Dunno how many people care, but Frozen Endzone is up for early access now.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/237350/

Do want. Can someone buy it so the rest of us can get it in a bundle?
No thanks, not me. I had no issue buying Frozen Synapse in the beta stage, but this looks about 1/10 as good.

Edit: I'm probably way off base here and this will be the 2014 strategy game of the year.

Edit 2: Hmmm, probably going to be around $14 from our Russian friends if it isn't locked. $7 a copy isn't bad.

Well, I had no interest in "Four in February" because I'm terrible at finishing games unless I really like them, but as for March, I've inadvertently made some progress.

First off, I beat Lightning Warrior Raidy.

It's a hybrid dungeon crawler/eroge game that came out in 94, but was remastered (new art and everything) more recently and localized. I've played (okay, tried to play) a handful of eroges in my time and only come across a tiny few that held my interest. One was Nocturnal Illusions, which I should get back to someday, and honestly I think Lightning Warrior Raidy is the second. I had such high hopes for Boob Wars, and it turned out to be total crap.

The gameplay in Raidy is what held my interest. Most eroges are just VNs, so if the story is crap, there's no point (unless you're that starved for hentai with story behind it), and if it's NOT a VN, usually the gameplay only serves as a tiny element to get to the focus: the hentai CGs. That was Boob Wars' problem. The gameplay was a total joke, and was only there to break up the hentai. Raidy is the total opposite. The gameplay is the focus.

If you've played an old school dungeon crawler like Wizardry, Bard's Tale, or even something like Legend of Grimrock that uses the same cell based, first person system, that's what Raidy uses. The dungeon is 3D, you move from cell to cell, and you have no map for each floor (until you can find the map of that floor, which is usually fairly well hidden). This means unless you have a great mind for navigation and good memory, you'll need to draw your own maps with a pen and paper as you go.

I can't imagine that appeals to most kids these days, but since I seem to be one of the youngest regulars in this thread and even I have a soft spot in my heart for that kind of RPG, I thought it might appeal to some of you. The first few floors, you can probably get by without making your own map, but the last few... you really can't just "accidentally" get through those. The enemies can be brutal (granted all the enemies are sexy monster girls who lose their clothes when you beat them), and since there are no shops, no towns, etc, all of your healing is done via potions that are gotten from drops or in chests. The game really isn't too forgiving. I had to drop back down to an easier floor once or twice to grind enemies for potions and experience. It's not that grindy of a game, thankfully.

Story? Admittedly terrible. Raidy is a wandering warrior (with impressive armor everywhere except her butt, for some reason) who comes across a town full of old people. She discovers that monsters kidnapped all the young females of the village and took them away to a tower. All the young men went off to save the girls. Raidy takes it upon herself to save the day, and the rest of the game takes place in the tower. Basically you're fighting through sexy monster girls (many of which are actually well drawn, challenging enemies) to save captured girls on each floor, and ultimately fighting the boss of each floor. Each boss has some sort of sadist fetish (some... more unique than others), and since all the bosses in the game are girls, the story and CGs are a big yuri S&Mfest. It's still an eroge, people.

In the end, it was a short enough, simple enough dungeon crawler that kept me hooked long enough to beat it (and 100% it, getting all the scenes and CGs). Can't imagine it took me more than 5 hours. I did have to cheat ONCE though. Basically, to save anyone who tries the game from experiencing utter nonsense and frustration, search ALL the prison cells on floor 3, and search them multiple times. You'll find an item that you need later if you don't want to auto-lose against a boss every time. For as well made as the game was, that bit was a really dumb addition.

I'm not gonna post any ecchi pics here, but if you wanna see a few screenshots, check out my latest handful in my Steam account: http://steamcommunity.com/id/idiotekque/screenshots

The other game I've played a bit is an F2P MMO, Perfect World.

Really not much to say here. It's kind of an older weeaboo MMO that was more popular back when that thing was new and exciting, I think. The visuals are pretty enough, although environment textures can be horrendous, but it's colorful and vivid and looks good for its age. The character customization is excellent as far as using sliders to edit your face and all that. The aesthetics in general aren't going to appeal to everyone though, since they're very colorful and the whole thing kind of follows a the old-school Chinese look.

