Is that all cutscene? Isn't it an update of a 2.5D or 2D game? Could be good though.

 
About to play Dragon's Crown via EU PS+ on my Vita. Which class do I pick? I'll only play through it once and in single player, so I want the funnest solo class.

My scoring systems for movies is

1 star: I couldn't finish it, awful

2 star: I finished it, but found myself checking my watch multiple times waiting for it to end as it was dragging

3 star: I finished it, and enjoyed it more than I disliked it (probably 80% of my ratings are 3 stars)

4 star: I enjoyed it quite a bit and would rewatch it again in the future

5 star: All aspects of the production are excellent and I was entertained completely throughout

Probably been beaten to death but how do you go about doing that (EU+)? Do you need a 2nd vita or just another memory card? Assuming it works on PS3\PS4 too? Never bothered but I'm intrigued. If anything it will help me start another column in my games spreadsheet.

Easiest way is a 2nd Vita. 2nd easiest is a 2nd card, one for each region, and you swap the cards and reset your Vita to the account for the card you're using. 3rd is 1 card, and you format the card and reset the Vita every time you switch.

Works fine for PS3/PS4, though it's much easier for them as you can have multiple accounts on those systems with no issues.

So for PS3/PS4 you just need to setup another account on the system as an EU one? Guessing it needs to be a different username right? Where can you get the EU plus cards here in the states? Or just sign up for an EU account and buy it on the system?

 
Yeah, you just set up a new account. Use a fake address in the region you want to use (hotel addresses work great.) For the cards, you do have to buy them elsewhere, and you'll want to go with one that sells digital codes rather than waiting for a physical card to be mailed to  you. There's quite a few sites that have codes, and I haven't done it in a while. I'm sure somebody can chime in with a recommendation for a site to use.

This is something I might do once or twice a year. Buy games from my PC or one of my devices is something I do a lot more often. Next month my PS+ expires. I have a card from Black Friday waiting to redeem. Next week if Sony doesn't announce buy 12 get 15 months I will redeem the code and be good for another year. I will be able to get to a PC sometime over the next month.

 
So anyone here enjoying now beta/ps4? Tried it a buddies and all I kept thinking was sony would have my money as long as i could access all my content I purchased due to this thread on my ps4.

Anyways, makes perfect sense to me. It's too early for a Souls game (especially with the recent Season Pass announcement for DS2, I'm sure the announcement of any type of sequel would take a lot of the steam out of the hype for it), even a spiritual successor. I like the idea of them messing with a new IP, but I was hoping to see another entry in the Souls series better than DS2.

When I google 'solomon kane bloodborne' I don't get anything... like, it doesn't seem to be the name of a graphic novel or enemy type, etc. You're acting as if the 'bloodborne' is an obvious SK reference that's tightly linked to a Sony Solomon Kane game, but unless i'm missing something it isn't. Correct if I'm wrong, please - I've never read SK....

I mean, couldn't it just as easily be Project Beast's name will be Bloodborne (or something new altogether) and not have anything to do with SK? Where are you getting that they must be making a SK game- hence claiming 2 pirate games if this isn't what PB ends up being?

Related, a Sony funded Souls project would not care if it takes the steam out of some Namco Bandai DLC. From Software itself don't own any of the related IPs so aren't exactly in a position to control the IPs.

Again, it's certainly possible. But the only real image that makes it look similar is a character's stance (walking away from camera) combined with a cape. It's interesting, sure, but that's about it.

I actually don't mind if it is; I'm assuming the SK universe is interesting enough to warrant people deciding to go that path, and I'm down to check it out. Heck, I might even read up on SK.

Not at all. There have been a few games that didn't end up in NA, but those are the exception, not the norm. I won't be renewing when my EU sub expires.

I've posted a long post before describing the dlc and being clear that you don't need any of the DLC by any stretch of the imagination.

However, if you want to get some dlc, this is what you should get:

The largest rainbow coin pack -- you'll never need to worry about money. Gamebreaking? Sort of. You'll never need to wait to buy any of the best equipment, and never need to be concerned about paying for healers again.

The 50,000 pearl pack for 3 to 6 of the characters. Again, you don't need this, and it will OP your chars, but there is some benefit (pearls are earned by killing blows, so you never need to make sure one character gets kills to earn pearls).

Baldren -- first character, sword, balanced.

Trisha -- archer. a bit weak mid game, gets real good later.

Dozeru -- tank god.

Gorodo -- attack god, weaker def

Serena -- mage, aoe goddess.

Zelorus -- mage.

Having read up on 'best characters' on the net, the basic consensus is 'any set of 3 that doesn't include Zelorus'. However, you probably don't want triple melee (baldren, doz, gor) so swap one out at least one for either Trisha or Serena.

Or, just buy all 6 dlcs... they're only .69 cents each.

You could also save some money by just getting the 10k bundle for all characters.

Optional - the 3 amulet pack. Again, not really needed. Good for making OP characters for endgame, but by that point you can get the amulets yourself.

Again, despite the TONS of dlc for this game that make it look like it's F2P hell... it's not. The game is balanced for zero dlc.

That said, I did buy the money, and the packs for Baldren, Trisha, and Dozeru because lately I've been playing the game 'in the background' and didn't feel like even thinking about micromanaging Trisha's kills to make sure she earned pearls. (Later in the game, she gets skills which kill tons, so she'd eventually balance out anyway w/o dlc or micromanaging).

 
I'm about done with the 3rd mission in DC. So far I think the game sucks. Playing elf. It's just very...dull. I about fell asleep playing it.

TBH I'm not a huge fan of the sidescrolling brawlers that have vertical movement. You invariably end up missing attacks because your character is slightly up or down from the enemy. It's a really annoying approach to side-scrollers; either make them locked onto the same height level or make it a different game type, IMO.

 
Is $4.99 the normal price for the Kingdoms of Amalur DLC? Just wondering since it's not listed in the OP. If that's a permanent price I won't hurry to buy them today since I haven't played much of the main game yet.

I bought the bundle back when the vita version was released, in case I felt like playing on my ps3 too. So far, I've only played on my vita but tbh that was expected.

it's great on vita, but like you said, the bundle isn't much more. i've got around 30 hours into it, eventually going for the plat (hopefully before the sequel, rainbow sky, comes out).

a nice little pro-tip -- after you've seen a spell animation a few times, you can click the right trigger to skip it.

They are usually $9.99. (I'm tempted myself to snag them but I have it all on PC)

 
Thanks to everyone who responded with their opinions on the Mass Effect DLC currently on sale.  I appreciate it even though, like many others in this thread, I am going to hold off on buying any of them as part of this flash sale, with the hope that the rumor of the trilogy and all of its DLC being ported to current gen is true.

However, what about the Amalur DLC?  Have any of you purchased them?  Are they worth it?  That's not a game that is going to be ported to current gen anytime soon, for obvious reasons...

everyone seems to avoid the dwarf, but I thought he was the most fun class by a mile - once you get the flurry punch powered up you'll want to just go up to bosses and tankpunch to see the giant numbers. the archer is pretty boss too but it takes a while for it to get interesting. most people seem to enjoy the magicians but I found them less fun in general.

What discount? An upgrade discount? You're dreaming...unless there is some sort of discount for those who purchased it digitally. Even then, it seems unlikely. Also, I enjoyed the gameplay.
