I'm sure you're trying to make a point here but it's not working well. Were you wanting me to know he was a certification director of Titanfall? I don't think you know what indie means, do you? Who did you say was publishing this game again, EA. Activison, Valve?

EDIT: Meant to say developing but not gonna stealth edit so the loons don't flip out.

He's not an indie developer. Just because he's self-publishing his game doesn't make him an indie. Lots of pro developers do stuff outside of their contract work.

Anybody have any experience with that Songs2See thing?  Looks interesting but might wait for 75% off since I'd want the editor to import my own mp3 files.

He's self-publishing but that's not indie, i.e. INDEPENDENT? Huh? So again, you have no idea what you're talking about. Bottom line, the game is crap and very soon to be bundle fodder. I'm just doing my part to spread the message as you requested.

Published by Double Fine? WTH....

Also, yet another Activision game is up for sale at 75% off - Fast and the Furious Shodown.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/224340/

I think it's safe to say that all those recent Activision sales have been because the games are about to get delisted.
Or they've finally realised that 75% off = lots of sales for their shit games.

Cant be as bad as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
That movie wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't named correctly.

Well, considering he's now published by Double Fine, yeah, he's not indie anymore. (Looks like he signed a deal with them at the last minute. Go figure.)

Have an antacid. All that unfocused hatred can't be good for you.

How do you get the key from Desura?
Click on the blue Desura logo in the client, select History > Gifts History. Then click on the "your collection" link. That will have a big huge list of all your games, find the one in question and click on "keys." Not sure if you can do it via the website.

I wish all the indie shit that Steam has unleashed was just a huge troll and Gaben is going to flip a switch and make it all go away.
Actually, I've got some bad news for you there. Gabe wants to REMOVE Greenlight. Why? So anyone can release anything so he can make more money from his cut of the sales (you can assume because he gives no reason other than "Steam's evolving").

Thus turning Steam Marketplace into XBLIG 2: Cesspit Boogaloo.

Tags would help but.. not enough. Here's the source -> http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/01/15/newell-wants-to-get-rid-of-greenlight-evolve-to-something-better-as-steam-hits-75-million-users/

Double Fine is indie..
Correction. Double Fine used to be indie. An indie is someone who publishes their own work. In this case, Escape Goat 2 is not their work, they are merely financing it, making them a publisher, making them NOT an indie. As far as I know, they are also not making Costume Quest 2 or the Gone Home console port, merely publishing it. They still self-publish though, but that just makes it in-house stuff.

The fact that I even had to explain that shows just how irrelevant the word "indie" has gotten. Are the majority of indie projects bad? Absolutely, you only have to look at XBLIG to see that. But automatically hating a game because it has no professional backing is completely ridiculous* and just shows you can't be bothered to look into it and form an opinion yourself. There are some fantastic indie games, and there are a lot of crappy non-indie games. Hell, a lot of indies are rolling in money. Being rich does not disqualify you from being indie, some indies are people who want to make a game BECAUSE they're rich.

How it was financed and published is irrelevant aside from being an indirect cause of a lack of quality, but plenty of people have made more with less, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

Basically, it is nonsensical to think "indie" is completely* synonymous with crap/quality. It's just a buzzword these days, there are a number of classics that are "indie", before "indie" even meant anything.

I'll counter this argument with 2 words.

Indie publisher.

Now your mind has been blown.

Oh Spoder, you always make me laugh.

Apparently that's a term though, but only used in book publishing (technically it's called "small press" and is determined by the amount of sales per year).

But either way, well played. :p

Bastion was considered an indie (it was in HIB V), but was published by Warner Bros. Care to explain?

Because I like information... not because I'm arguing with anyone.

Nobody reads anything here that's more than 2 sentences. Try again with less words.

I thought the drop rate slowed to a crawl if you had more than one or two games "running" via SAM. Although I guess if you're sleeping or at school/work, it's academic.
I fired up SAM, started 18 games, not sure how long it took exactly, but at some point 18 items were added to my inventory.

edit: update - the cards are flying fast and furious now! Appears as though there was some delay early on, then they drop pretty quick.

Click on the blue Desura logo in the client, select History > Gifts History. Then click on the "your collection" link. That will have a big huge list of all your games, find the one in question and click on "keys." Not sure if you can do it via the website.
*head asplode* Never knew about this, thanks!

Who cares?

A good game is a good game regardless of developer/publisher.

TRANSLATION: Gabe is AWESOME & gives GOOD-LOOKING cool people free PCs and games.

Not that I'm biased or anything.

Sorry, I'm thorough. ;_;

Basically, Double Fine =/= indie, indie =/= bad, indie =/= good, # of bad indies > # of good indies, "indie" = buzzword, $$$ =/= good games, good games = good games.

Better?

Bastion was originally released on XBLA where you needed a publisher. Development was not funded by WB, they just partnered up for the distribution and some marketing.

Come the fuck on Steam! What the fuck are you guy's doing over there at Valve? And, what's worse, to me at least, is the Connection error message is so condescending:

"Could not connect to the Steam network.

It appears that YOU are not currently connected to the Internet, or that YOUR internet connection is not configured correctly for Steam."

Kiss my ass GabeN. My shit is fucking GREAT, YOUR shit is fucked!

Damn. I'm all worked up now.
