And have my 60GB phat catch the house on fire? I'm good. PSN servers are balls, period. I did some looking around to see if PS4 fixed it, but it doesn't appear so. Which is weird, because my Vita can download at better rates wirelessly through encryption than the PS3 can download on a wired connection. Makes no sense.

The other tricky aspect is data caps. Doesn't mean a whole lot month to month, but trying to get this stuff that I've missed out on is costing me a couple days average use.

 
I remember getting awful download speeds with my 60GB fat, too.  I get great speeds with my slim, though.  Might just be coincidence.

My experience is the total opposite. It takes my Vita forever to download games (which thankfully aren't that big for the most part). But PS3, and especially PS4, have been painless as far as downloading goes. PS3 gets on my nerves with the installs, and trying to install while you're downloading something is horrible.

I like the Plus option to have everything done automatically at a time you choose. My PS3 cuts on automatically from 2AM-4AM and syncs trophies, downloads/installs updates, uploads gamesaves, and downloads/installs whatever is on the download list or waiting to be installed.

I don't know how far along you are, but it picks up in Act II. Like a cross between The Wire and every Liam Neeson movie, lol. But, yeah, after that it kind of goes off the rails again. Your criticisms are fair. I enjoyed Splinter Cell: Blacklist and it of reminds of that so I've overlooked some of the faults.

^ I uploaded a clip of being tailed, btw. It's only when I'm about to start a mission that I'm notified of an intrusion. By then it's too late and I've been "successfully tailed". Happens so infrequently and without warning that I don't understand the purpose. I think the 'Traced' trophy is meant to encourage/reward playing online for a bit of time, seeing as you have no control over it. Or it could just be glitched, idk.

Hmm, was going to wait until a B2G1 at Target to pick it up again after having bought it on the last B2G1 for $26 and then selling it back to them a month or two later for $36. Can't decide if I should bite now for $20 or wait and hope that someone that Target matches has it on sale when the next B2G1 comes around.

I'd be much more willing to go digital on the other two platforms. I'm not saying no, it just irritates me to no end. I just upgraded the HDD in anticipation of PS+, so I'm probably going to do it anyway. I just feel the need to give the old girl some rest between laborious activities. Stay with me baby.

 
Yeah, my fat is now an exclusive Netflix/HBOGo device.  I don't trust that jet engine on games any more.  It's done pretty well over the years, though - I used to travel with it a ton to bring Rock Band to peoples' houses and the thing is a trooper.

Just finished Dark Void. It wasn't anywhere near as terrible as I thought it would be. I actually enjoyed it. The main problems the game had in my opinion were on the technical side. I had to replay an entire chapter one time; I beat the chapter, the game froze at the start of a cutscene, and upon restarting my PS3 I restarted on the last checkpoint. The game wouldn't progress no matter what I did. My PS3 locked up 3 times while playing the game around 6 hours.

Do you guys ever think of your Netflix queue as a backlog? I do.. I think I am going to include movies finished occasionally in my backlog report. Such as... I just finished Insidious 2 and was pleasantly surprised. I really thought it was going to be bad and it exceeded my expecations...albeit low... but exceeded.

I haven't even starting making a Netflix queue because it would destroy me. My Hulu queue alone is getting as bad as my Steam backlog.

It still sounds like there's cool elements and the story especially. Shame because there are a lot of potentially cool ideas that sound like they just weren't fully executed on. Gotta figure out what to spend my pile of Kmart points on now.

 
My physical netflix queue has been maxed for years, and i've got a ton of movies in my watch it now queue. Yet, like clockwork, whenever i sit down to watch something I scan through the stuff not in my list. Just like I end up buying new games rather than playing backlog half the time.

Monster Monpiece -- I'm only maybe 20 battles in, so the game is still in basic tutorial mode and hasn't fully opened up yet. But... it's pretty solid so far. The card battle mechanics seem pretty strong so far, though I haven't come close to losing a battle yet so it's hard to tell if the AI is up to snuff -- these early battles are clearly meant to be easy, as the enemy is crippled by weak mana/hp. I'm hoping it gets harder, but I have to assume it will for now.

I leveled up my first card tonight. Yes, it's over the top. Rather hilariously so. The game is definitely not safe for work. I find it more funny than anything else, certainly not a reason to avoid the game unless you're prude.

I can't swear it's worth the $30 so far, but it's got potential assuming the ai kicks into gear (or an active online).

You must have had some shit luck in Hot Shots; the other day I got another hole-in-one on one of the silver challenges. This hole-in-one was definitely on purpose this time so feel free to start making a shrine where you can sing songs of my glory.

Meh, not surprised. Based on the hands-on people got a few months ago, it was looking like shit. Particularly because of being held back by last-gen.

I'm not too frazzled, I only paid $8 to get it on PC.

To be clear, I liked this post for Heavy Rain and Indigo Prophecy. Not Beyond Two Souls. David Cage needs to stop getting work now. And he needs to stop with his obsession with Ellen Page.

And I also beat Portal 2.  To the couple of people in here that enjoyed the first one but put off playing the second one because you were stupid like me, I highly recommend getting off your ass and playing it asap.  The puzzles are clever but are more demanding in thought than reflexes.  And if you liked the writing/humor in the first one expect more of the same. 

An all around great game that felt like a breath of fresh air compared to most of the copy/paste game formulas that we're used to seeing flood the shelves.

I just finished it and didn't think it was all that bad... Gears meets Star fox starring Nathan Drake. Though not as good as any of those things, of course. But hey, I paid $3 for it and enjoyed it for what it was.

Agreed. Beyond was just absolutely terrible. It starts interestingly enough and just gets worse and worse. It's actually kind of incredible in how bad it really gets. He's truly outdone himself.
