Not a deal per se but officially announced, the Xbox One bundle with a digital copy of Titanfall and a month of XBL is up for preorder at amazon. So you save about $60 which isn't bad if you were going to get an Xbox one for titanfall anyways.

I guess I am cancelling this. I just found out that Titanfall does not have a single player campaign. I absolutely loathe multiplayer, so I don't see myself enjoying this game at all.

Were you in captivity the last 6 months? How would you not know that Titanfall is multiplayer only?

Because I'm mainly a playstation gamer so I haven't really paid attention to this game AT ALL. But apparently it's supposed to be some big system seller and I do like mechs. I was planning on getting an xbox one for the exclusives so I thought this would be a good time to jump on it. I honestly didn't know it was only MP until just now. Honest truth.

I also didn't realize this was MP only. I thought it was going to be like COD with a tacked on single player mode. Count me out completely.

Oh, you guys are being serious about not knowing?! LOL. I believe they announced that last summer? I don't see a problem with it, honestly. Most people don't even bother with mediocre shooter campaigns, and it allows them to focus resources. This has something like 15 maps, and that's before the inevitable DLC. I think we've just conditioned ourselves to believe more is better or equals a "full product".

Dat nickel and dime model lol. You can't even play this without a gold membership since you know... It's multiplayer only xD

You Titanfall guys really overestimate the number of people who buy a FPS with the sole purpose of only playing online.

It doesn't bother me that Titanfall doesn't have an offline campaign but I'm not dumb enough to pay $60 knowing that you'll be able to nab it for $40 shortly after release---and it'll have to still have an active community at that point otherwise the game won't see a sequel and will be a commercial failure.

Let's put it this way... I bet more people have finished a COD campaign then Titanfall will see in total sales its first year

considering CoD is on 3 more consoles and is a house hold name, what's your point?

That's like diminishing the value of FPS like BF3 or BF BC2 b/c more people have played the CoD launched that year...

Well people in the titanfall threads have said how awful the COD campaigns are and that the "majority" of people only buy them for the online multiplayer and I'm confidently saying that isn't true and that more people then not have played through a COD campaign in its entirety... since COD4 since that seems to be the gold standard...

Bascially pointing out that their is some serious exaggeration going on in regards to the claims that everyone buys FPS for online.

Apparently Gamestop has a deal where you can get 50% extra trade in value on any system towards an Titanfall Xbox One bundle.  According to Gamestop's website, the Xbox One is worth $390 trade-in.  Couldn't you in theory trade in your current Xbox One for the new bundle and basically get Titanfall and a month of Gold for free out of it along with a fresh console?  If my understanding is correct, that's a great way for those of you who want Titanfall but already own an Xbone to get it for free basically.

I think the answer he's going for is the obvious "Not well."

If you weren't going for anything, the answer is still the same: not well.
was honestly wondering if it started out well or not.

Base on Xbox One is 300 so you would get $450 for it.

These aren't the most accurate stats, but they demonstrate the number of people who complete FPS campaigns is small and decreasing.

http://www.gamezone.com/news/2011/11/03/only-18-6-of-players-have-completed-cod-black-ops-single-player-campaign

Vince Zampella says this: "We make these single-player missions that take up all the focus of the studio, that take a huge team six months to make, and players run through it in 8 minutes," he said. "And how many people finish the single-player game? It's a small percentage. It's like, everyone plays through the first level, but 5 percent of people finish the game. Really, you split the team. They're two different games. They're balanced differently, they're scoped differently. But people spend hundreds of hours in the multiplayer experience versus 'as little time as possible rushing to the end' [in single-player]. So why do all the resources go there? To us it made sense to put it here. Now everybody sees all those resources, and multiplayer is better. For us it made sense."

Makes sense to me too.

I understand his point but its about about the same level of exaggeration as what has been posted in these threads. If you were to look at total sales for a FPS I bet a very small percentage put "hundreds of hours" into the MP (I mean seriously... do people only have one game to play?) and no one "runs through the single player in 8 minutes".

cute though

www gamestop com/trade-values

That says the Xbox One goes for $390, so you'd get $585 for it, unless I'm reading it wrong...
$585 for a used X1? That'd sell some systems!

It says on top of the page that all values shown include the 30% promo. So the base is $300. $390 is what you'd get with the promo.
Oh, ok, I missed that. What really confused me was at the bottom where the fine print is, it basically says the values don't include any promos, but up top it says it includes the promo 30%. It's kinda weird how it contradicts itself on there haha

Yeah, I saw that, lol. I was confused at first too since up till you pointed it out, it always just showed the base values.

