I'm starting to make progress on this PS4 savings plan. Finally halfway there after selling a couple N64 games to a friend. I have 3 or 4 more good value N64 games to sell, and then the lesser games, console, controllers, etc. Plus I"m trading in a few things to Target tonight. I'm seeing the end in sight! Though I'm sure I should wait for a good deal on the console.

6 months is crazy. There are tons of people that don't have HBO or even cable any more and wait for shows to get on Netflix or DVD, which takes way more than 6 months. There's also so much quality content out nowadays (TV shows, Movies, Games, plus sports) that it's hard to keep up with everything anyway.

6 months for games on CAG is also crazy. Last of Us is almost a year old and still hasn't dipped below $20. Now with a PS4 version on the horizon plenty of those who were waiting for a good deal for the PS3 version are now just going to wait for a good deal on the PS4 version. That's at least another year out.

If you're in a thread or forum that's not directly related to that content (i.e as long as you're not in a Last of Us discussion thread) then tag that shit.

I paid $16 for it from Newegg like 2 years ago. I have no idea why I've yet to play it. I'm probably going to play a couple shorter games once I'm done with Star Ocean, and then finally start Nier.

 
I'll be getting Last of Us for PS4 for sure (after I have a PS4). Never played the PS3 version. But, yeah, I don't want to pay full price or even $50.xx after GCU+tax, so I'll be waiting. $40 and I'll be in since it includes DLC and such.

I havent played LoU either and want to. And guess what? I dont know shit about the story and actually very little about the gameplay. And I read about games every day on this site and others. Nothing gets spoiled unless I want it to. I make it a point to stay away from things I dont want spoiled. 6 months isnt a hard and fast rule of course, but I still think its your responsibility not to get spoiled if you dont want to.

That's exactly the reason I sold Metro and Tomb Raider. Helps clear the PS3 backlog and puts me closer to a PS4. At the point I can buy the "better" versions of those games.

I just grabbed my "free" copy of Saints Row The Third on XBOX LIve. Nothing like getting a free game you already got on PS+ awhile back and still haven't touched in the good old backlog.

That's all well and good except when you're posting that info in a thread that's not at all directly related to whatever it is potentially getting spoiled.

It's one thing to say it's your own fault if you walk in a *insert game/movie/book/etc* discussion thread; it's another when you're reading about something completely different and someone drops a spoiler bomb.

It's $39.99 at Best Buy. At least the "Pretty sure" saves you from lying, if not so much saving you from being lazy. Plus that's not the PS4 version.

I have managed to avoid Last of Us spoilers, but I consider that blind luck.

Yeah I know how to avoid spoilers too. Like I said, avoiding the right message boards and forums and you're pretty much gold. But that's why general discussion threads (like what this one has turned in to) should not ever have spoilers in it about anything. Everyone here is in to different games and shows and movies and so there's really no reason to openly discuss spoilers about any of them. Especially when tagging them is so fuck ing easy.

And you can't always be full-proof when trying to avoid spoilers. I was reading an article on IGN about two AMC shows that were cancelled and the top comment was a joke about
Hank's death
on Breaking Bad just a couple days after that episode aired. Sometimes you read things before you realize what you're reading, especially if they're short and/or the writer thinks they're being vague. yeah, I get that, thats a dick move but I dont see that happen all that often. I am talking more in general discussion/posts/whatever, not when someone "drops a bomb".

This dude at my second job I used to work just walked up to me and straight up spoiled the end of The Walking Dead Game Season 1 before I could tell him to shut up. Like before I even realized what he was doing. I almost throat-punched him.

I get it man, people should be nice and tag stuff. I did say that but I still think if you really want to watch or play something that bad you can do it before almost a year later. If you wait that long it isnt a priority, so if you see something about the story or what not it shouldnt be that big a deal. Them's the breaks.

I just recently played The Third and SR IV. I enjoyed The Third more than IV, and it's the most pure fun I've had playing a game in a while. You should play it soon.

If you're in a gaming thread, there's a reasonable expectation someone's not going to spoil Game Of Thrones or Breaking Bad. It's not your 'fault' if someone posts a huge spoiler without warning -- you don't know it's a spoiler till you've already read it and it's too late.

The general rule shouldn't be '6 months', but 'forever'. It's not like it's hard to tag something. And it's not like there aren't dedicated spoiler filled threads for everything in existence if you just want to talk about it.

Bladerunner is decades old, but shouldn't be spoiled randomly in a gaming thread.

And games? Well, we're all here for games so those should definitely be spoiler tag'd since ruining somoene elses experience of TLOU or Bioshock or whatever sucks.

I find that a good rule to live by, avoiding dropper spoilers unless you are in an area specific to discussion of that product like a forum for a tv show (but never in the thread title) or in the comments section of a review of that episode of the show, etc.. I had not watched Game Of Thrones and 30 Rock just abruptly dropped a huge spoiler in the middle of an episode (S6: E20 to anyone wanting to avoid it) and I was SOOOO pissed. I don't even think the first season DVD had come out at that time. They didn't have to name the character's name, all they had to say was say "he" or "she" and anyone who had read the book or seen the first season would get the joke, and anyone who hadn't would instantly get the joke whenever they got around to reading or watching the series.

Back before he changed his name he would rag non-stop in every Gamefly thread saying stupid shit like "Chipped Discs FTL". Why he still buys from Gamefly is beyond me if the chips bother him that much.

 
If I had a PS4 I would even be tempted, and I never buy things at full price anymore.  It looks really awesome.  My only gripe with Bastion was that the combat was pretty simplistic, but I've read in multiple Transistor reviews that describe the combat as deep and rewarding.  

That $20 price tag is a bit of a bummer too.

 
I preordered Transistor just to support the devs. It looks like a labor of love and I'm deeply intrigued. It'll possibly hit PS Plus in time, but I don't care as long as they get the monetary support to continue crafting great games.

He also said it was "scratched to hell" which I highly doubt. That chipped dicks part at the end of the comment though, that was something else.