Gameplay kinda sucks, though. It's just your typical click to attack kind of thing, push hotkeys to use your abilities, etc, but it all feels really clunky and slow. Not only that, but after beating the intro area where you get really strong weapons and abilities that you lose when you go into the real game, I thought I wouldn't be killing everything with one hit anymore. Nope, I'm level 8 now, haven't used any of my stat points I've accumulated, and I'm still killing every monster in one hit. Maybe I need to find stronger ones, but I'm just doing the missions that I'm supposed to and every monster I fight dies in one hit. Kind of sucks the fun from the game.

In the end, I guess it's not terrible, it's just so boring when my favorite MMOs are The Secret World (so unique, such a good fast paced  combat system, tons of depth), Tera (the most gorgeous MMO out there, active combat system that's so fun, massive worlds and active community), and SWTOR (good combat system, good customization, and it's Star Wars). I wouldn't be playing it at all, but sometimes you have to bite the bullet when girls want to play things with you. It could be worse.

Just went through most of my recent bundles and added all the greenlit keys. Except for Oniken, that one still isn't working. :|

Friggin' Desura.

They'd rate anything high if you paid them enough.
I've yet to see a review that really had anything negative to say at all. I'd be surprised if it wasn't any good.
Edit: Famitsu, Polygon, AusGamers, Escapist Magazine, and Gamesradar all gave it 9/10 or higher, also.

Oh, yeah. Raidy was cool, if unfair and old as crap. You'd better finish the second some time, since III is out of translation and about to start beta. Should be out before long. I've been waiting years for that one, just a few more months. Personally, I'm playing Yamina the Ethereal, a teeth spittingly frustrating JRPG/"choose your own adventure nonsense" game that I've already had to reload 20 times trying to find the optimal path through the chapters. And only got one sex scene for my trouble. Why do I torture myself? God, CYOA flashbacks, I thought I was out but they pulled me back in.

EDIT: Also, why no porn games on Steam? You're crippling an entire genre Steam, Know your audience!

I think that one only works through the client.
No, the Desura keys from Indie Royale have to be added manually to Steam by the dev because Desura's stupid and generated their own Desura keys, and the dev didn't get a list of keys from them to add to Steam so the games activate. The forum says we should send him our Desura key with username attached so it can be added.

Friggin' stupid. Every other bundle had keys added -except Indie Royale-.

I'm not blaming the dev here. It's not his fault.

So this is my first completed game for March: http://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/

One of those "Sure, I'll try it" "I think I'm getting the hang of this" "Woo, I beat it! Is it really an hour and a half later?" games.

(I completed the objective with a final score of 21104.)

One of my favorite April 1st posts a few years back.

I find it awkward rating games badly when you've gotten them free from the developer. I got Megabyte Punch, Worms Clan Wars, and Arkania Blade of Destiny like that when I was writing for Panic Gamer (I guess I'm still a contributor). Megabyte Punch was easy. It was a great little game. Not perfect, but lots of fun. I gave that a pretty good review.

Worms Clan Wars? Yeah, I kinda trashed that. It's still an alright game and it got a fair rating, but having played the Worms franchise for years, I destroyed tons of aspects of the game. It was a little awkward criticizing something so harshly when the developer gave it to you for free.

And then... Arkania Blade of Destiny. I couldn't do it. Hell I couldn't even get through a battle in the game because for some reason there was a glitch or something and all my party members never had enough AP to make an action, even if I "waited", it wouldn't even recharge. And I Googled around looking for a solution, and there was nothing. No one cares about this game. It's so bad that there's nothing about it anywhere. How can I review that?

Of course, if you're a professional reviewer (if there is such a thing, really) you shouldn't care about that kind of thing.

Yeah, I'm gonna start the next one soon, and I heard the third is coming out in English soon.