Is it 30% or 50%

Is 30% what's currently going on and 50% is the trade towards Titanfall bundle?

I have seen plenty of used units on CL for at or around $400

Apparently Gamestop is offering an extra 50% trade in credit of any system towards an Xbox One. After reading, I thought you could add the 50% to the $390 to make it basically a free Xbox One bundle with Titanfall. I didn't see it already included the 30%. I read the fine print at the bottom which says no promos are included in the values, but didn't read the top which says it includes 30% promo. Since the fine print also says you can't combine the 30% (which I also didn't see) with any other offers, you have to assume you either get the 30% or the 50%.

So at most, if I understand correctly, you can get the new bundle for $50 after trading in your current Xbone. Unless you're in a state without sales tax, that's a shit deal. But if you live in a state where it's just $50 for the game and a free month of Xbox Live Gold, that's not too bad of a deal. It's not as good as I thought, but not awful. But it doesn't make sense if you gotta pay an extra $25-$50 in sales tax.

Seeing some people do it I guess for the longer warranties and slightly cheaper Titanfall's and while not 100% sure I wouldn't think the headset is required to trade in so you could also get that for free.

I too was going to get Xbox One with Titan Fall but only found out recently that it's Multiplayer only so I have cancelled my order as well.  I don't like playing Multiplayer online, i like the campaigns as well.

I would highly recommend anyone looking at this bundle to read this article: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/149-nvidia-gtx-750-ti-unveiled-plays-titanfall-better-than-xbox-one/1100-6417813/

Yeah, I'd be more into Titalfall if it had a single player campaign too.

I did not know either till reading this thread. I bought the limited Titan Fall controller and got the Xbox one with the target gift card. Its still unopened. I guess I will be returning it. I liked Halo multiplayer, but any Call of Duty multiplayer to me gets boring fast.

I find it hard to believe that only 18% of players finished the Black Ops campaign.
What are they doing, only checking for the Veteran acheivement? That just doesn't seem right.

I don't like the fact that Titanfall is MP only either, and if it wasn't for Best Buy's GCU discount, I'd probably wait for a price drop too.
MP only would get boring after a while. Thats why games like Halo are great, with MP, campaign, Spartan Ops and Forge all in one package.

You guys must really suck at MP to cancel your orders.
Yep must have sucked or just the simple fact that once you learn the maps you learn where to camp or get the advantage and it turns into the same thing over and over. I play the multiplayer but enjoy a good story more.

Most campaigns in fps are 5-6 hours and are rarely anything special. MP is what keeps people playing.

And why I always liked the halo games. Could get way
more than 5-6 hours out of halo campaigns. Nothing better than beating the campaign on legendary.

If you enjoy good stories, you probably shouldn't be playing most FPS campaigns.
Then what about Half Life, Bioshock series, Dead Space series, Halo series, and Borderlands series. All FPS with longer than 5-6 hours of story. Most have pretty decent storylines.

Someone compared to this to the likes of MAG? No, just no.
No I did not compare the gameplay, style or anything like that to MAG. I simply asked how well the sales were for another console online only shooter. Please do not try to make this into something its not lol.

Also, to those who were wishing for a PS4 inFamous bundle...there is one. GameStop will have it the same day as release...comes with an extra controller, the game, and 1 year of PS+. You're not saving any money by getting the bundle though, unfortunately. And there's nothing limited-edition about it.

I am just surprised people didn't know Titanfall was MP only...

They have been showcasing that fact since they released pretty much any info on the game.

Those comparing this game to most multiplayer shooters however are sorely mistaken. I had assumed it would be as well but after playing the beta I can confirm that it is not. It truly feels like a different type of game and they do indeed do a good job of making it feel like a more epic single player mission at times. Plus the variance in pilots, titans and then the AI really adds a lot and paired with the vertical movement system it really is not a game that could possibly even benefit from camping around and crap.

I respect everyone's opinions but even just from the beta gameplay I highly recommend you guys at least give the game a chance later down the road when you can get it for cheaper.

Half-Life? Valve has essentially killed that franchise. Half-Life 2 was released ten years ago!

Bioshock, Halo, and Borderlands are all good. Dead Space is third person.

Notice how I said "most" FPS campaigns don't have good storylines. I acknowledge that some are good. But the vast majority of Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, rip-offs, etc., do not have quality storylines. They can still be fun, but they don't have quality storylines, and I don't really expect any different from Titanfall's MP-only campaign.

Aside from the halo series the multiplayer on these games are pretty awful and do not have following compared CoD or BF series. The Borderlands games are a different type of multiplayer though.

Counter-Strike and Team Fortress come to mind but yeah I catch your drift. They are going after a different market.
