darn it, i knew i should have deleted stuff to make room for everything.

the real question is... does stuff already downloaded still work?

EDIT - everything currently still in my dl list.
Well it's still in my list but I can no longer download it from there like I could yesterday. If it still lets you then get to it.

The stuff that I have installed does indeed still work.

Now come you other 8 Vita owners, it's time to stand outside SCEA HQ! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

i'm so freaking sad i didn't get to dl spyro year of the dragon despite the fact i know i'll never, ever, ever get around to playing it anyway.

I knew it was only an on/off switch. Bad Sony. :shame:
well, that was always the case. what's unknown is why some are set to off, though it's almost certainly licensing issues.

maybe some tech turned it on 'by accident' to hook everyone up.

I don't know but I really hope that Sony made a nice mess for themselves. Could understand and respect it if they were at least like "Hey we made a mistake and made these downloadable and have to disable them again and will be doing so at this time" then winked and shushed.

They never acknowledged it. So, no harm done, for now. That being said, if licensing was the issues, wouldn't the legal problems Sony face kind of be worse than ribbing the fan base a bit?

Damn. Cel damage hit me hard with nostalgia goggles. This game is boring as shit. I don't ever wanna go back and play Vigilante 8 or any of those other car combat games that aren't Twisted Metal and ruin what I thought were great games.

Except for that the internet knows and they can't put it off as some technical issue now which was the long time assumption. If it was a legal issue then they should never have had it set up like that for a region they couldn't offer it in. I still have a really hard time imagining that whatever licensing they have for these games would make it OK for PS3 and PSP but not Vita even though it's the same piece of software the PSP uses. If it was an entirely different piece of software I could understand it but it's not and it's only certain games. Not to mention that most if not all of those games are allowed in other regions. Again if it was multiple publishers that held the licenses it becomes more understandable but like Crash and Spyro it's not and they have already licensed that piece of software to Sony. Of course it's way more complicated than that but the problem with this whole thing is that now we all know it's all BS.

I agree. And it looked like goodwill on Sony's part, with the internet raging at how awesome was that the Vita was getting the chance to dip in every game available for the PSP digital library. It was something that if utilized by the PR machine side of Sony (the idiots at the PS Blog) could have bolster efforts to market the Vita and give it a push as the Vita Slim nears release. Granted, PS Now is still the unknown factor, but it goes to show how finicky is the term of "owning" these games and how we can use them.

My long time assumption has always been 'licensing'. I'm not sure why you can't imagine it -- easy example, the contract spells out "for download on PSP and PS3 systems". Bang, game over, that contract would not allow them to have vita owners download it. At some point, they realized how short sighted the contract was and reworded it something like "for download through PSN on any Sony connected device" or whatever.

Every entertainment related industry has had major issues with old contracts as they entered the digital age. No surprise that Sony wasn't exempt.

That article has begun a string of comments below it that are aimless due to it being very vague. Before you begun strutting out privilege, and such, do remember that women, those that stream, seek attention, etc., perpetuate this way of thinking. Calling them out for abusing their own gender, in turn, is indulging in such called privilege. Do you know how stupid is to present a conundrum where women are perpetually victims, no matter what they do, be it they do abuse or not being a "weaker sex", "attractive sex", so on, so forth. Can you even look for equality in such a retrograde way of thinking? No.

How sad that gaming has become infected by affairs like this, only due to the spreading of online gaming (Call Of Duty, the cesspool of humanity, with a franchise that churns out billions of dollars thanks to the slobbering masses being a prime example) has come to the point of discussing privilege.
Again, I don't know why @tyler posted the link. All I asked was that people read it with an open mind and not assume it places blame squarely on White males. You're right to say that everyone is a part of the problem, but this is a (White) male dominated industry that caters mostly to...*ding, ding*. Hence the bit about 'privilege'. It's silly to think anything will change if the largest and most ardent segment of gamers doesn't see a problem. The article isn't so much vague as it is...benign...going out of its way to not single anyone out.

Without fail, these discussions will always bring out people who feel they're being persecuted (not you). On some Glen Beck type shit. As if acknowledging the marginalization of others somehow diminishes them. I don't see a problem with raising awareness about how we deal with each other (specifically women), both in-game... and in threads and forums like this. Doesn't at all mean we have to apologize for being male, or in some cases, White.

It's not that I can't imagine it, it's that I can't imagine that in one of their biggest regions that on a small selection of games they would have licensing issues that don't seem to be present anywhere else in the world (at least that Google wants to tell me about).  On top of that other games that weren't available previously, based on online lists, have had it officially added.  So it's not that it's unfathomable, it's that it's completely illogical.

Polygon rant ahead:

I agree with what you're saying and yes, this issue goes much deeper than the article does, and if you read those comments... It's more complicated than they even hint at and they are not, in any way, helping their target audience at all. Polygon, as most gaming publications, shouldn't publish these things when they knowingly cavort with companies, publishers and developers, as they strut their ethics policies, which are a joke. When they do cut ties with the aforementioned, look at where gaming stands (for the "common" gamer and journalistically) then they can begin a real discussion, journalist to gamer, open, honest and not full of shit.

