They're also doing a PS3/Vita tournament next week:

April Tournament
Today will mark the begenning of a week long timed tournament on mobile devices!

PSN will also have a duration of one week and will begin next friday 5/16.

PS3/Vita (5/16)
Space Shuttle
Monster Bash
Star Trek: TNG
Attack From Mars
Whirlwind
Goin' Nuts
Centaur
Harley Davidson
I've clicked on the tournament button several times since I first got Pinball Arcade and have never seen an active tournament going on, so I might check this out to see what the hell goes on in them.

Watched some videos of dark aeon fights from ffx today. There's apparently an entire different game in there that I never played where everyone does 99999 damage every time, auto revives everyone and the monsters have one trillion hp.

Ain't that the truth. THAT'S the game I want to play.

Hey guys quick question if you don't mind. I just picked up a Vita for the first time. I have had PlayStation plus for the last few years and have purchased all of the free PlayStation plus games as they were offered. Is there any trick I need to know to download them to my new Vita or is it as simple as just going into the Psn store from my Vita and download?

You are a fucking idiot if you think slamming your head against someone else's head over and over again isn't going to cause long term damage. I don't care if it's 1920 or 2010, you are motherfucking idiot.
I'm not completely absolving players of responsibility but you're grossly oversimplifying it. Again, this is a culture of play that begins well before the professional level. In the documentary I mentioned the brains of a high school and college player were examined to show trauma consistent with shit previously thought to be isolated to older cases. That's HUGE and supports the notion (as @eric mentioned) that this is more to do with a longer period of many, often indiscernible micro-concussions. Secondly, until recently the NFL outright denied and refused to acknowledge that playing could be this hazardous. Hence the lawsuit. Players (and parents) were brought into a game with falsehoods about what actually constituted an injury. How should they have known, especially when the league's doctors were saying otherwise? Third, the helmet (developed in the mid 20th century, mind you) that's intended for "protection" has ironically led to an even more violent hard-hitting and constant impact game, lol. It's essentially been turned into a weapon. Any sport or strenuous activity involves risk, but no one (including fans) could have seen this coming.

"This game was so boring that it put me to sleep", said the CAG in his pajamas, tucked snugly into bed with a warm glass of milk.
Hahaha, yeah, I know.

Hey guys quick question if you don't mind. I just picked up a Vita for the first time. Just redownload them from the PS Store.
Thanks. Great job with the thread by the way.
You can go to the listing for each game, or you can go to your download list and they'll all be in there.

I don't care about pro sports, but I think baseball might have the shortest career lengths, well, actually, I think baseball pitchers have the shortest career lengths, because their shoulders are not designed to do that kind of crap that much, with small amounts of rest.  Anyway, last week I bought Tales of symphonia, Muramasa, and Saint Seiya.

Watched some videos of dark aeon fights from ffx today. There's apparently an entire different game in there that I never played where everyone does 99999 damage every time, auto revives everyone and the monsters have one trillion hp.
Peter, I really wish you didn't suck so much at FFX, it makes me depressed. 99999 is incredibly easy. I don't know where you are int he game, but start capturing monsters. 10 of each from every area. You get crazy awesome materials for upgrading weapons. Save them until you get to the end of the game and you can buy weapons/armor from O'aka/Wantz in Macalania. They're 100k each, but end game money grinding is a joke. I can send you a handy PDF I made for checking off monsters I captured if you'd like.

In armor, auto option and auto Phoenix are absolutely essential. Don't bother with the break hp/mp limit traits, they're just not worth it. You should try to get an armor with ribbon...you'll need 99 Dark Matters, but you get them as a prize during your monster captures.

If you're short on items for upgrading, look at a guide to find if you can steal them from any enemies. Win the chocobo race at Remiem and collect four chests to get Pendulums. Synth these into an armor for Rikku and you get a trait that allows you to steal only rare items from enemies. Super awesome for finding rare materials.

When fighting the dark aeons, you want to go fast with your offense. You need haste, protect, shell, every buff in the book. If the aeon is ready to use an overdrive, summon Yuna and throw in an aeon of your own to eat the damage. This is nearly the only way to 100% survive a dark aeon overdrive.

The other option is to use Yojimbo, which to be honest, I did for a couple of them. Use him against weaker enemies, paying him like 3000-6000 each time to build up his friendship of you. Do this for a while, never let him die, and don't dismiss him. Eventually you'll get to the point where he uses Zanmato on a regular basis, which kills any enemy instantly.

Beat Octodad. Pretty short and a lot of you will hate it. But still pretty charming.

I'm also a few hours into Child of Light. The poetry dialogue is really dumb. Not sure how they didn't abandon that idea a few hours into development. Everything else is great, though. Art style is good, combat is fun. And its not going to take me several dozen hours to reach the end credits. Exactly what I want in a turn based RPG.

Nah, actually my wife is pretty awesome. I never really understood how she deals with my crap. I get a lot of sighs and side-eyes with some of the stupid shit I say, but she still puts up with me.

And she just finished her first year on her way to a doctorate of audiology, so she's pretty friggen smart.
Careful. Once they get a degree and start making good money they become acutely aware that they're with a douchebag.

Rookie contracts for baseball players are ridiculously long and loaded so their draft teams can keep them around for years before free agency pops up. Plus, they have the minors for players that aren't good enough or are past their prime, so they can play for a really long time as long as injury doesn't kill it. Pitchers depends on the type of player. Closers last for a long time and many of the better starters last into their 30 with a few breaking past 40.

I'd say NFL has a higher rate of busts from the draft with no real lower tiers for them to fall to keep going unless they want to do UFL/CFL/AFL. The reduced contracts for rookies makes it easier for teams to give rookies a shot earlier and drop them without losing much of their investment.

