This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

 • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
 • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
 • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
 • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
 • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
 • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I hate writing on the mobile site, but yes, I was referring to State of Decay.
I think it comes with the planned dlc that has you as a decked out military group at the start that has to cope with surviving. It was interesting because they stated it was a reversal of the usual mechanics since you have everything at the beginning and then have to deal with dwindling resources.

All you should need to do to sell someone on Kingdoms of Amalur is to say that Todd McFarlane was behind the visuals.

Any comic book fan worth his or her salt will buy it immediately. :p
Also, story is writen by R.A. Salvatore, so any Drizzt Do'Urden fan (or Forgotten Realms reader) is automatically sold as well.

What is the running time of a game before you consider it short? All of these comments on Dead Light made me check my playtime when I finished it yesterday for the first time:

4 hours, 17 minutes.

To me that's not short, especially since I didn't get all of the achievements and items.

I'd call a short game 2 hours to finish. Games like Alien Hominid, The Maw, and most of the NES library.

Depends on the game. Shooter under 6 hours and RPG under 20 hours. Usually I use under 6 hours for most games. 4 hours fits easily into the 1 sitting category and that is about how long it takes to get all the gamerscore.

So, anyone got anything positive to say about any of the ASM DLC?

I mean, I know it's just a buck each. But you know. Cheap is in the name.

To those asking about KOA Reckoning..Its really good. Story was weak but the combat was fun. The DLC was good as well. Like others said...try it!

It's also easy 1300/1300 if they care about the achievements.

I believe it was something like 2 - 4 hours for the last Call of Duty I played, MW2. It was awesome but felt way too short to me.

Yeah best thing about KoA:R is that you'll get tons of hours out of that game and the way they designed it you can change up your combat skills whenever which makes it fresh like always.

Since a fair amount of people missed out on the GH de-listings becuase MS switched the flip early, there is another de-listing. This time for one song in the Rock Band library. And it's a classic, Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" which will be disappearing forever April 30th. It is currently 50% off($1) and is a legacy song, so no harmonies or keyboard parts. I highly recommend this great vocal song. Has a great solo too IMO. http://www.rockbandaide.com/20108/journey-leaving-the-music-store/

I really hope we get a sale on RB3 songs before the end of the year. Make it happen Harmonix!!!!

Ah, it's alright then. I don't own a smartphone, so I didn't know that posting through one is so limited.
Yeah. The mobile site isn't always that great and tapatalk is soooo much worse. Its nice to have a dedicated app on my phone for the 4 or so sites I actively partake in. But like I said, only this site has issues with the app.

I'd like a sale on RB3. I don't want to buy a new copy without a guitar, so I'd have to sing. I won't sing for more than $5. Thanks for the heads up. I'll buy it if I don't already own it anyways.

Thank you so much for keeping this thread updated on Rock band de-listings. I want to buy a bunch of songs, but the cheap-ass in me won't allow me to pay full price. However, I would buy if I knew they were going to be removed forever. So PLEASE let us know if there are more looming de-listings for RB!

Finally getting around to playing Harley Quinn's Revenge to contain my Batman urges lol. I would also like to take this time to once again recommend the Captain America game. It is basically a knockoff Batman game, but its the Captain! plus the collectibles in it are actually pretty cool and it is a very east 1000G's.

Anyone know if Halo: Spartan Assault version of WP8 has gamerscore? I think I would purchase it over the Xbox One version if that's the case.

I'll look into that, thanks. If you have any other easy 1000G's, please recommend. I'm only sitting on 8K after my 360 died in 2009 (RIP). Then I came back this year with Xbox One and a WP8 phone.

Yes, it has gamerscore (250, X1 version has 1000). Go here to view the achievement list. W8 version on sale for $1.99 for the next week (after that, a permanent price drop to $4.99) while the X1 version is at $10.

I was just about to post the same question because I'm very curious. Every dollar counts. I have the game in my backlog and I will probably be itching to play it after watching ASM 2.

I'll back you up on the easy 1000. It was a fairly short game with easy collectibles. As far as it being good, though...well...

It was not the worst game I've played, but I personally wouldn't really recommend it for anything besides achievement farming. Better than a lot of other movie tie-in games, but that really isn't saying much. Of course, after saying this I realize that I only played it on PS3 for the platinum so there is a chance I could end up playing it again on Xbox for the achievements. I will not replay Hanna Montana, though. I have to draw the line somewhere.

Cap was definitely awesome.

I missed out on 100%ing the game by missing one damn blueprint and one Gold medal on the challenge maps. I often think about buying it again to get those two but then I think I'd have a problem.

