Some people really like shared trophy lists. So that if they're going back and forth between the PS3 and the Vita using cross-save, they don't have two patchy looking trophy profiles for one game.

So I don't think it was short-sighted of them, my guess is that it was a conscious decision.

It really sucks though that IGN reported that they were separate with auto-pop because it was super disappointing to find out they were wrong.
I find it hard to believe that more people would complain about patchy looking trophy profiles compared to people complaining about only one set of trophies. If you care about trophies to begin with, your desire should always be for a maximum amount of them (therefore wanting 2 lists). If you don't care about trophies, why would you care about how patchy your list looks?

My hope is that a second trophy list may be patched in when the cross-save is patched in. That could be a reason why IGN was under the impression it would be that way. Of course, no one knew about only 2 player co-op until recently, so that may not be a good sign.

for me it's completionism vs quantity. I'd rather finish a game 100% than have more trophies. I don't care what level I am or whatever, I just want it to feel like there's nothing left to 'do' in the game so I can happily sell it/delete it/whatever.

R-type Dimensions in two weeks, good stuff. Where the hell is gradius already?

and generally I'm not a huge fan of playing any game twice. there's just too much other stuff I'd like to play. the number of games I've played twice ps1 era and beyond could probably be counted on one hand. vanquish is of course on the list and now ffx, probably not much else. I can't imagine sinking in to BL2 twice since I assume the time dedication would be through the roof.

I get that, but if your trophies pop automatically, how would having two lists be a problem? You just transfer the save and the missing trophies pop. The only hassle might be to load your game on the opposite system one last time after you get 100% which seems like just a couple of minutes at most. Maybe I don't understand how it works since I don't recall the last time I played a game like that with two separate trophy lists.

That's largely why I gave up on keeping my games. I'm always like I'm definitely going to play this again! Years pass dust collects and I've moved on. Now Spider-Man PS1 is the exception, I've probably played through that at least 20 or so times. I replayed MGS1, Bionic Commando original\Rearmed and Ninja Gaiden Black\Sigma a few times. That's all I can really think of off the top of my head. I agree there is just too much to play these days.

I'm just late to the party and not reading everything. auto pop is rad for separate trophy lists. if it wasn't auto pop or if it was like god of war vita/ps3 I'd just play it once and skip on the other console since I'm not inspired to play the same trophy list twice.

all that said, I guess I have doubled up trophies on fighting games for some weird ass reason, so I'm a bit of a lame ass enigma.

You're right, it won't matter if they implemented the auto-pop. But very few games have that, almost all separate trophy list games don't.

Guys, I'm thinking about selling this list of games, which I've yet to play:

F.E.A.R. 1, 2, 3

Far Cry 2

Fracture

Tomb Raider

Metro: Last Light

Pure

I'm trying to trim the fat here. Thoughts? I know I definitely want to play Tomb Raider and Metro (no plus, before you ask) some day, but they will be available on PS4 once I clear enough of my backlog to buy one.

Nothing at all for me this week.

That's fine, I'm still working on Tales of Xillia on the :ps3:

And Zero Escape, Guacamelle, and Spelunky on Vita.

i really liked fear 2&3, and they're both not that long of games if you're only going for campaign completion.

Supposedly most of the Sony E3 conference has leaked.

Definitely take everything as rumors for now but it's still fun to read.
if that's really all, i'm going to be disappointed. i was expecting some vita love this year now that the big system reveal is out of the way. really hyped for the syphon filter reboot if it's true. that series is what got me into playing shooters, and i haven't missed one yet.

You're right, it won't matter if they implemented the auto-pop. But very few games have that, almost all separate trophy list games don't.
I assumed Borderlands 2 would have implemented the same type of auto-pop trophy setup that Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time had and Sound Shapes had. Also, isn't the new God of War auto-pop?

