Wait -

You mean you ain't finished ME2 28 times on PC?

Or 23 times on XB360?
Obviously wasting too much time in here.

I know it shouldn't have worked due to the wording of the coupon, but I was really hoping to use that 25% off Broken Age and stack it with the sale. Ah well, I will probably grab it anyways.

Is anyone having trouble sending money through PayPal's "I'm sending money to family or friends" feature? I've never had a problem with it before but it's been giving me this error now since last night:

"I'm paying for goods or services" does not give me any of kind of error. Anyone else experiencing this? Is PayPal locking me out of the option or something?

Sorry, I know this isn't exactly the PayPal thread but I couldn't really find an appropriate forum... I guess the off-topic one but this didn't really seem worthy of its own thread.
I was having the issue, it was on paypal's side of things, the popup even says as much but the email(s) I traded with them confirmed it... The good news, for me at least, is the issue seems to be fixed now.

I'm playing through the Mass Effect trilogy...
They're good games. I think you'll enjoy them.

I'm guessing there's a few stats there that might be yours. ;)

Wtf w/that "most played class" stat...soldier is the last class I would pick to play as. Playing as a biotic was instantly the most appealing class, and was my first playthrough...my other playthrough has as an engineer, which was also pretty awesome. I just never saw the appeal of seeing these other classes in there and being like "well, guess I'll go w/the one that just has access to all the guns!"

Keep in mind - those stats were from when IGN posted the article in Sept 6, 2010

Just finished my 5th 13 hour night of a 13 night stretch. I'll get one day off then have to do it all over again 3 times. I try to skim through the thread to make sure I haven't missed any decent deals. I'd hate to miss out on buying a game I'll never play.

Also, I just purchased a new  [customspoiler=[/SIZE]motorcycle]
Moto-Guzz-V7-Stone-1.jpg

[/customspoiler]

So, that should help distract me from actually playing games when work dies down.

It's cute and all, but unless you absotively positlutely MUST PLEI NAO, it's Tim Schafer. You know that shit's gonna be on a bunch more sales and bundle promotions every time he hires a new employee or runs out of money.

I mean eventually he's going to run out of people who don't have Psychonauts, Costume Quest and Stacking and actually do want it at any price.

No power = no fun. I hate you, unseasonal weather. What am I supposed to do for the next 3-7 days? Read a book? Pshyeah right.
Board games?

Play Solitaire and pretend it's Faerie Solitaire?

I just cant get into board games with just my wife and I and the people I live around aren't nerdy enough to enjoy a good board game. They are more party game people. When I went on vacation with some friends last year we played the Gears of War board game for hours on end, often until the early moring hours. Cranium and Apples to Apples lose their appeal after half a game.

Good point. I have several board games stacked up in a corner in the living room but I think most of the friends I have who visit would look at me like I was nuts if I asked them to play.

Those DVD games can be kind of fun for like 20 minutes but they tend to have a limited set of questions that repeat very quickly and it loses its appeal once you know the answers.

Why not?

There are some fantastic two-player board games and some fantastic multiplayer board games that are very good with two players. There's enough to have a good range of play weights and times. Everything from a basic light tile game (Qwirkle) to a deep card driven game about the Cold War (Twilight Struggle.) Send me a message and I'll gladly suggest some games that my wife and I like playing.

I think BGG needs to offer a service to be able to call up and have some of its members sent over to your house so you have someone to play with.

Post a craigslist ad. Just be sure to specify that you want someone to come over and play games, not murder you.

Not oddly, Japanese players get shafted on PCs for some reason. Sometimes they never even get the games despite them being created by Japanese companies!
Japanese publishers love to squeeze their own people for every cent they have. The japanese version is the most expensive of them all, 79.99$

It's funny because if a visual novel is $10 here people scream but they would shit a brick of they saw some of the prices for them in Japan.

Also the price of anime blue ray box sets in Japan are about 10x as much as the US/UK. But then again we're talking about a niche market where those same types of people buy 10,000 copies of the same AKB CD just to get the handshake passes, so I guess it's all relative.

It's because Japan really tends to adhere to what PCs are for (spreadsheets). They don't believe in littering them with games

Heh. You're kidding, right?

Ever hear of the PC-88xx / PC-98xx computers? Those systems had THOUSANDS of games released for them (quite a few of them were of the adult kind) and they weren't even designed as game systems!

Then again that was in the 80s and 90s. Things have changed since then.

So uh... there's no new daily today? It's still Left 4 Dead 2?

Well... there's always hedonistic pleasures.

Air cooled, and shaft drive. Nice. =)

Well Rest of the World except Japan oddly enough, but close enough.
Rest of World (i.e. everywhere but here) has to be relative to some place. ;)

I'm going to take a second here to give a shout out to a developer that has gone out of his way and supported his game very heavily for the last five years. We all like to bitch about those developers that are horrible, so it's only fair to make note of the good ones.

I just got an update to Nation Red. It's a game that many probably already have, but it's one that's very underrated, and it has come a long, long way since I bought it years ago.

The latest update adds a lot of enhancements, fifteen more achievements, and even a new map. Now that's service! I applaud DiezelPower for the support.

Jeez. I loved the game before it got it first major content patch years ago - I stopped playing shortly after because the update broke all my cheesing secret techniques to get high scores.

I should probably fire it up again.

I do hope more Japanese devs move up to PC development this generation. Its basically the only reason for me to have a home console at this point( well, that and Sony first-party offerings)

The PC in Japan outside of some indie stuff and MMOs is mostly dead for gaming at this point. Even Falcom finally gave up on it and they were one of the longer holdouts still doing PC releases. Some of the developers there seem completely ignorant that a market for PC games even exists anywhere.

I think part of the problem is there really is no good Steam-like service and a lot of games on Steam are blocked all to hell for Japan. There's a few people on the various Steam forums that I see constantly complaining about this but no one seems to listen to them.

The Japanese can be really stubborn once they get something into their head even if it doesn't make sense. I think the powers that be are convinced the market doesn't exist so they make it a self fulfilling prophecy by making games on the PC expensive, inconvenient, difficult to get or non-existent.

So uh... there's no new daily today? It's still Left 4 Dead 2?
Apparently. And on a related note the Japanese also don't seem to get the whole less is more thing with sales driving higher volumes on old games that aren't selling at full MSRP.

I played as an infiltrator because I can't resist a sniper rifle. The stat that's more sad to me is 80% played as a male Shepard. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with him, but the voice acting for fem-Shep >>>>>>>>> male-Shep, I can never go back.

100% of those people who played as fem-shep were male. The females are smart enough to make the right choice.

my first playthrough was male, second as female
