Obama Care Could Be Deadly

I hear you, Bob, and it is not a bad point...but most professional firefighters and police are paid by state municipalities. If I don't like what is offered here I can move.
In a perfect world, I would like to see a system set up similar to law enforcement. Local, state and federally-ran hospitals that operate on different levels. Additionally, I would still like to see individuals be allowed to open private practices that are unaffiliated with the government (short of some basic certification process).

Serious question. Would you be willing to have the government ie taxpayers foot the bill for the cost of medical school (they would still have to pay for college out of pocket)? I only ask because I view doctors much the same you.
To some extent. Basic stuff should be paid for by the individual, but some advanced-level education can be paid for by taxpayers. Teachers and Law Enforcement are a good example. They pay for their own basic stuff. In some cases, they pay for keeping their knowledge current. But, if they want some high-end training, they can usually get it paid for by the employer or get grants for it.

As an experiment, remove all gov't student loans from existence. Would college tuition go up or down? More spaces in classes means lower tuition, right? Maybe we should nationalize tuition, allow gov't to tell colleges how much they will pay em. Hell, nationalize food. We will only pay you 25 cent for these steaks. OOOOhhhhh Nationalize video games. We will pay $3 FOR TITANFALL!!!!!!!

There are lines in EVERY healthcare system. Also, there's this crazy concept called "triage." Perhaps you've heard of it? If you call your doctor and say that you need to see him/her that day because you're feeling super shitty, you don't think you'll have to wait? Or maybe someone with a gunshot would might get seen faster than someone with a broken leg? Have you been to an ER lately?

The wealthy have been skipping the line since forever. News at fucking 11. Like kill3r7 asked, does everyone in this country have access to that?
Not like the lines under a socialist system that is for sure. And guess what under a socialist system of medical care you not only have to wait in longer lines, but you might have to wait in the same line as someone who wants plastic surgery even though you have a more threatening matter than them.

Doesn't matter get in line because there is no priority regardless of how urgent the matter is. Canada is one of the best examples of this. You hear horror stories all the time of people dying waiting in line because other people were getting ridiculous medical care that wasn't even a necessity.

Welcome to Obamacare, these death panels really do exist they just had to lie to you first to get it passed.

Dohdough will keep drinking the Kool Aid but it will just come back to bite him in the ass one day when he realizes what a mistake it was while he is begging for the medical care he truly needs.

I'm sure there's plenty of poor people who would prefer a line as opposed to no treatment at all. But then again your ivory tower counter argument will be that the only reason they're poor is because they choose it or that they're lazy. Perhaps you'd prefer to just let them eat cake.

What's wrong with cake?

You totally didn't read my post at all or have no understanding of the healthcare system.

So I take it that you've never heard of "triage" before. Please explain why a patient that wanted a nose job would have to wait in the same line as an ear infection? This is seriously some bottom of the barrel "common sense" bullshit.

Also, what do you call it when insurance companies refuse to pay for treatment for a life threatening illness?

This is hilarious coming from someone that doesn't understand what "triage" means.

What's wrong with cake?
Can't tell if serious...would not be surprised if you were...

You do not like cake?

Do I take the scotch from another person?
Well, let me spell this out for you since the argument and analogy went so far over your head, that you had to change your "argument."

If someone can't afford to eat bread, how would they be able to afford cake when it offers far less mass per cost while offering less nutritional value?

I did not change anything. You are the one asking questions, I merely ask why you have a problem with cake? Its delicious.

Yeah, I TOTALLY should've gotten that "joke." You guys would rather have those "moochers" starve than give them a tasty treat.

Hint: that is why conservative humor sucks.

The funny thing is, this is the same guy who is okay with someone spending their last $500 on an iPad, but is faux-concerned about someone who doesn't have much money being given cake and liquor. :D

You know, every time you post a troll meme, it just further entrenches the fact that you have literally nothing of value to contribute. You're a 3rd string troll and I've been trolled by better. Keep posting those memes though, let's see what you've got.

Why you so mad bro? Your the one who is getting up all in arms about the cake reference.

I could tell you who 4th string would be...

He is mad because his Lord and Savior Obama is finally getting exposed for the hypocritical BS liar that he is. The only sad part is that it should have been done much sooner but that is what you get for having an ignorant electorate which encompasses people that are mostly like Doughboy.

A) Just so we are clear, this is you admitting (finally) that we more spend on healthcare in this country than in others and that this largely goes to overhead and not to legit healthcare.

B) You are for a system that denies poor people healthcare as long as a separate group of people have busy work to do?

C) Do you mean taxation?
Anything yet?

I read the article, it does not absolve the ACA of forcing citizens to buy products from private companies. See also my post about the lies used to get get it passed. Mental gymnastics complete. He nails the dismount!!!

His bill would have been the very same had the Affordable Care Act never been thought of, let alone passed.

Damning evidence indeed. Derp.

Try again.

I didn't realize that the federal government was responsible for the state's own exchange portals and a private insurance company's administrative duties.

Had my first Obamacare casualty today.

A young woman I follow for a seizure disorder came in for follow-up.  Because of Obamacare, her employer health care plan was canceled so she was forced to pick a new plan from the exchanges.  She ended up with an inferior plan with a high deductible so her visit with me would have be paid completely by her until she met the deductible instead of just a regular copay from her prior plan.  When she found out about this on checking in, she declined to be seen, stating she couldn't afford it and left.

This is just the beginning.

I'm calling bullshit. When I had employee plans we changed them yearly always looking for a better deal (usually with less coverage). This happens with insurance...I am surprised you don't know this (or an deliberately misleading). Ever had a patient leave because their company change plans? Yes Obama was an idiot for the "if you like you plan you can keep it comment" but that doesn't change the fact that this was happening already.

So did her employer drop her? Yeah, that's Obama's fault. ACA doesn't remove accountability. If she had a existing disorder (this would make it hard to find a new plan when her employer dropped her) she would maybe need to have better insurance.

Too many holes.... 3/10

I understand that having health insurance coverage doesn't eliminate the cost of prevenative care, doesn't change the culture around prevenative care, nor does it magically change bad habits into good ones, which is the most important type of prevention.

CBO projects ACA costs higher than initially claimed: "Rabble rabble they're in 'pub's pockets rabble rabble!"
CBO projects ACA costs lower than initially claimed: "Told ya so! CBO says it, so it must be true!"