Ok, I tried to thumb you up. Logged into my Steam account and I'm told I don't have sufficient privileges to perform the requested action.

It's the thought that counts.
If you've never bought anything from Steam it won't let you vote on content (I guess they don't want people farming votes for greenlight, though they've found other ways to do that). Thanks for the gesture, anyway.

"I just finished playing this game, you probably haven't heard of it." -Hipsters
I've come to terms with the fact that I'm a video game hipster. It sucks but I'm OK with it. You've still got me beat because you're a PC dude, but I doubt many people here have been following The Last Tinker for the last couple months.

I was actually surprised to learn it was coming to PS4/X1, but I guess with the way self publishing is structured on those platforms now it makes sense to get it on as many platforms as possible. But yeah, it's mostly gone unnoticed by most, which as it turns out wasn't such a bad thing to do =/

Anyway, my hipsterness hasn't even reached its peak yet; I'm reviewing a game about racism, homophobia, sexism, and most every other discrimination adjective you can think of later this month. Should be "fun".

Okay, I can use the help of experienced eBay sellers: I'm selling something expensive to a guy based in South Korea who has just over 20 feedback. The address seems to be for an eBay-affiliated shipping center in Kentucky. If I'm reading this correctly, only the buyer is responsible for import and duty fees? And as the seller, I'm protected from claims that the item was never received or was damaged? Does anyone have experience with international buyers? Is there anything I should be aware of and other scams I should look out for?

Edit: The buyer also has an unconfirmed PayPal address, but I think it's because the shipping center is registered for it so these will always be marked as unconfirmed.

You should probably just avoid a possible future headache and not deal out of the country. You're taking a pretty big risk of being ripped off.

Yeah it was confirmed for the xboner at the big ID@Xbox show a month or so ago, just a few days ago it was confirmed for PS4. Alas, doesn't really sounds like it matters anymore. Now I need Adventures of Pip confirmed for PS4, though it doesn't even look like it will hit its original funding goal, let alone the $180K for the PSN funding.

And yeah I don't play stupid shit like that that wants to heavy-hand social messages to me. I'm a hipster when it comes to obscure indie games but I really only look for the fun ones. Not the preachy pieces of trash that tend to pop up now and then. If any of my political or personal views were ever affected or changed by a video game I would probably kill myself on the spot.

I've shipped through the eBay International Shipping program multiple times. Just ship it to them promptly with tracking and ebay handle the international shipping; they even provide tracking.

Yeah, I think the poetry is dumb as well, lol, and that's what I was most looking forward to. It obviously doesn't work so it could be they were intentionally going for a kitsch sort of vibe. In that case it would be funny and mildly clever. Combat is probably my favorite thing about it right now.

Why do you think it's a risk? When you ship to an international buyer, you're actually shipping to a shipping center in the US and they handle it from there. You're only responsible for getting it to the shipping center. I guess the buyer can claim that the item wasn't what he bought which would be a headache to deal with.

It sounds too good to be true. The protections afforded to sellers through the eBay International Shipping program make auctions less scammable. You don't even have to pay anything extra to ship it - that's all on the buyer.

Woohoo, I got my PS Vita Slim! Quick question, I've queue'd a lot of downloads, but I read a couple of days that if it goes to sleep all downloads pause?

Such a good thing I bought a 32GB card, with all the PS Plus games I had linked (plus the ones I bought a week ago), it's almost full... hahaha.

Is this your first Vita? There are some really amazing games for that beast. What games do you have?

Oh my god that is fucking terrible. I like Pabst as a "too drunk to care" drink or a beer games drink. It's also funny because I know a couple people who also love Pabst but not because they're hipsters. It's because they're poor and can't hold on to a job. I never knew that Pabst was a hipster beer I just thought it was a poor people beer.

It's a hipster beer because it's a poor people's beer. The whole ironic like turned to real like like.

Also, how the hell have you drank a beer while living in Utah?

If NinjaSquirrel and I are talking about a game, more than likely nobody else in this thread has ever heard of it.

Have you guys even read Vickers?
I started up The Last Tinker earlier today. It's an interesting game that looks like a 3D platformer, but turns out to be more of a brawler. Using the Y button to advance conversation is a mind fuck.

Yeah! So happy ^_^ I bought P4G, Muramasa, Ys and Vagrant Story. Ialso have a ton of PS Plus games so i'll be busy for a while :D just worried if I leave it downloading while I sleep if it will download everything I left queued or if it will pause (it would be a bummer, I wanna take it to work tomorrow :p It will be a loong day ^_^).

^ PBR is "college" beer. Much like the equally repulsive Natty Light. Students are broke. It does seem to have been co-opted as something else, though.

Interesting to see you say that, squirrel. You don't think games can be a powerful medium for communicating ideas? Bioshock, Gone Home, Spec Ops? I wish Papers, Please would come to vita so I could see what the fuss is about. I don't like preachy or patronizing shit either, but some good can come out of it every once in a while. Don't leave me here alone, man! I look forward to the review.

Community's fourth season was rocky, but had some moments. This season was a great return to form. 1-3 were bloody brilliant.

I hope Hulu or Netflix picks it up.

#SixSeasonsAndAMovie
I keep hearing that opinion about this season, but I guess I just don't agree with it. I thought they never recovered from Donald Glover leaving. The best thing about this season was that Dean rap (brilliant), but other than that I thought it was pretty meh. It was like the chemistry wasn't there or something.

Oh, and the Donald Glover talking about Donald Glover leaving joke was pretty great, too.

Awesome you have some great games there. Try to extend the sleep mode in your settings (I am not sure if this is even possible.) But I would prioritize which games you want to play the most first. All those games are probably 100 hours (Howlongtobeat has P4G at 68 hours.) The vita is a great console and I don't know what I would do without mine.