Second this. Best arkham knockoff I've played.

It's dumb as all get out, but they got the combat right and the shield is so goofy.

As a Windows Phone owner, I've been waiting for this since forever.

I wasn't sure about renting Captain America, but these posts and Ray Sipe's video

 have convinced me. Thanks

I thought it was okay, though I only played it for a little bit because I don't own it. Been waiting on a good price on it, but it never hit the price point I wanted.

It's definitely better than the Iron Man games (also from Sega), at least. :p

The reason Deadlight got smacked with being considered a short game was due in part to a now patched bug that the game had where it didn't seem to record all your playtime (I think the game clock rewound when you were knocked back to a checkpoint rather than recording re-playing sections after dying). With that in mind most people were clocking in completion prior to the patch at around 1.5 - 2 hours. But reviewers hardly update their reviews to include patches so it still has this stigma of being a 1-2 hour long game.

That sounds about right. I don't know, I still felt like it was short (I think I 100%d it in 4 hours or something). For a $15 Summer of Arcade game, I expected more (I only bought in at $7.50, but you get what I mean). But the in-game clock issue did not help it when it came to reviews. It's why you should have your own timer handy. :bouncy:

By the way Microsoftstore.com has some awesome prices right now. Skyrim and Borderlands 2 are $1.99 amongst a few others. Also a fucking sweet ass Master Chief action figure is $5.99.......do it....do it :)

I ordered the Master Chief on Sunday and it just came in. It's a steal at that price for a gift. This one is for my son's birthday.

Dammit, that doesn't exist for us in Canada :whistle2:x . There's only a few deals for games, although Microsoft products (such as Windows) are a much better deal, especially with the Student Discount.

I bring news from the Steam peoples! UFC Undisputed 2010 and Read Dead Redemption are losing multiplayer May 31st. I only see 54 games and the post says hundreds, so there may be more! NOW HOW WILL I PLAY UFC 2010 WITH MY GRANDPA NAMED SANTA THAT LIVES IN THE NORTH POLE!

Gamespy multiplayer servers are shutting down on May 31st. This affects hundreds of games, console and PC alike, with some big titles on the list, such as the ARMA series and the original Borderlands.
EDIT: I just realized that the filter was on only for games released in 2010. I'll check older titles meow and edit if I finds more.

WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2010

Section 8

UFC 2009 Undisputed

WWE Legends of WrestleMania

EDIT2: All done. That doesn't seem so bad. PC and Nintendo are getting hit much worse. I wonder if there is anything newer than 2010 not listed on the site.

Umm, I'm not sure if you read that article, but it says RDR and other R* titles will not be affected...

That's not super terrible. I never was into WWE/UFC games anyways.

Section 8 is probably the biggest loss. But weren't servers for that already shut down? On some platform?

I'm sorry but anyone who bothers to include how long it takes to beat a game as part of their review who can't consciously tell a 4 hour experience from a 1.5 hour experience is not someone who's reviews you should be reading.

They really phoned it in for Harley Quinn's Revenge.

If anybody's fixin' for superhero games that may or may not be movie tie ins, Green Lantern's decent. It has drop in co op, if you've got a buddy to play as Sinestro - no achievements for P2 though.

Pretty big deal if Borderlands 1 goes down. Still never finished those arena achievements lol

I believe Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 is on that list to.

Seeing the article about Gamespy is news to me. Funny how I was just thinking about UFC 2009 earlier today during a boosting session. Must've been an omen.

At least Microsoft owns the majority of it's servers so there isn't too many of their games to worry about just yet. Might need to start getting a move on though for some of the more doable online titles.

ArmA 2, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands 1, F.E.A.R. 2, Saints Row 2, GTA 4, Neverwinter Nights 2, Unreal Tournament 3, ... wow, some of these hit hard, luckily for Xbox players it mostly afflicts PC. Although I do expect bigger titles to receive some kind of patch so that developers can add some kind of different servers for the online play - obviously the same can't be expected from small titles or ones that are not really played anymore.

Also, Xmen: Wolverine Origins, is an OK game and easy to 1000%, though you have to farm a little.

My main complain was that you have to keep watching the actors faces along all the game. Luckily, at least there are 3 awesome skins for Logan, so you can dress him as Classic Wolverine (the one with blue shoulders and yellow with black stripes costume), the "normal Wolverine" (light brown with black stripes, without blue shoulders), and the X-factor costume (black/gray with red eyes). Would have loved if there were skins for all the characters.
