[customspoiler=Basic FAQ]
-Basic Info/Overview
For those that don't know Club Nintendo is Nintendo's loyalty program of sorts. When you buy a Nintendo Console/Handheld, or a Nintendo published game, you get a pin that you can enter online to earn points. These points can then be redeemed for games, accesories, and collectable items. If you earn enough points in a Club year (300 for gold and 600 for platinum, which each have their own reward), you also receive a free bonus only available to a select few. You can read the full list of eligible titles, as well as their point value, here.

-How do I get coins for digital purchases?
In order to earn coins on any digital games you purchase on Wii/WiiU/3DS/DSi, you will first need to link you Club Nintendo account to your system. Instruction for doing so can be found here.

-Can I play the Wii games on my Wii-U?
Yes, but as of now, only in Wii mode. Native Wii U support might be added later on, but will most likely require the typical $1-$1.50 fee to transfer over.

-How do I play Wii games on Wii U
You will need to enter Wii mode on your Wii U. Instructions on doing so can be found http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wiiu/en_na/features_wii_menu.jsp?menu=wii_shop&submenu=wup-wiishop-ht-redeem-code"]here[/url].

- If I don't spend coins for the entire year long period, do they carry over?
Yes, you can keep your coins past the Club Nintendo year they are redeemed in. However they only count toward gold or platinum status for the Nintendo year (june 31st-july 1st) they are redeemed in. After two years old points do expire, so make sure to spend them before then. You can check Coin balance information while, logged in, at the top of the page.

- Is there a list of previous rewards for people who accumulated a lot of coins? Similar to Square Enix's Ultimate Tier?
The extra rewards for Club Nintendo are for those that accumulate enough points to hit Gold or Platinum status (300 and 600 points, respectively). If you reach the required number of points in a year, Nintendo will automatically send you your reward, with no cost to you or your points.

- Does the list of eligible games update as the games come out or on some sort of schedule?
The list will be updated before the game comes out, do to things like Pre-Purchase bonus points. Any game you can buy, should already be on the list and able to redeem.

- When do they typically announce the prizes for Gold and Platinum?
Generally at the end of a Club Nintendo year, but don't expect it anytime soon. Usually it will take at least several months for them to ship it out.

- Is there anyway to enter multiple copies of the same game or device?
They have an option in the settings to make your account a family account, which means it can have sub-accounts that allows you to register multiple copies of games. The coins from all the sub-accounts all end up in the same main account coin collection.

- How does the site show what balance of coins you have to spend versus your total towards Gold/Platinum?
At the top right of the screen you can see the coin counter. The big number is your total coin amount, and the bar underneath is your progress to gold or platinum status. The number needed to advance is displayed directly above said bar. Redeeming your coins does not affect this counter, as it is only reset at the end of the year.

- How can I tell if a code is valid without redeeming it?
If you want to check if a code has already been registered, without registering it yourself, all you need to do is try entering the code while you are logged out. It will tell you the name of the game, as well as how many points it is worth, without activating it.[/customspoiler]

Let me know if I missed anything or if something breaks!

Mine shipped today as well. I'm debating if I want the Zelda posters or not but they sure are tempting. After dropping 1500 on the Luigi statue though 500 seems like a lot lol.

I do have all the other Zelda posters so would make sense to pick these up as well but I'm not gonna be heartbroken if I miss out on them.

Whats interesting to me is I checked my Luigi order via the link Nintendo emailed me and it states a price USD of $1500.00

Anyone want to buy the statue from me for $1399.99 (CAG buddy discount)?

Whats interesting about that? People have noted that coins have a roughly 1 coin per $1 dollar spent ratio (at MSRP) and hence the sum.

Obviously no one knows for sure, but do we think it will be likely that the 3DS game cases will come back in stock soonish (or eventually)? I waffled on it for too long since I had just used a bulk of my points on the Mario carrying case.

Got my luigi statue today! Debating on opening it or trying to trade it for something awesome.
What would you want if you traded it?

Also, if anyone else might be looking to trade, shoot me a PM. Off the top of my head, I have a Wii Gold Nunchuk from Club Nintendo and a Wind Waker LE available. I do have a ton of other things. Just let me know what you would want. Thanks.

