GOG Deals Thread

You're glad to hear that your daughter has already become a GOG thread meme, and there's no hope of that not coming to be?
Seriously though, mate, from one man to another, can we please *not* make it a meme (unless either I bring it up, or, of course, the topic at hand calls for it)? Yeah, fukkit. This the the Internet, so let's just roll with it, shall we?

EDIT: I think this is an appropriate pic for the topic at hand, don't you?

Tattoos can be hot. Generic tramp stamps, not so much.
Yeah, I agree with that to the nth degree, except like spoderman, I also find tattoos in general to be a complete turn-off.

Also, this one might get my message across *just a bit* better [insert evil laugh here]:

EDIT: Fixed... sorry about that, spodie!
The typo takes all the weight away from that statement.

Yes, and that is why I expect you three to edit your last posts to something that *doesn't* call attention to my bout of dementia back there, mkay?

Maybe a conversation about something like "Wait, you adopted your daughter from the family of a crazed, typecasted actor?"

If so, consider going back a few pages to the post you quoted and look for that color...
Can't hear you, too busy fantasizing at your expense.

This is what happens when SquareEnix games go on sale at too many places in too short a period of time. Every frigging time.

Well, the only ones of those that I own physical copies of are:

1.) Tomb Raider 1+2 (one of my you-know-who's played that endlessly)

2.) Anachronox, because, well, that game is just absolutely brilliant.

3.) Deus Ex 1+2, which (for both games) my son and I took turns playing after every level/mission.

4.) The first Hitman game, which I was given for free at a game developer conference.

5.) And, my favorite of *all* the physical games I own, Thief 1 & 2. Now, I could talk (and boast) endlessly about the personalized, silver-plated packaging of the "Looking Glass Employees"-only version... but sadly, since I only did "consulting" for the AI of that game (and it was pro bono, to boot), Ned absentmindedly left my name my out when ordering them.    :wall:

I could go into a loooong rant about "how I still resent that Ned unintentionally forgot to order one of those editions for me (of which only 36 were made, and have sold on eBay for around $8,000 from time to time), but since you folks most likely don't give a rat's ass about it, I'll spare you the details.  :whistle2:

Maybe omikron and urban chaos because I have both retail and want the digital copy. I know those are on steam, but I just love to have those classics on GOG.

You can purchase it if you so desire (especially since they're selling it for less than a bag of crisps), but as you pointed out, Gangsters is an utter abomination to play, if only for its UI (or, rather, for the lack thereof).

However, if you can get past the *major* issues that the game's interface has, then it's quite an enjoyable play... In fact, I know this is probably sacrilegious, but I actually prefer it's gameplay to that of even Constructor.

However, the latter is still absolutely amazing, in my book, so <meta_humour>don't go getting any ideas that I want to put a kibosh out on it or something...</meta_humour>

And this, kids, is why rocks shouldn't talk.
Pet Rock > Billy Bass Rock

Also, unless you're either 1.) Already married to one of my girls 2.) A woman, or 3.) A pedo; you're SOL, my friend:

1.) My 26 year-old is married (with newborn twins).

2.) My 21 year-old is a lesbian.

3.) Well, that last one is self-explanatory...
1.) You're being deluded by your monogamist norms. Adultery is for adults.

2.) I don't blame her. I think I'm missing your point.

3.) Patience is a virtue. Also age of consent differs quite a bit between countries, American Imperialist.

Considering this is one GIANT sausagefest (and sadly, asheskitty rarely offers some much needed female contrast; even worse, she tends to joins in on the immaturity typical CAG festivities), this shit was *bound* to happen sooner or later.

So what can I say, mate, other than:

Sexist. I just have to conform to your gender role norms? You know who also didn't conform to your norms? Boudica, Cleopatra, Yekaterina Alexeevna.

That's an HP LaserJet 5L (1996) and the chunky mouse and keyboard push the date to the early side...

I've never been into tattoos.. instantly made that girl 90% less attractive to me.

Stop spamming you corporate drone. Everything that catches my eye has a steam version that has been cheaper (except maybe Urban Chaos.)

Nice try, Ashes, but I'm Irish/Mancunian.

EDIT: I guess if we were still living in the UK, then she would actually be of age (16). So, this one's a fair retort, and I'll admit you have a point here...

Again, nice try, but I'm actually a lifelong feminist.

Also, I hope you didn't actually take my post about "conforming to gender roles" too seriously, Ashes, because:

EDIT #2: Also, fantastic choice of Youtube allusions, Asheskitty... "The Wild Angels" is one of my all-time favorites, so you just became *that much* more brilliant for posting those.

I think that we *may* have *entirely forgotten* what this thread was originally about... All because of one teeny tiny little comment I made about one of my children. :fridge:

Fine, British Imperialist! Which is even worse than American Imperialism.

^_^ It's only of those movies I only discovered because of it's sampled use in music. (Another fine example is the also excellent Cool Hand Luke.)

Play games? That's just nuts. Diablo iII is a way of life.

anyone recommend Rayman Forever
It's the PC version of the original Rayman, which hasn't held up very well (speaking as someone who tried to play it earlier this year). Controls are sluggish and the difficulty is bonkers, so I'd really only recommend it if you've got nostalgia for the game (in which case though I wouldn't expect you to be asking how it is). Keep an eye out for Rayman Origins to go on sale if you want a great 2D Rayman game, or Rayman 2 if you don't care about dimensions and just want to play as someone without arms or legs.

What state are you in (I'm assuming you're in the US)? A lot of states have the age of consent at 16 (it is here in Hawaii).

Getting back to the actual topic of the thread, there are some nice deals in this Square Enix sale this weekend.  Any thoughts on Project Eden and Urban Chaos?  They're each only $1.49.  Even Total Overdose looks fun for $2.39, in a crazy kind of way.

Never played project eden, but I usually don't like puzzles. I played Urban chaos at launch and was really fun (still got the retail copy). Just bought it some minutes ago to try it again. Go and look at some videos to see if you can stand the graphics.

I basically live in the heart of Silicon Valley, so *I hope* you can figure it out from there...

Also, the age of consent here is 18 (unlike the ass backwards tropical paradise you live in). ;)

However, I also lived in Texas (Austin) for most of the 80's and part of the 90's, and I'm not sure if it still is the same as it used to be, but if memory serves correctly, the age of consent was 17 when I lived there.

Also, my kids are (half) Asian, so *technically* you don't need to *buy* them from me...

Just sign the adoption papers, and they're allllllllll yours, mate! :whistle2:

Hmmm, am I a bad parent if I say "yes?" :shipfree:

^
^ (Ya know? Because she's part Asian, and therefore short and... I should just stop while I'm behind, shouldn't I?)

EDIT: A spider just ran across my monitor right now, and I *nearly* just shat my pants (did I also mention that all the lights are off?). However, instead of soiling myself, I settled for a blood-curdling scream that just woke up my wife (but my daughter—the one I'm sending to you—is up playing Vampire: The Masquerades with headphones on, so my guess is she didn't hear me freak the fuck out just now) .

Anyway, I just thought I'd tell you that, because I know that you sick f*cks will get some enjoyment out of my suffering... :nottalking:

Oh dear...

If you're anything like her, then I'm not sure I even want be living in the same city as you, let alone family.

If I lie to you and tell you that she's a "weeaboo" (as I believe they're called), will that scare you off?

Please say yes... PLEASE!
