Bastion was considered an indie (it was in HIB V), but was published by Warner Bros. Care to explain?

Because I like information... not because I'm arguing with anyone.
I understand the curiosity (of whether or not Humble tried to slip one past the radar). What Louiedog said is 100% correct, so the reason it was included was pretty much semantics (which goes back to the idea of the word "indie" being irrelevant). But yeah, it was already done, just needed some help being sold.

Come the fuck on Steam! What the fuck are you guy's doing over there at Valve? And, what's worse, to me at least, is the Connection error message is so condescending:

"Could not connect to the Steam network.

It appears that YOU are not currently connected to the Internet, or that YOUR internet connection is not configured correctly for Steam."

Kiss my ass GabeN. My shit is fucking GREAT, YOUR shit is fucked!

Damn. I'm all worked up now.

I'll miss Greenlight ONLY because there will be one less incentive for indie developers to put their games in indie bundles to "encourage" buyers to vote and get their game greenlit  and hand out steam keys.

Where will I get my crappy games now if they are not included in a bundle with more superior games ?  :whistle2:k

On the other hand,  Shantae: Risky's Revenge may FINALLY be on Steam if there is no Greenlight! (Since its probably not going to be greenlit anytime soon because people are dumb)

EDIT: My bad, didn't notice the game was already greenlit.

I am ashamed of myself for not knowing this was a thing. I'll finally be able to play it and stop waiting for the DSiWare sale that's NEVER coming? Hooray!

I'm glad it got Greenlit, thanks for the link Palinn.

Rumor is that hackers/extortionists have been DDoSing some companies to get them to pay up or else lose service.

Some companies pay up, Valve apparently doesn't negotiate with assholes.

Disco Dodgeball Steam keys are now up on Humble. It was given away a while back on reddit, I think.
There's also a gift link available for a second copy of the game. According to the dev, all humble links from the beta period should have one extra copy, even from the giveaways.

Got only one key :(

I thought we were supposed to get two, even for free copies.

Edit: It's there now :)

That happens.

Yeah, I remember that. Didn't see it when I first checked, but you're right.. it's there. First person to quote this post can have my extra Humble gift link for Disco Dodgeball if they missed out on the giveaway.

Sweet, I'll take it.

Edit: Shucks, just a little too late.

Indie isn't indie enough to be indie anymore.

And people keep parroting Gabe's musings about Greenlight going away. He said the same damned thing over a year ago and it's still around. It might go away tomorrow, or next year, or 10 years from now or never. It's on Valve time so until there's something more concrete it's premature to act like Greenlight is going away soon.

Doesn't really matter when they dump 75 to 100 pieces of shovelware on the steam store with each greenlight update.

I agree completely. Just letting Bruiticus know that Gabe wants to get rid of it and open the floodgates, so I doubt all the Greenlit games will ever end up back in quarantine. But seeing as we don't even have the feature of redeeming Steam keys through the website yet (unlike Desura and even Origin), I don't expect Greenlight to go away any time soon.

Pool Nation - $9.99 $2.49

Tiny Troopers - $4.99 $1.24
Pool Nation is a great one, obviously.

I do want to call attention to Tiny Troopers, though. It really is a fun little game.

You can tell from the screenshots that it's an overhead action game, but it also has some exploration and semi-open environments, as well as Rogue-like parts. Your little troops can be leveled up, but once they die - that's it; you start with new recruits all over again. There's also a store in between rounds so you can stock up on weapons and ammo. (Oh, and change the default control from mouse-driven to WASD)

Tiny Troopers has a "Zombies!" mode.

*waits*

...

Since people are talking about Shantae: I don't remember, is there going to be any point in getting the Steam version other than +1 Steam count if I've already beaten it on two other platforms?

Gothic Universe bundle at $5 is a great deal for all you whipper-snappers who have never played Gothic 1 and 2.  3 is okay but even with the community patch has a ton of fundamental design flaws.  At the very least you owe it to yourselves to get Gothic 2 for $2.50.

It matters in the sense that they can blame the community for it with Greenlight. Without it, if they don't come up with some new system to just feature select games then every Tom, Dick and Harry with a trashy flash or RPG Maker game will be able to bombard the new releases list and they won't have the community to pin it on.

WTF, what happened to the real Mooby?! The Gothic games are bundle fodder, published by Nordic games!

Against my better judgement, I bought Gothic Universe from Bundle Stars for $4. I can't believe I underpaid by $1. I feel so stupid.

Wait, wut?

FWIW while I think Gothic 2 is one of the better RPGs of that era (once it got patched which took a while), those old Gothic games really haven't aged well visually at all. The 2D stuff like Baldur's and Divine Divinity have aged much better IMO.

It also has some godawful controls from what I can remember.

My grandma trolls better than you. And she's dead.
Are you sure? Sometimes old people don't move around so fast and you just think they're dead, not that I know from experience....poor MeMa.

Which explains why they don't get along with EA.

Anybody have any recommendations for a good USB hub?  I was looking at one from Amazon Basics that has 7 ports and is powered.  It's 18.99 and I just feel like such a non-cheapass paying that much for a USB hub.

Eh, with how desperate Sega's been for sales this past month, I wouldn't be surprised if the Sonic bundle saw another dip. Still sad I missed it for $19 on Amazon. I'd settle for $20 for everything since I own nothing Sonic related on PC.

Edit: Just found out Steam had the Collection for $15 last December. Guess I'm just going to have to pray they repeat it someday. $15 for the 17 items is a steal.

Free Party of Sin, please post if you take it.

M5LF3-9MHIA-IDXH?

Last number is Gordie Howe's jersey number.
Really sucks how the only multiplayer/co-op for that game is local.

Does anyone know if there's any MP mods?