Mine comes in tomorrow.
I got mine yesterday afternoon and I've been fiddling with it since. I let it run all night downloading my library of games. The screen looks great to me. I'm not a videophile and I'm used to Nintendo handhelds so I have no qualms whatsoever. I'll take the better battery, lighter weight and no potential burn in without question.

Some of you need to add me for Unit 13 scores among other things now.

Also, I can confirm third party chargers work just fine. Works in my phone charger without a hitch. The propriety charger is really just a micro USB to USB cable that you plug the USB end into a Sony power brick which then plugs into an outlet.

Sell off FC2 and Fracture, as I recall hearing mostly bad things about them and you can spend your time on other, better games. I haven't played any of the F.E.A.R. titles, but I recall the third being the most "meh" of them. I agree with your thoughts on TR and M:LL; you should definitely sell them

I don't play motocross/whatever games like Pure, so I can't help you there.

Supposedly most of the Sony E3 conference has leaked.

  • Uncharted PS4 3 Minute Trailer showcasing ”In-engine” footage interspersed with gameplay segments. Visuals are supposedly unprecedented and set a benchmark for console graphics. Summer 2015 release date. It looks absolutely stellar. Features tropical setting and differing time periods with Nate/Francis.
  • Media Molecule’s new title will be a landmark title for Morpheus. 3D world building, beautiful, quirky visuals.Extremely creative and fun. Possibly related to the ”Entwined” trademark filed last week by SCE (not sure). Late 2015.
  • Gran Turismo 6 is coming to PS4 as 1080p 60FPS repackaged title in the vein of Gran Turismo 7: Prologue. Stunning visuals, extra features (social connectivity, new tracks, dlc etc). Coming mid-late 2015.
  • God of War 4 teaser will be present – will be CG with snippets of in-engine footage. A little early for reveal, but is designed to offset negativity surrounding canceled new IP and generate excitement – also to partially offset CG announce of Gears of War at Microsoft presser. Late 2015. Date wont be announced.
  • Kill Strain trademark is related to Syphon Filter reboot for PS4. Sony Bend working on revamping the franchise. Stealth, beautiful visuals and a possible Winter 2014 title. Bend finally getting to join the big boys.
  • Wipeout is also making the transition to PS4. Source is unsure of who is developing it, but hints that it could be Sony London, Evolution, or Firesprite.
  • Quantic Dream has a trailer prepared – unsure whether it is penciled in for Gamescom or E3. Sony will be watching Microsoft’s presser earlier in the day to gauge whether additional titles will need to be slotted in to dampen hype. Expect Dark Sorcerer- like visuals in real time. Off-topic, but still relevant – they are close to deal to become a Worldwide Studios developer, along with Ready At Dawn.
  • Speaking of Ready At Dawn, The Order:1886 will get a stage demo. Big title for Fall 2014. Sony is expecting great things from said title – franchise hopes rest on its performance.
  • Ninja Theory working on a PS4 exclusive – possible Heavenly Sword sequel which was shelved a number of years ago. Quite far into development.
  • Sony London will be at E3. First AAA title in many years. 3rd person title. Gorgeous. They’re back with a bang,
  • Guerrilla Games bringing their RPG to E3. Provocative setting – very interesting. Insane visuals as usual. A good reaction to the title is expected. Will please the hardcore.
  • Sucker Punch busy at work on an inFAMOUS: Second Son DLC. Really cool. New powers. Possible new setting. E3 debut.
  • Sony Japan Studios debuting two, maybe even three titles. Project Beast – spiritual successor to Demon Souls. The other is The Last Guardian. Retooled for PS4, possible Winter 2014 title. The Other title is shrouded in secrecy.
  • Evolution will give Driveclub some time in the limelight. It’s shaping up to be incredible with jaw-dropping visuals. Demo release will be timed with the press conference.
Definitely better than what I expected from them this year, but this could easily be fake (Last Guardian release for this Winter already?) There are some disappointments in there though, specifically GT6 ("GT7: Prologue Edition") and God of War 4.

Are you on the white-background CAG? A guy could go blind reading that before realizing he can highlight it.