Can I ask where you guys are located? Mine was shipped on the 4 the and still haven't gotten it. What did it come through usps or ups? Someone who gt it please respond thanks so I may call nintendo and get a replacement because I fear mine was either stolen or something else happened to it

^^Same idea if anyone is interested!

I'm gonna be honest, I really don't have anything in mind at the current time. The only thing I'd want for it for sure is pretty far-fetched...to some degree, lol

Can someone snap a pic? I got the idea from the dimensions.. the fig should be about 6 inches high. And since I haven't gotten mine yet.

I didn't have a ruler handy but I took it next to my DS3 for comparison.

Anybody know if you can check if a code is valid without actually redeeming it? I have a few codes I want to trade to someone but don't know if some of them have been redeemed already.

Yeah, you can input the code when you're not logged in and it should say whether the code is valid or not. You'd then have to log in to redeem the points. I do this all the time if I find extra codes that I'd like to trade.

Doesn't seem to work, I just put in a code that I know has been redeemed and it told me to log in to get 40 coins, so I did and only then did it tell me it has already been redeemed.

Same here. I want to open it so bad, but I dunno....
I don't know if any of you collect 1/8 PVC figures (average being $80) but if I had to put a price on the quality, I'll say $25.

Although, it does have a xxxx/5000 sticker on the bottom so that will drive the value up.

It's pretty light, and feels kinda cheap. It's roughly around the quality you find in most CE with slightly better details.

Overall, I say if you're not really interest in displaying it, sell.

Doesn't work. I've tried it with codes I know are redeemed at it will just tell you what the code is for and how much it's worth.

Sorry if this has been asked before.  I already received coins when I registered a  3DS XL on my account.  Will I receive more coins if I register a regular 3DS under the same account?  I only have 1 account and don't have multiple users attached to my account (family account).

Well the fact that it's a limited and Club Nintendo exclusive alone will drive up the value. From a quality stand point I'm glad that I passed, from the standpoint of people offering items worth around $90 in trade for it I'm sad I did.

I think so, but you might as well add a second member to your family account, and register it there. You'll need the second CN account if you buy games on that unit, not to mention if you want any of the free software you'll need a second NNID, so you should just go all in.

If you're trying for the Pokemon promo, just register the game to the second account too.... You can redeem the code on either 3DS.

Now I'm curious. Mind giving an example of a CE you're relating it to? I have a couple of those Sony statues and they feel like action figure plastic, though the KZ action figure feels a bit higher quality and the same goes for the Skyrim figure and then there are the Nendoroid petites, but I assume it's not that good.

I've own the Uncharted 3,Infamous 2,Ganondorf, and Max Payne 3 CE figure. Not really fond of them since they look like shit. As for Nendoroid petite, my first one will be with The Witch and the Hundred Knight. I do own a few regular Nendoroid as well as anime Pvc figures. Regular Nendoroid wins by a huge margin in quality compare to this.

If I had to compare which of my figure is most similar in quality it's Ganondorf (Wind Waker LE). Mostly hollow and cheap plastic. And slightly more attention to the details than the usual cheap CE figures. Made by in China from NEA Media if that helps.

And the bottom of the base on my diorama isn't put together quite well so it creaks when I hold it.

Overall, it's disappointing and doesn't even make a good paperweight due to lightness.

Only valuable because it's rare.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting it to be on par with a Nendoroid, but good to know.

Shame I don't have that figure, but your post makes me glad I didn't buy it. I might be in the minority or perhaps the only person to feel this way, but I simply didn't buy it because I didn't condone of Nintendo's pricing.

Anyway, sorry to hear it isn't too awesome, but at least its promotional nature will make it valuable.

I said basically the same thing, only regrettable from the standpoint of not being able to trade it for stuff.

Yeah, for 1500 coins, I expected something of quality. If I knew it was going to be cheaply made, I probably would have continue to hold those coins.

Not like Nintendo will release anything better. Outside of the Kirby coin, I've yet to see a CN item I really want, though I will probably get the pen case at the end of the year.

So who thinks next months games are going to be delayed yet again?  Hopefully vic's prediction of Super Metroid comes through this month.

It used to be the new games would be on the day announced. Now it's 1-2 days after.

I'm not betting on anything great this month. I have a fair amount of points.

