This doesn't sound typed very well I can't understand it. You said demand was high because the system has had a shortage, but are now saying that since people can find them sales are still high....?

Also $400 Xbox One would definitely need to be bundled with a game at this point. Too many consumers are being made aware over and over that the PS4 is more powerful when they see these headlines reflecting that the PS4 is getting better running third-party games. With that in mind even if they matched the PS4's price they may not stand as strongly sales wise. They need to match them, and outdo them to push the system home.

 
Ok so $399.99 with no game means its a worse deal than it is now. $449.99 - $59.99 = $389.99.

If it couldn't outsell it with that kinda deal going on, simply dropping it to $399.99 with no game isn't really going to help a lot.

Because I simply do not agree with the "shortage means more sells" crap.

The X1 has a bad image. Weather its justified or not doesn't matter. They need to ramp it up to change that.

Its not bad, its actually a good thing. No one should be upset by this and im not saying "LOL THE X1 SUCKS!" its good for a company to get humbled a bit to work harder on their products. It happens with Sony from PS2 to PS3 and look where stuff like PSN and PS4 are at now. If this has the same affect on X1 then its a win for all of us.

Yeah I'm very hyped for their schedule this year. Quantum Break looked really good from what we've seen of it, whatever the next Halo game is going to be either a remake or a new game I'll be hyped because I love Halo, and Sunset Overdrive could be a very exciting new title.

Technically speaking $399 would still seem to be a better deal than $449.99+$60 game. Consumers love lower price points, and some won't pay attention to the fact that they're losing money with that bundled game. Not to mention $60 isn't a fair comparative because games these days are usually cheap and you can always find a launch day deal.

Its scary that we basically just made the same points and agree no?

And with marketing I didn't mean that they aren't doing enough. I meant maybe they need to change the marketing focus to erase the stigma the system has.

Quite a scary thing, worlds ending soon.

Also agree that they need to change their marketing approach. One thing that simply shouldn't NEED to be stated is how Gamestop still has banners on the consoles page telling you, you don't need internet, you can turn kinect off, and you can share games. Those banners show that they still have a serious image problem.

PS3 was knowing as most powerfull last gen and until couple years ago was behind. I agree that this year is big for ms. If ms talks about these rumors of halo hd remakes and halo 5 they get sales.

That really doesn't compare since 360 and PS3 used different architectures so you had to development differently for them. This 2 are basically using the same.

 
PS3 outsold the 360 worldwide from the day it was released which is why it has beat the 360 in worldwide sales despite launching a year and in some countries a year and a half later.  And the power disparity is far more prevalent between the PS4 and Xbox one than it was between the 360 and PS3.

Both systems by the specs should run every current game close to if not full 1080 p and 60 fps. If you build two pc's with each specs that would be possible. Seems like devs are not taking time to work with x1. Hope that changes next coming year.

Actually I'm pretty sure the Xbox 360 was outselling the PS3 for a very long period, with the PS3 only catching up towards the end of this generation. If I'm not mistaken I thought the Xbox 360 was also the top selling console in the US for a really long consecutive amount of months.

PS3 did surpass Xbox 360 lifetime sales despite Microsoft's one year lead, but it's worth noting that only started around 2013, and Sony did have a much stronger brand name entering the generation than Microsoft did.

Xbox One being weaker, and having that ESRAM probably takes a more involved approach to developing for, and developers just aren't committing the time needed to fully understand those elements. PS4 being stronger and having more resources open doesn't have those same hurdles.

Personally think the ESRAM will be valuable to the system, but as we've seen developers don't understand the use of it yet, and they may show them not taking any advantage of it.

Obviously I'm not saying both systems should run the same since the PS4 is more powerful, but we've seen some great games from first party developers, and I have read a lot of articles saying developers don't understand all of the Xbox One's elements (like esram) yet.

Its its basically just the esram but other than that, this isn't a PS3/360 thing like I said correct? Where they are totally different architectures.

In the US and UK the 360 outsold the PS3, however worldwide it did not and I'm pretty sure it was right from launch, but I could be off, it might have started after they lowered the price that following summer. Whatever the case it still outsold the 360 despite constantly losing those 2 markets.

This is also the reason people thinking the Xbox One could come back and take the lead like the PS3 did are fooling themselves, the Xbox brand does not have the same world wide appeal that the PlayStation brand does.

I can't help but find it amusing, here in the Xbox One forums this thread has been turned into a sales debate, and in the PS4 forums the official PS4 thread is a debate about Titanfall..

I don't even post in the PS4 forums since I don't have one, not exactly sure why you insist and bringing PS4 debates in this forum. Last I heard you sold your Xbox One, and while you're still perfectly free to post in here you shouldn't be fueling debates in it.

Don't take words out of my mouth. I never said you brought it here I just said you were adding fuel to the debate. Every thread that ends up into a PS4 vs Xbox One thread I see you in it posting.

This hasn't really been an X1 vs PS4 debate imo. Its more, X1 is going to have to do something to move more units.

Sonic needs to go back to it's core gameplay. It's fine that it's a 2D side scroller. People love the new Mario Bros. games.
 
New Sonic Adventure would be fun I think the serious would do well if they gave it a 3D Mario spin, with Sonic's own flavor.

I think they've done it a couple of times now but it hasn't been very good.

 
Going to throw this out there:

I own both consoles.  I play Xbox One only though.  Why?  I hate the controllers of PS4.  I also have no friends on PS4.  And it doesn't have Titanfall.

Personally, I don't care about the "console war".   The battle has been won in my house for now.  I dream about Titanfall when I sleep.  When I'm awake and not working, I'm playing it.  And streaming it.  And eating it.  And making love to it.  God, I love Titanfall.

Oh, and the only game that I physically bought for my PS4?  AC: Black Flag.  I hate that game.  Just like I hate all previous AC games.  I don't know why I keep thinking it's going to be different.  The controls always feel like crap to me.

And that's my rant.

And what better company for the straw man fallacy than intellectual dishonesty? To suggest that everyone knew all along that the PSN hack was a sport hack and not done for profit is asinine. Sony couldn't even guarantee to the US Congress that credit card data hadn't been compromised when they were asked about it shortly after the breach was announced.

And what was your argument again about the PSN hack? You had to shred your precious credit card? Boohoo, a 30 second call to the bank and a new card arrives and you think a company should be held accountable for this the rest of their existence even though we know now that no personal information was compromised and Sony did more than enough to make up for it? smh

And I own all 3 systems so I guess I win and lose no matter what happens, right fellow console warrior? You can come out of the closet, cause only fanboys drag out the PSN hack in defense of their console of choice.
