Payday2 was on US PS+ in February already, so we don't have to worry about that. Muramasa (PS3) was already on US PS+, so I hope we don't get it on Vita. I passed on Puppeteer deliberately anticipating a PS+ showing, so I'm glad it showed up. I also sold off my Everybody's Golf (Hot Shots Golf) at Walmart not long ago for PSN credit, having not played it yet, so it showing up on PS+ is also a nice treat.

No clue on Stick It To The Man.

Muramasa Rebirth is Vita-only. Maybe you're thinking of Malicious Rebirth...?

Whoops, yeah. Though Muramasa is actually a Wii port.

Also not a fan of that, but it'll make a lot of people happy. Very Dragon's Crown-esque, since Vanillaware only makes the same damn game over and over again and has been most of a decade now.

Also not a fan of that, but it'll make a lot of people happy. Very Dragon's Crown-esque, since Vanillaware only makes the same damn game over and over again and has been most of a decade now.
I'm totally going to be that guy: Muramasa Rebirth is Vita-only and more like a P4G-esque re-imagining/enhancement of the original Muramasa, which is Wii-only. :whee:

Eh. Still the same basic concept, which is exactly the same thing as their other games; really pretty side-scroller with tiny-as- fuck screens where you kill 5 enemies, go to the next screen, kill 5 more, go to the next screen (where nothing happens but there's a pretty background,) go to the next screen, kill 5 more, etc..

I get that it's a successful approach as far as sales go, but I don't get why. It's a terrible style of game.

not to be a total shithead, but as far as I know vanillaware has only put out 4 games in the US in their seven years of existence, so they're not exactly the repetition factory you're implying. I'll agree that they're not wildly different from each other, but I'd say Dragon's Crown and Muramasa are about as different as Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. So unless Rockstar just makes the same damn game over and over (which I also might agree with), I'd say that folks may like Dragon's Crown even if they hate Muramasa and vice versa.

octodad.

I'm not really one to talk (I still have Rebirth in my backlog), but I think there's a bit more to it than that, specifically in *how* you "kill 5 enemies". It's also not an entirely fair comparison to say it's "exactly the same thing as their other games", as Odin Sphere (which I loved) was more of an Action-RPG whereas Muramasa is closer to a pure Action game.

Hmm... just received my copy of Puppeteer from BBY in the mail from the recent sale.  I figured that it would be a PS+ offering sooner or later, but I was thinking maybe later in the year.  As much as my boy liked the demo I wasn't going to pass on it for $12.

Guess now I wait for the first of the month before opening it.  I hate the idea that I might have wasted someone's coupon if I'm just going to return it... then again, if it's something we're going to really enjoy I wouldn't mind having a physical copy.

They like things not because they ACTUALLY like the thing, but because it is trendy to like said thing (or not like said thing). A fan would say they like Breaking Bad because they watch it and enjoy it, a hipster would wear a Heisenberg T-shirt and never have seen the show. Hence Hip-ster, prefix of hip to be trendy and fashionable and the suffix -ster a derogatory way to say one is a follower of the prefixed noun or adjective.

The motives for referencing the Monty Python sketch determines your level of hipstertude.

Now, am I referencing Goonies because I enjoy it or because I think you will think I am cool for saying I enjoy it? That's the difference between a fan and a hipster.
Now you will all wonder if I have actually played Spelunky or not. Also I really want to get a Spelunky t-shirt.

For EU next month:

Leaving PS Plus:

30th April: Mercenary Kings

30th April: Pro Evolution Soccer 2014

30th April: Bioshock Infinite

30th April: Hotline Miami (Cross Buy)

30th April: MotoGP13

Entering PS Plus:

30th April: Stick it to the Man

30th April: Payday 2

30th April: Puppeteer

30th April: Muramasa Rebirth

30th April: Everybody’s Golf
Nice list, I'd take it. I've beaten and sold Puppeteer and Muramasa but wouldn't mind getting both of them back in my collection. Stick it to the Man I passed on the PS3/Vita versions when they were on sale so that works for me. Hot Shots Golf I have but maybe I could unload it for a couple bucks.

It would be cool if they announced the US PS+ lineup soon, but we probably still have more than a week to wait.

At least I'm buds with people going for 2/3/4/5, so I know it's a friendly competition and we don't play the same game different region 3 times. poke 1st
You might want to check again on that part. I do not think there is anything wrong with it personally, but some in that group have done just that.

I don't have any problem with how anyone gets trophies. If I could get 3 plats for the same game I would probly do it. It's just a crazy discrepancy of about 300,000 tt points from 1st to 2nd, and the main inference I got from checking his stats was the multiple (jap, us, russian, poland, eu) versions of the same game. That and he plays crazy hard/complex japanese games. I will be lucky if I can beat witch and hundred knights :) I know it is legit. I know I will get double trophies for games like sound shapes on ps3/vita, but just seems different to me. I havn't checked any one else's trophies so I didn't know others in the top were doing it also. Too each their own.

I need to have more self discipline and play more trophy games and less cod. stupid fun getting in the way ;)

I personally can't wait to have snoop dogg yell commands at me in mp soon enough.

n lol, back in 3rd. by like a point ;)

n i thought velociraptor maybe to go with my velo name, but that just doesn't seem like a young girl's name as much as triceratops does. j/j kinda

I still havent figured out how you play so much COD and have the amount of trophies you do.  And you have a gaggle of kids to take care of.  You have to be an alien and not need any sleep.

