Well, let me put it like this. If you were playing the 360 version, you'd have just started the 2nd of 3 discs. Discs 1 and 2 are roughly equal length, so you can pretty much double your time you currently have, and then add a few hours for the last areas.

Oh, and be thankful you aren't playing the 360 version. Certain areas are stored on certain discs, so when you get to the end and start doing a lot of grinding, traveling around, you're constantly switching between the three discs. When the game came to PS3, I abandoned the 360 version and just started over. Plus trophies are better than achievements.

That does sound like a huge pain. It is a really good game though in my opinion, I'm enjoying more than the last jrpg I played which was Tales of Graces f. I read somewhere that it may be the last Star Ocean they make, which would really blow if that's true.
 
Has anybody used PS Now on PS3 and PS4 yet? How did they compare? I had pretty bad screen tearing on my PS3 in 2D games, enough so to make them unplayable due to headaches.

Edit: Using wifi, btw, but connection test is good.

I haven't played last gen's Tales games, but Star Ocean TLH was my favorite RPG of last gen. I still have a few more that I want to play, but I doubt they'll take the top spot.
 
I fucked up.  I used different billing and shipping addresses on my PS4 order and now Ratuken says I have to call my credit card company and authorize an alternate ship-to address, then email them back.

This is really stupid I've never had it happen before in the 2 years I've been using different shipping and billing addresses.  But I guess I should have just used the same address since it's a major purchase. Hopefully it doesn't get canceled.

My only real gripe with the game is that Edge can be annoying. I love the battle system though. Not overly complex if you don't want it to be, and just plain fun. The bonus board is neat to.

Yeah, dropped by to say people are getting in now. Guess they're sending them in regional waves again, gahhh. Only impression I've read is that the app runs a hell of a lot faster, which I suspected might be the case. Again, there is an NDA sooo share impressions at your own risk. To answer your question, I switched between wifi and ethernet (on ps3) and didn't notice a difference.

I haven't played a game yet on the PS4 but the interface is way smoother on the PS4. I am going to finish The Raven ( got interrupted by family... I mean seriously fuck the people who care about me ;) ) and I will launch something and report back in a little bit.

I didn't think they were amazing, but I did enjoy them as sort of throwbacks to a time when jrpgs and anime weren't quite as obnoxious. I haven't played The Last Hope yet. I imagine it's going to irritate the crap out of me.

It's more of a classic feeling JRPG, which is why I liked it so much. When you die in a battle you have to go back to your last save. The fight isn't restarted and you get another shot. By no means is it easy and when I first booted it up, I was upset that I couldn't pick the highest difficulty and then once I got a few hours into normal, I was happy they didn't allow me to choose Very Hard or whatever it is. Now that I am remembering it, the trophies are super difficult and I think it requires multiple playthroughs and that's not my thang.

 
Can we not have a Lost Odyssey discussion?  I get a huge hard-on every time that game is mentioned and I'm reading this at work right now so it makes for some awkward encounters.  I've already reached my max allotment of HR meetings this month so it would be much appreciated.

Yeah, new copies for $15 appear out of stock, but pre-owned is available in my area. Trades in for $20 on Amazon (sells for even higher) so I'm going to pick it up. Thanks. This might actually be the last on my list of overlooked PS3 games.

I liked Star Ocean as well as you can see from my avatar. But the voice acting was so horrible I just switched it to japanese voice just so that I can avoid it, even though I don't understand japanese. It's been almost 4 years since I've played it but without excessive grinding for trophies and just completing the story took about 40 hours for me.

 
Yay, Sony Rewards site had $5 PSN cards again. Friend of mine let me upload his movie tickets from Spiderman and I had ~150 points from doing the Wheel of Fortune bonus puzzles every day for 3 weeks, so I grabbed one. Whee.
