New Thread:

This thread has been replaced by TSDT v11

Daily Deal:
Please check the Steam homepage.

Weeklong Deals:
Steam usually has week-long deals that change on Mondays at 6PM UTC. They mostly feature indie games, and may not run every week.

Sale summary lists:

Key:
⤷ indicates DLC, — specifies part of a pack, + shows alternative versions, ⚠ highlights things worth knowing, ♫ is obvious, and ... denotes a multi-pack.

Holiday Sale 2013 | 19/12/13 through 3/1/14:
Days 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-14.

Spring/Autumn Sale 2013 | 27/11/13 through 3/12/13:
All days.

Steam deals on other stores: (Related threads on CAG.)

Indie* bundle threads: (*Not always indie, nor always a bundle.)

Free stuff:
There are quite a few free games (mostly Free to Play) and mods available via the Steam platform, a comprehensive list of which can be found in this thread on the SPUF.
(NOTE: free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.)

Oh, I wasn't complaining. I was bragging :) It was me, my two brothers, and my younger sister. We split up into pairs and pretended we didn't know each other because we needed to get a second one for my one of my older sisters because she wanted one for my brother in law for Christmas. There were like 20 people in the line behind us so we lucked out. And yes, I have a big family.
^_^ Sounded like boastful pride (as it should be).

Cool man. I was alone and got dropped off around 3am, stood around in the freezing cold til they finally opened the store at like 9:30. At least it felt worthwhile in the end, my brother couldn't score a Wii for himself til months later. Some jerks were showing up right at the end and trying to cut in line, this one guy was being a cool ass line nazi and calling out line cutters.

Thanks for the keys, you're a lovely man. :whistle2:

We had some weirdos too. We had one kid literally just walk away about an hour before the store opened and he had been waiting for a long long time before us. We also had one kid try to cut in line but some moms trying to get a wii for their kid yelled them to the end of the line. The Wii was definitely the best console to have at launch IMO. Probably one of the best consoles ever.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I was reading about how the PC and console HD versions are missing effects present in the Gamecube and Wii versions, due to the game being programmed to call for specific Gamecube functions that don't exist outside of that hardware, so no other ports of the game will have all of the effects.

It's not just effects that are missing. The cinematics are all prerendered whereas in the original Gamecube release they were real time. This can be seen when wearing alternate outfits. On the Gamecube the outfits actually appeared on your character during cinemas while on other ports they did not.

Apparently this new version does render the cutscenes with the in-game engine.

That's pushing it, by the spring-summer of 2007 it had grown useless to me, bought a PS3 that July and barely ever touched the Wii again. But oh those hours I spent playing Wii Sports bowling,

I'll admit the Mario Galaxy games are some of the best platformers of all time and RE4 Wii is the definitive version.

Pre-rendered cut scenes do not age well at all. I remember play NFS U2 last year... looking sweet with high res textures & ENB... then cutscene :wall:.

Really? Between stuff like Mario Kart, Wii Play, Wii Sports, Wario, Wii Fit, MLB Power Pros. Even NCAA and WWE on Wii were great. Nothing like mimicking wrestling moves to body slam someone.

I really liked No More Heroes 1&2, Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and finally an actually good Sonic The Hedgehog game called Sonic Colors.

I didn't play most of those, I guess awesome is in the eye of the beholder. One game I spent a lot of time on was SSX Blur, I still listen to the soundtrack now and then.

Oddly enough I got a message while trying to activate a Steam key that the server was down. Tried the key a minute later to get the message "product already owned" go figure.

Random, but why the hell does KFC only offer its sides in small or large portions? I went and wanted medium wedges, and had to settle for large. I ate too much and now I'm gonna puke probably.
I'm still reading through way too many pages of this thread, but I just had to pop in and say that every single time I have eaten KFC in my life, I've had diarrhea the next day.

That is all.

Oh I know. I have a hard time playing PC ports of console games because the videos are usually the original 480p resolution files without any filtering. It's jarring.

That's me with taco bell, after the second time... screw that place.
You're probably sensitive to the cooking oil they use.

But hey, at least it's a good alternative to laxatives!

You have to think positively. When else are you supposed to set aside time for the Pokemans?

2 hours after Taco Bell is the perfect 3DS time :)
I'm a serious germaphobe and I recoil at the thought of my precious 3DS XL in the bathroom with me with poop particles floating around and poop hands AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I would have to bleach the shit out of everything.

In fact I never understood gaming while taking a shit anyway. It seriously is unfathomable to me. But so is touching raw chicken and not immediately washing my hands and bleaching the surface it was on ><.

They do this with new games that have simultaneous release on PC and console, I can't understand why they don't generate the cutscenes from the PC version with maxed out settings, then downsize it for console. They do the opposite instead and it looks like shit, not to mention they always overcompress the video and make it look even more like shit.