What a coincidence...my FEZ review was just published. I've probably said most of the same shit in here already, but it's there if you are interested in knowing why you should buy it.

You can sum up anything like that. Final Fantasy is the same as Elder Scrolls - just elves talking bullshit. Call of Duty is the same as every other shooter - you just shoot everyone before they shoot you.

I wish it was successful. Dragon's Crown, their most recent game, was in development for a decade. This type of game is just not that popular. It was only popular in the arcades because that was the pinnacle of technology at the time - they looked like cartoons. Especially the Konami ones like Ninja Turtles and The Simpsons.

yeah check out the interview with jimmy fallon and brian williams, especially about them colluding, it is hilarious.

also yeah too many kids and cod (excuses/wahwah). I had to bring my son to get an iep for speech therapy at 8am today, and that was 2 hours and didn't get to sleep til 4 last night. I wish I were Tyler Durden. n cod is all social for me, well and competitive. I love to get off work and shoot some randoms with some buds and just get some stress out. it is sad/funny but all my dude friends I don't even know their faces, just you cags and cod clanmates ;)

on a positive, I tore through that spec ops heli scene in 3 tries last night. Thanks for the advice about holding back and taking care of stragglers before making the fun, made it easier/possible. I'm hoping plat on that or hundred knights in the next few days.

So I started Spelunky, and I suck at it but I can't but it down. I made it to the 2nd area once so far. I thought I would hate this type of game but I find myself wanting to see what will happen the next time I play.

On of us! One of us! Or maybe it is one of me?

Actually I've slowed down quite a bit on Spelunky, but then I've slowed down on games in general recently. I did play the daily challenge last night for the first time in several weeks. I think I just needed some time off.

Once I'm done with Smart As (10 days to go after today, I think :joystick:), maybe I'll start Spelunky and couple it with Rayman Legends for my "Daily Challenge" fix.

Famous last words?

That's a great list! We already got Payday 2 here, so hopefully the other 4 will come to NA as well.

nice, a friend of mine will be excited about this. i haven't watched the anime yet, but i was eyeing the game on play asia not too long ago.

edit: on the topic of plus, i hope we get different vita games. though only cause i own muramasa already, and hot shots has been dirt cheap plenty of times. doesn't matter to me what the ps4 game is, cause i don't have one yet anyway.

I was going to preorder the Asian version that has English subtitles but then I saw that they are bringing it to the U.S. so I'll wait it out. Pretty awesome. I've only watched the first episode of the show but I'll watch more sometime soon. I'm a bit weary of RPGs sans magic (I always play magic characters) but I've been told that later on magic is brought into the series via a new game? I'll have to look more into it when I can. One less cart to import regardless!

Am I the only one who thinks this month's EU list sucks? Mix of bargain bin, ancient, and uninteresting PSN titles. Hot Shots has been available for under $10 a dozen times at retail, and I have no interest in Rebirth or Stick it to the Man (same as Contrast -- while I have a raging Guacamelee! boner, indie platformers generally just don't do it for me).

Puppeteer flopped hard and we're going to get it eventually. Low-selling, family friendly, first party = when, not if, for PS Plus. I guess getting it in a monthly update instead of in the evergreen set (a la LBP: Karting) is a silver lining.

No not really, I finished Rebirth (both characters). I've had Hot Shots since launch (assuming it's the Vita version). I bought Puppeteer but have yet to play it. Payday could be alright but one of those games I'd probably never end up playing. Stick it to the Man looked fun so that might be the only one I'd want.

Played some Octodad last night and it is resoundingly... okay. The absurdity of it all is pretty funny and even got my wife interested in watching (never happens), but it's all pretty shallow and definitely not for everyone. I don't regret it for $12 since I was pretty intrigued (handosomepete inception'd me), but I know a lot of you cheap bastards would be better off waiting for $5ish.

[customspoiler='Sort of SAO spoiler']The second arc of the series takes place in a different MMO which has magic.[/customspoiler]
This is what I've heard. I should look into this game and see if it takes place in the original MMO or not. Not that it matters since it's Vita I'm going to buy it anyway.

Anyone else notice that Demon's Gaze is seriously no joke ramp up in difficulty?  I mean like beat me down and make me wanna restart shift in difficulty (all because I picked the wrong first team mate.. a healer (in an RPG.. makes sense right?))

Nothing about this post makes sense...

I got that sense from this review from RPGFan; any remaining interest I had in the game vanished after I read it.

That SHOULD have been the review I read. Instead I went with IGN and a couple others that gave it around 7-8.5. He really took down the story though. Only one person so far is pervy but is pervy in that Master Roshi way.

I have to say, nothing on the EU Plus list is remotely interesting. PS4 was on a tear, with games that were great or gems (Outlast, Contrast, Mercenary Kings). So, we now get games that were on sale (Puppeteer) and shovelware. I don't regret on supporting Puppeteer though. Stellar game and a steal at the price it was on the last sale.

I still think I'm interested in Demon Gaze but maybe I'll wait and see if I can't get it closer to $20.  Guess that money is better spent on Trials or Mario Golf.

Also, I saw the used price on the ME Trilogy is $27.99 on gamestop. Nice deal after PUR and Birthday coupon. Still, Vigilante placed the PS4 Remaster rumor on my mind.  :twoguns:

Eldritch, why did you buy the Pinball FX tables on Xbox? Your PlayStation tables are cross-buy and you'll play them into the next decade. I picked up a bunch this weekend even though they weren't on sale.