I'll have to try that Yamina one. Not super worried about a lack of sex scenes, I prefer it when gameplay is the focus. I'm gonna try Cat Girl Alliance next I think (don't judge), but I feel like it's just gonna be a ridickulous VN that I'll abandon after 20 minutes.

I've played the entirety of another two in that image, Snow Sakura and A Drug That Makes You Dream.
The only other in that image I played was Princess Waltz. Which was a fun little card battle system, but the game ended just as soon as the battles started getting good. It wasn't that different from Boob Wars, honestly, but you leveled up and got perks towards your cards and stuff. i can't just do visual novels anymore, I prefer some RPG in my porn these days.

Have you played any of these? http://www.jastusa.com/shop/catalogsearch/result/?q=moero

I know the racing is going to be terrible, but racing, hentai, and a blatant Initial D rip-off theme? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't really excited about trying this one.

"Soon". These guy and Valve would go perfect together.

And Yamina's really good so far, but it REALLY needs a walkthrough and it doesn't have one. Not a good one anyway, not anywhere I can find on the internet. You have to make choices in what events you see each day, and those events all lead to other events that lead to extra skills and stuff. But you get a limited number of choices and can't get everything, and there are...NO...DAMN...FLOWCHARTS on the internet to tell me what leads to what! I have to puzzle it out by hand and go through battles and even dungeons in between restarts. I need to learn Japanese.

...they're in my backlog...

I hear the last one is the only one with an actual racing game in it though. Like, driving a car and stuff. I don't know how they handle it in the other 2, but I bet it's either hilarious, terrible or both.

Haha, well with my backlog, "soon" is as good as it gets.

I know what you mean when it comes to that sort of thing, though. If you go through and miss things, you can still beat the game though? Sounds like it may a be a multiple playthrough thing. If you're worried about 100%ing things as far as the scenes and whatnot, in most of these games those accumulate over all of your save files, so it might not be too big of a deal.

Ohh, just Blaze has the racing? I'm grabbing the first one now, but I'll probably just skip the first two in that case, lol.

Don't quote me on that, ya know, backlogged. I could be totally wrong.

Oh yeah, it's just stuff. There's some sort of New Game + I'm told, so you're supposed to play it over and over. I'm just anal. but being anal got me an awesome skill in chapter 1 that is wrecking everything in chapter 2, which makes me feel cool. So I guess the exploring is the point. I'm just getting CYOA book flashbacks. It's making me paranoid. If I just relaxed more I'd be having a ball.

Anal skills, eh? I bet you're "wrecking" things alright.

Backlogging hentai games? What's the point of that? That's like backlogging porn. Seriously, who does this.
I've got backlogs in everything. Books, movies, tv shows, games, porn.
So true. I have porn movies backlogged. I don't always have the time to watch those, they're fucking long sometimes.

On a disappointing note, I just did an arcade race on Moero Downhill Night Blaze and the racing is terribad. Like, hitting cars and bouncing like the cars are made of rubber, yet losing no traction whatsoever. The drifting seems like a joke too. Sometimes you slide and sometimes you don't, it makes no sense.

I'll still probably play it though. I'll give my thoughts on it later.

That's why you skim them, no backlogging required!

Why am I talking about porn in the Steam thread. Idiotekque, what have you done to me?!?!?!

Depends on how much she was paid for the scene.
Yumina is over 3 gigs? Holy crap Batman.

Just finished the intro, in any case (up until the opening theme song/video). No gameplay yet, but the banter is amusing and engaging enough to keep me clicking.

You should drop your prices on your games and maybe stop bumping up ur page every 10 seconds, just sayin.  :whistle2:

I repost my list once per page, usually (I see 25 posts per page as opposed to 10, also), as does almost everyone who has sale lists. I'm not in a rush to sell my stuff immediately, so I'm not worried about it if my prices are higher. I still sell quite a bit of keys.

I'm not sure why this is in the Steam thread and not a PM, but alrighty then.

Finished Red Faction Armageddon just... because I thought I should.  Not the worst popamole I've played but obviously a step backwards from the prior semi-open world game.
