Mass Effect is tempting, but I just traded the physical trilogy in to Target after it languished in my backlog for about a year. It's so hard to find time to devote to console RPG's. I really want to have the ME experience since its raved about so often and right up my alley in terms of setting/lore.

But I'd actually be able to PLAY the blasted games if the PS4 remaster rumor proves to be true (Remote Play = joy when you've got to share TV with wife and kids).

Decisions, decisions.

Master Reboot was one of the worst games I've ever played.

Got the platinum in 5 hours, 57 minutes. And a good hour of that I wasn't playing and making dinner.

No, thankfully it's not a requirement on PS4 (or vita). Plus, you can begin playing the game well before it's finished downloading. The only thing they haven't added yet is a way to pause and resume downloads.

So, it's only the first day, and I've already bought Kingdoms of Amalur (to replace my physical copy), Tales of graces F (again same), the DLC for KOA, and Rainbow moon, for both systems.  And, mass effect trilogy is tempting.

PS4 1.71 update out. I'm still trying to figure out what it brought other than the usual "stability". Save uploads still aren't working. Reports of the DS4 vibration bug being fixed at least. And some people are reporting the share button works again. Apparently shortening the capture time to 3 minutes and moving it back to the desired length corrects the problem. Idk...

I would assume it is so if the install fails for whatever reason, you don't have to redownload the game again. Can you imagine, 99% of the way installing Ni No Kuni it freezes and you have to redownload 22 GBs again? That's pretty much the only way it could work, deleting sections of the install file as that portion is installed. I mean how the PS3 works is pretty much how it works on PC, you download the installer to the HDD, install the program, and once you're done you've taken up twice as much space until you manually delete the installer.

 
Shit. I really want to buy all those ME3 DLCs because I never got around to them at launch. $25 is a lot to drop on something I won't be playing anytime soon though.
 
was hoping for a PS4 sale :/ but looking at the horrible Pre-E3 PS4 sale on EU PSN... guess not

Comcast had a soft 250GB cap before, but have now moved to a harder 300GB cap. I never thought I'd get close to using that much internet, but cord cutting and working from home got us to within 10% two months ago. For this month I'm on pace to use all of it this month. I've downloaded all of the previous PS+ free stuff, so that plays a role.

Ahh, that sort of makes sense. I guess. My phone requires a minimum space for firmware updates. But double the size of the install file, lol? That's crazy. And thing is, when I have corrupted installs on PS3...I still have to delete the entire file and re-download it sooo... that fail-safe never works for me, anyway. I'm just glad this doesn't appear to be the case with PS4.

Grabbed Amalur and both DLCs for $12 after having a few dollars left from the $10 PS4 credit.  Thought about Ni No Kuni but I couldn't get into it before I doubt I will again.

Dead Kel dlc is great, never tried the other. It's a shame, in my opinion, that we probably won't get a sequel to KoA. It had so much potential.

I also had the same experience with my 160 GB. It is less of an issue now that I have a 500 GB HDD ($39 from Frys, 465 GB usable), but I share your sentiment. Corrupted downloads are rare, but when it does happens, it's quite the frustration. This late in the life cycle of the PS3, I highly doubt they will address this double-size download issue... Prove me wrong, Sony.

It's been on sale from the Bandai Namco store for $19.99 twice, as has Tales of Xillia. Once just a couple weeks ago, IIRC. I picked them both up during one of the sales. They offer free shipping on orders $25 or more.

Unfortunately I already "bought" it during my free PS+ trial, so I can't buy it again to own w/out having a sub. :wall:

Afaik, Optimum/Cablevision has no bandwith caps. And there's no speed throttling either.