Saddest part is that Polygon does have a super group of journalist that I do consider have the talent to expose in a good or at least acceptable way. But they do have some very bad apples. And as a start up, I guess that is why they are limited to the trash they're publishing (knowing the backgrounds of some of their journalists). Also, I watched their Besties Game of the Year special. I can point out two of them that stand out as the worst game journalism has and two of the best. And they cater to the trash ones.

You got me--I cheated to get the "S-Rank all levels" trophy.

Just keep at it.
I got it, now I just need 8-8 (well, and 8-9 since I can't play that one yet), which is purely luck on whether or not he decides to see you. I know exactly what to do, it's just whether I get lucky and he doesn't see me on a couple tries. The closest I got was 3.

Doesn't seem illogical to me at all. In fact, it's the best fit. Just guessing here, but, assuming it is licensing, then my guess is that when Sony realized the contract was improperly written they hit up all the affected publishers and asked them to sign a new contract. Most signed it, because money. A couple games were left in limbo for various reasons. It can get really complicated - for example, it's possible the publisher no longer had the rights to sign a new contract because of issues relating to the soundtrack, or perhaps the work contract they had with the developer was limiting. As for why it primarily affects the US, it could just be NA Sony has more cautious lawyers. We tend to have the fairly convoluted laws in regards to IP as well.

Without fail, these discussions will always bring out people who feel they're being persecuted (not you).
Without fail, these discussions suck.

ok, they're definitely delisting. got a bunch more quick downloaded but missed spyro year of the dragon.
Can you d/l to PS3 and transfer? Previously the Spyro and Crash games would not work with this process. I'm curious as to whether this update blocked off the PS3 transfer method or if they left that loophole in there.

Well done. I don't think I'll have the dedication for this, but I wish I did - even when you know the answers to some of these for S rank it's still hard to pull it off.

Ew, Child of Light has no platinum.
It's another bronze trophy bonanza too like octodad (well, it has one silver). But hasn't it always been the expectation that <= $15 PSN titles wouldn't have a platinum? Has something broken that mold? I guess this one's got a shelf release in the EU, that would make it a bit more likely. Nonetheless, looking forward to assessing other people's opinions of it to see if I should get it right away or hold off for a while. It sure is purdy.

Out of curiosity, what PS3 physical releases other than Ducktales Remastered and Best of Playstation Network, Vol. 1 haven't had plats?

Ding, ding, ding. They're not keeping the games off out of spite. There's got to be a contractual issue somewhere along the chain.

I was going to say Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, but I stopped myself and looked first. Nope, that's got a plat. I looked through the first few letters on psnprofiles and everything I saw was that way--physical releases all get a plat.

while I'll probably never play the game, I think Evolve looks fun. kinda what I was hoping the predator (4 vs ustanak) re6 multiplayer would've played like.

While this is true, it's clear that Crash and Spyro at least had the actual games replaced on PSN--those didn't work in NA before even if you transferred from PS3. That they work now means that they were fixed for some reason. I suspect there's about to be a big official push for this stuff. It wouldn't surprise me if they thought they could do a stealth release ahead of a big announcement, realized, "Oh, shit...people are talking about this," then pulled it back.

PS Now. Why give it away for free when you can hide it behind a paywall? $ is for $ony.

The original Trine 2 (not the one updated for PS4) was $15 and has a plat. Maybe the initial release price was higher though?

Actually, Best of PSN Vol 1 did have one since Sound Shapes was in that collection.

Sooo are you going to play with him? Why only read half the post?
I am down to play, just wanted to qualify with this because I may suck at the game initially due to not having played it. Also, posted this right before I passed out last night due to being exhausted. Have not been playing very much the last few weeks due to the birth of my son.

Farming Simulator 2013 was a retail release and no plat, and strange enough the vita version did tho. What a horrible horrible game.

Also thanks for all the crazy compliments guys, you are all too nice. My grrl was here reading the 1st few and it was so heartfelt, then it got a little weird, but that's always appreciated/expected also. Nicest thread ever :)

also ProfessorStotch, did your witch and hundred knights just randomly quit to the xmb sometimes? Mine has done that twice already. Plus I lost a ton (100 or so) anima randomly, but that could have been when I let my son play around in the hub area... Congrats on the plat again. I'm working on it...

I'm watching Tyrion Lannister/Peter Dinklage singing some crazy song about simon says on sesame street. Hamming it up to the extreme. This is great. Ha and now they have queen Cersei. It's a game of thrones morning on pbs. :)

After playing about an hour of PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD, I don't think it's for me. And how do you make a tower defense game without a damn fast forward button? I think I waited 108 minutes for the last dude to get around the bend in 1-3 or whateverfuck level is third.

I quit playing Zombie Driver HD and Altered Beast last night even though they should be relatively easy plat/100%.  I just said "fuck it, I'm a pussy".  I dont care.  I would rather not deal with shit that isnt fun any more.

Real talk, I am NOT the best all around gamer here.

I too tried to download some Crash and Spyro on the Vita last night and they weren't there. Maybe I'll try to download them on PS3 and transfer them, if I get around to it.

Quick Spelunky question...has anyone played this on the Vita and after awhile it takes a long time for the game to save and give you the continue\quick restart options? When I first started playing it was instant but now it's taking a minute or two and sometimes longer.