I like the list of supposed leaks. Syphon Filter, GOW, TLOU2, The Order, Infamous, Uncharted, Ninja Theory, The Last Guardian etc...real solid list. Only thing extra I want to see is A LOT OF fuck ING VITA LOVE. Not just a little.

if they put Last Guardian in their e3 conference I will force myself to play through ico immediately after the conference ends.

hint: I won't be playing ico immediately after the conference ends.

A price drop is on that rumor list. I don't see that happening. They JUST launched the Slim in the US at $200. Are they really going to cut it a month after putting new hardware in the field?

Forgot how quick this thread is. That was me copy and pasting from the website Tyler linked to and then trying to fix it. It's fixed now.

I'm sure the IGC update will have some Vita stuff, but yeah, we need new big titles being announced.
Probably won't be a push for Vita stuff until the sales figures on the Slims come in.

I'm stoked to hear more about Project Beast from FROM SOFTWARE. Hope there's some gameplay footage and this game will sell more PS4s. Job well done Sony.

So I know this is unlikely and just wishful thinking on my part, but with the absence of War for Cybertron in the PSN deals I'd be happy with it as a freebie in the coming months...
I would rather not since I just bought it for $5 on XBL. I don't need to get pissed on cross platform now.

So does the Vita release of the God of War Collection share a trophy set with the PS3 version? If it's a double plat, I may wind up picking up the Vita version sometime in the future.
Should have wound up with it yesterday. ;)

How often are these things wrong these days?

Really the only surprise I see is that they have MM developing their next big game for the VR thing that they haven't even confirmed will ever be more than a prototype.

Isn't From not developing it though? They co-developed Demon's Souls with From, but From just got bought out by someone, didn't they?

If GT 7: Prologue is true, I don't even have a PS3 and I'd be pissed as it makes it pretty obvious why Sony let the servers for it go bye-bye.

I dislike the lack of "Shadow of the Beast" in the rumour list, is it canned? Part of me hopes it is.

So, what's up with EU getting games as cross buy that we don't? Jak and Daxter collection and the Sly Collection are both cross buy there, but not here.

Also OMG DEMONS SOULS SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR!!!!!!!!

But really, it's going to be the same fucking game as the last three, with updated graphics that still look like shit because "That's what they're going for!"

Well I suppose that the 2nd gen Vita was built to cut down costs so technically they could probably just package it at like $179.99 or something without Borderlands and call it a drop.

NA sucks, is all. Also don't forget Child of Light.

Honestly they could do $159.99 and it'd be pretty fair--that'd be giving you BL2 ($40) and the 8gb stick ($20) for only an additional $4o in the bundle. Or even they could do $149.99 which would be an amazing pricepoint and would still be $10 better bundled than as separate components. If they got that aggressive I think we'd see a big boost in sales.

It must suck when you're unable to tell if people are being serious or not. God of War is one of my favorite franchises of all time.
god of war has figured out how to pull off epic without being ham fisted about it. sure, you're climbing around on a titan fighting monsters and shit, but when you're playing it you're all like 'damn that's big.' and it doesn't seem out of place at all. it's a weird balance they've managed.

not to get all 'save the colossi' on everyone but some of the violence in ascension actually made me wince. while a decent accomplishment, I wouldn't complain if they scaled that back just a bit.

None of the key people are there anymore and Ascension was a dog that couldn't hunt. If you think GoW4 will meet expectations you've got major blinders on. Troll would have been better. :whistle2:(

The people who worked on GOW 3 were not even the same people that created the franchise. People forget that David Jaffe directed the the first 2 games and left before work started on 3. It is possible for people to leave and the sequels to be good (just not in the case of Ascension).

Do people actually think Ascension is bad?? By no means was it the best GoW (I'd say 2 was, IMO), but it was still a very good action game.

This is the first article I saw about Project Beast.

Yeah From Software got bought out by Kadokawa. Here's some information on it.
