part where the "demons" show up is where it lost me. The game had somewhat sold itself as being possibly realistic, until that. I feel like they could have just said the greed for the gold made them go insane, and you could have just had insane people instead of random monsters.

don't turn into sci-fi, don't turn into sci-fi and it did.
I think all your points are valid and that might be why Uncharted 2 is thought to be the best overall (even if I don't agree.)

And I still want to play Uncharted 2 and 3. I feel like Uncharted 1 was a good enough base that you could easily improve and it seems ,based on the reception, that they did.

 
I guess I'm one of the few not planning on playing Watch Dogs for a while. I guess that means I'll also be one of the few who isn't completely underwhelmed and disappointed.

I'm not getting it yet either. I don't have a PS4 yet and I'm taking a wait-and-see approach to how it performs on PCs with similar specs to mine. I'm eagerly anticipating it but I'm also patient. When it's $30 cheaper whatever problems it has probably won't bother me much.

Eh, I preordered it from Kmart.com because it cost me $39.99+tax and I got back $20 in points, so unless it's a horrible mess, I don't think I'll be disappointed having paid only a net $20 for it. :twoguns:

Yeah, it shipped on Friday. Unfortunately, I'm still working on Wolfenstein and I'm going to be away from home at a conference for most of this week, so I won't be able to start it right away.

In other news I hope the combat of Second Son gets a little more... satisfying as I get more stuff.  So far that feels not so great but liking a lot of the other stuff it's doing.  Keep expecting Delsym to do free running stuff for some reason and I just jump against a wall like an idiot.

Ehh. I don't know how seriously to take these claims. People say the same about calling CS "too often". Seems like a myth. I've returned a few things and never had a problem. Exchanged a showerhead a few months back, even. Someone like eldritch likely knows more but they seem pretty relaxed as long as you're not trying to work the system like a lot of the people you'll find in the Amazon thread (and dickdeals). Not saying you should return it but don't base your decision on that.

Yeah, that's an exception but I mostly played the game drunk so I enjoyed it in a "so-bad-it's-good" kind of way. Plus it was only $5.

Add me to the people not on the Watch_Dogs train. Though I never hopped aboard so I'm pretty indifferent. Those car models look terrible. And the protagonist runs like he's wearing a diaper. Who knows, it might still be fun.

Did you get the second power yet? I'd hold off on doing the side-questy stuff until you do. You'll know why once you get it.

 For me the combat never became anything super exciting. In a way, Second Son is essentially a shooter. I never found myself in a situation with the melee that ever made me feel like I should try to mix it in.

Sorry, only just saw this (didn't have computer access for 3 days). Each Spiderman ticket is worth 200 points, but you can only register tickets once per each account, and only up to 2 at a time.

I'm also not that interested in Watch Dogs.  Maybe it's because I'm much more hyped for Mario Kart this week.

After watching some of the driving gameplay (really lackluster in my opinion) I'm even more interested in a PS4 port of GTA V... a game I've already beaten on the PS3. 

With regards to inFamous, the game does get more fun as you accrue more powers and abilities. At first it is kind of a drag because of the lack of mobility but the unlocked powers greatly help with exploring the map later in the game.  I thought it was a good game.  Not great, but not bad either.  At worst it's at least something to play on the PS4.

Watch Dogs had hype because it was one of the earliest 'next gen' reveals way back when.  Then it got hit with delays and downgrades from the initial reveal so hype got deflated.  It still looks good though.

Kmart had it for $40 plus $20 coupon?!!   Is kmart good again?  I used to buy a game a week from them back when josh was doing all those coupons, but i thought kmart fell apart after that.

I was in my local kmart a couple weeks ago and the game section was downright barren -- all console walls had empty spaces everywhere.  I mean, they always had crap displays but it was never empty before.

I just read the Game Informer review, and to me the review didn't match his score of 8.5. He spent just as much time trashing the game as he did praising it. The review made it sound like his score should have been around a 7 in my opinion. Still sounds like something I'd like to play eventually though.

I'm on your side also. I'll wait until it's on the IGC if that ever happens. If it turns out to be GOTY quality, I'll end up getting it whenever it shows up for $20 on BF.

Good grief, guy...you're still taking what I wrote out of context even after I graciously explained it to you. So what if I try to offer perspective in a sea of internet hyperbole. It's...video games. You act like I'm crusading for equality on Stormfront.

And, no, I've honestly not seen anyone banned for making too many returns to Amazon. People in the OT always make that ridiculous claim. I'm sure if you act a donkey it's a risk like with any other business, but I've asked twice about it and both CS agents said there's no such policy. Be reasonable and you should be fine.

Kmart is doing a lot of $20 rewards points with certain games and they also routinely have extra $10 certs or other discounts you can get with your account. They also give free shipping for purchases over $50. I have been able to get several games with about $30 each in rewards. Some as high as $40 in rewards (this is the only reason I pre-ordered DriveClub). Kmart's rewards system is weird and unreliable which generally works out well for the consumer. They often give extra rewards on certain items with no explanation at all. I try to avoid the physical store at all costs.

 
For once I agree with breakfuss. amazon wouldn't ban people for returns. Ridiculous amounts of returns for dumb reasons yes. Not just for a few returns.

It most frequently comes up in the awd thread since people frequently return items they buy from there because they don't like/agree with the condition. But even then, I can only think of 2 or 3 people off the top of my head that have posted about their bans in however many bajillion years I've been on this site. So I think you have to be pretty nuts to hit the limits - but I do think they exist. If you're returning (for example) > 40-50 items a year to amazon, you should probably reconsider your relationship with them anyways.

 
I've seen one person banned for "returns". It's the same person that everyone in the AWD thread links to if you ask about getting banned. He provides no other information, and for all we know he pulled a Tyler and stole a bunch of shit from them.

i know of one person who got banned from amazon and only returned like 3 items that year. One of the bigger items they first said they would NOT pay return shipping on so she said she would sue or something like that.

and that is the KEYWORD. if you put sue in any chat or any email amazon will ban you or will put you account under review

I played some Portal 2 yesterday and damn what a fantastic game. The puzzle are well done and the co-op is great.

yeah, that's actually why I'm playing it again. it's really excellent (one of my favorites of the past generation) but I finished it on 360 and I'd like to have it on my little psn trophy card collection. it's a solid length and entertaining with a fun trophy list and cool couch or internet co-op. it'll get sidelined for a bit with watch dogs sitting on my front porch and ffx grinding getting closer to done, but probably not for too long.

I love how the game is written and it's a gem. This just makes me think of the other gems I've ignored all these years in the backlog.

The game looks great, but it feels a lot like one of those games that'll be half price less than six months after release, especially since it's Ubisoft. Mario Kart, on the other hand, isn't going to drop in price anytime soon knowing Nintendo. Hell, some Wii games are still going for full price.
