% off at all my targets. It must not be very popular here.

My Target has had several for a few weeks now. My girlfriend picked one up at the $8 price as well, so we both picked one up today and she'll return the $8 one. I'm not a big Spiderman fan but hard to pass up that price.

Same here. Several of both that and the Wacky Wobbler at my Target. Its too bad thats it though, I'd love to score some other Funkos at this kind of price.