Next is Kirby. Next next month is Super Metroid.

Dagnabit, got all excited for nothing. Guess they get to disappoint me in April instead.

Soooo, no word on the cradles, eh? One of you mentioned it before, but I guess you're keeping quiet now that we're approaching the mystery date. Every CAG for himself at this point. That's cool, that's cool...

I don't remember what thread it was mentioned in but apparently they'll be going up for pre-order on through Nintendo for $19 but whoever posted that originally didn't give any details beyond that. Maybe it's only going to be black, maybe it was all a fever dream, maybe it's the whole rainbow, whoknows.

What about the funky looking colored ones from Club Nintendo? Surely those will be re-stocked. I've not redeemed a single coin since registering and this would be perfect. I bet my chances are close to zero, though.

Hoping for a good game to go up to download on my new Wii U. I don't get much on CN but I have a bunch of codes saved one from my Wii U, one from my Zelda 3DS and probably 10 games or so waiting for that new CN year to roll around.

So far I could probably count all my orders on one hand. I got the exclusive Kid Icarus AR cards (free), a gold nunchuck (900 coins; Sold for $70 on ebay after I decided I didn't want it without a gold Zelda wiimote to match and I wasn't paying anywhere around $100 for a Wiimote) The Zelda 3DS cart case, OOT and Majora's mask Soundtracks I got the Luigi's Mansion statue (still waiting to receive it). I got the Mario playing cards as a platinum reward, And just recently the Link between worlds posters. I think that is it. Super upset the year I joined I only amassed like 600 coins or so and that was the year they gave away the statue with all the Mario characters on it that I wanted so bad! The only year since I didn't get platinum!

Unlikely, but possible.

When they launched someone posted that they were very little stock (remember, they sold out in like 20 minutes) and Nintendo had no plans to restock them. Can't confirm or deny what they said was real, but thats what someone claimed.

I personally think the cradles were part of an elaborate scam, though thats just me. Their real purpose was to get people to put coins on Club Nintendo (hitting 500) and wait for that date. They sold out absurdly quickly (even the Kirby medal lasted 8 hours and could have had anywhere between 3 and 1,000 for sale) and felt similar to door busters on Black Friday (they existed, they were real, nothing illegal here). Nintendo then announced the Luigi Statue so people who poured in 500 coins might bump it up to 1,500, people who spent might enter more codes for the item and so forth. This might just be me being a conspiracy theorist or assuming the worst of Nintendo, but I really think that was the plan.

After your recent experiences no one can really blame you for thinking the worst.

Eh, going off how the community views me, I wouldn't be shocked if the average CAG thought...

  • My CD arrived scratched like most, so I willfully broke it so I could complain about it and get a replacement without the community judging me.
  • I made up my first encounter so I could complain about it later.
  • Was doubted because I have made so many claims in the past.
  • Made up all the drama between a very simple transaction because I am actually a "Sony fanboy" and this was my elaborate way to justify hating Nintendo and getting the community to agree with me.
  • Finally got my replacement, which I sold on eBay because thats the hip thing to do.

Slightly more serious though, I actually came up with that theory before any of my negative stuff happened. Nintendo has a lot of liability in terms of coins laying around, so I wouldn't be shocked if that was their plan. Probably the same reason why they do the buy a 3DS + game promo so close to the end of the year. Most people have gotten platinum by now and you have the choice to sit on 200 coins for another possibly crappy item or get a free copy of Pokemon X or Y. Needless to say, the free game is probably better than anything they're going to offer in terms of platinum rewards going forward.

Honestly, they could terminate the service at any time and without notice so I doubt they're doing these kinds of things because of outstanding liabilities. The Pokemon X/Y thing is probably to get people to buy one of their other 39.99 games since most people that want Pokemon have already paid for the game. As for their new stuff added right at the end of the year, I have no idea what's up with that. It seems more suspect to me than the Pokemon promotion.

Every once in a while I randomly click this thread and I see the same whiners and complainers.

You'd think that a promotion thread would be filled with people who are happy (or at the very least content) to get something for free. Something they aren't entitled to in the first place.

Unfortunately the few rotten apples have to bring everyone else down.

Depressing to read and one of the reasons I'm thankful for the ignore feature (who the hell wants to read this shit?).
