Some kind of "two Popcap games only" sale. Chuzzle is $3.49 (-65%) and Insaniquarium is $3.99 (-60%).
Oh man, I use to play Chuzzle on my old Macbook Pro all the time. Brings back memories of PopCap distraction-gaming in the University library when I should've been writing papers. -65% off isn't too bad but that MSRP is kind of awful for an old (2006) casual game. It's a shame it was left off the PopCap Humble Bundle.

Jake can get and sell it for $2.69. It's not much off but it's something and we're penny pinchers.

Why not?

There are some fantastic two-player board games and some fantastic multiplayer board games that are very good with two players. There's enough to have a good range of play weights and times. Everything from a basic light tile game (Qwirkle) to a deep card driven game about the Cold War (Twilight Struggle.) Send me a message and I'll gladly suggest some games that my wife and I like playing.
Hey gilby, I'd be interested in board game recs for two people. I'm trying to find good games to play with my girlfriend, and not having other people to play with can be a problem. She likes chess, Age of Empires (PC...is there a board version?), and Illuminati. I've never been much of a board gamer myself, mainly cause I never ran in those circles and so I get my gaming fix from just videogames. But like others have mentioned, I kind of detest the board and card games that are popular with non-gamer types, as they get old in about five minutes or less. My gf can handle some complexity, too.

Sorry for the obviously newbish question, but is there a site that keeps track of bundles as they're running? I need to make sure I'm not missing something.

I'm not the best person to ask, I'm more familiar with board/card games for larger groups, but Dominion plays okay with 2.

If I'm remembering correctly, this is a good website for the sort.

Board Game Geeks has a great search feature. Chose mechanic: co-op from advanced search and then sort by votes or Geek rating. Most of them are for 2+ players, but can still be played ok with only 2.

Like this.

And a listing for games that are only 2 players here.

I can definitely vouch for Pandemic, Catan Card Game, and Forbidden Island all being fun.

Yes, yes there is.

edit: the only annoying thing with ITAD is that they include Buy X # of games for $Y as bundles, which IMHO should not be categorized as bundles.

  • Lost Cities is a nice game for two. Doesn't take too long, and there's even an iOS version.
  • While a bit heavier in setup (some good storage options help) Agricola is good, though light on interaction
  • Mr. Jack is a really good deduction game for two players
  • If you like fighting games, David Sirlin has produced some fantastic games
Yomi - Think Street Fighter as card-based rock-paper-scissors with blocks.throws, attacks, and specials of different speeds and strengths
  • Flash Duel - Card-based move and attack. Position is important, but special abilities can turn the tide
  • Puzzle Strike - Like Puzzle Fighter? This is it in boardgame (well, chip game) form

[*]Pandemic - For when you feel like working together to save the world from disease

I'll second Pandemic (but I've never two-person'd it).

Pandemic is a fun game, but it can also lead to conflict when you can't agree which is the best way to save the world, then you fail, and then you have to place the blame somewhere.

Edit: Yes, that's right, I'm interested in all kinds of car games.

ITAD doesn't seem to do Indie Game Stand either. It's close to comprehensive but I feel like every bundle tracker site misses something somewhere.

Honest Reddit Game Deals is pretty good for just the daily at a glance deals without a lot of jibber jabber because they give digital brownie points which seems to motivate people to post every sort of deal available. The downside is it's not just bundles and people feel compelled to post every sale even 10% off new release deals.

There's also a bundle reddit but it's not as well used and seems to miss stuff.

Lots of good suggestions for this so far; mine is Epic Bundle because it updates when bundles get new games, and it shows some of the more obscure ones I wouldn't normally remember to check.

that's what i use...speaking of that site, just looked at it and the new IGS is Gateways, w/a bta game, Adventures of Shuggy. Not too bad.

says the guy who has a shady mustache attached to his avatar that doesn't match his name which is a fake superhero derived from a famous one

So I guess Im all aboard the Titanfall train now. Just got a digital deluxe code for only $45! now thats a deal doe. i guess add me on origin now?  origin- snakemaster2389

I just cant get into board games with just my wife and I and the people I live around aren't nerdy enough to enjoy a good board game. They are more party game people. When I went on vacation with some friends last year we played the Gears of War board game for hours on end, often until the early moring hours. Cranium and Apples to Apples lose their appeal after half a game.
And that's why you need to play Things. It's what Apples to Apples should have been.

The PC in Japan outside of some indie stuff and MMOs is mostly dead for gaming at this point. Even Falcom finally gave up on it and they were one of the longer holdouts still doing PC releases. Some of the developers there seem completely ignorant that a market for PC games even exists anywhere.
Yet Japan gets all the good PC eroges. Explain that!

I'm totally jealous of Japan having a Kingdom Hearts MMO though. Even though it looks terrible, I still want it...

I played as an infiltrator because I can't resist a sniper rifle. The stat that's more sad to me is 80% played as a male Shepard. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with him, but the voice acting for fem-Shep >>>>>>>>> male-Shep, I can never go back.
Jennifer Hale is hands down my favorite voice actor. Seriously, I've tried playing as maleshep so many times and I just CAN'T do it because his voice actor utterly pales in comparison to Hale.

I am a recluse and would like board game recs for either:

- one person

or

- one person and a dog

thanks

Blek. When did CAG get a "See Feedback Left For Others" option? Back when I used my spare Amazon EC codes, I just posted the same "Instant Payment. Credit to CAG." message...17 times. Everyone else left personalized messages for me though. Now when you pull up that page, it just looks.... I feel like an ass.

I think it came in with the CAG 3.0 feedback feature.

about 60% of mine are the same message, about 20% are another message, and the other 20% are varied. you're not alone

Your dog should play as the Princess of Moonbrook since her dialogue all game long is in reference to the fact that she was turned into a dog for a portion of Dragonquest II.

  • Agricola (again) - Like besting your own high score? Play Agricola solo! (ok, so I love Agricola. Sue me)
  • Legendary: A Marvel Deckbuilding Game (and its expansions) - Like Dominion, but with superheros. Build a deck of superheroes as you try to stop the villains from doing some dastardly deed. Great for 1-5 players.
  • Pandemic - While it's a great co-op, it also works well solo.
  • Games that I haven't played but look good and are high on my wishlist
Warhammer 40k: Death Angel - For when you want to kill shit
  • Friday - Help Robinson Crusoe survive on the island
  • Onirim - You're in a dream, man, but can you get out?

Stop stealing Mooby's picture like that!

Woah... Jennifer Hale voiced Rosalind Lutece from BioShock Infinite? I'm kind of blown away as I never picked up on that. Apparently she's also voicing Lyris Titanborn in the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online. Put a check in the plus column for ESO.

162 feedbacks later, mine are almost all the same as well. "Quick payment, easy transaction, great CAG."

She's talented. My favorite role of hers is probably Bastila Shan from KotOR.

She also voices the female Republic Trooper in SWTOR... So if you've ever been considering trying that out (even though it's another MMO with lots of flaws), perhaps that will sway you. Definite femshep vibe going on in that character, though probably a bit gruffer.

Lyris is around for 10 minutes or less and is permanently gone after that unless she's not who I'm thinking of. That's a negative selling point for me, locking Hale's voice away after just that short bit.
