Watching the Gamespot recap. Some good looking Indie games. Abzu looks interesting. Not sure if it will be fun but maybe? I'm interested in any case. No Man's Sky looks amazing. Etc.

They should definitely go cheap this year, or some crazy bundle with gift cards...or both. I never owned a 360 until earlier this year lol.

 
Just got back from the the theater, the code they gave us gives access to Destiny and Hardline betas within a week of now ir something, plus a 5$ PSN voucher and 30 day plus voucher

Yeah that $5 code from the theater was sweet. we left early and they said we could take an extra lanyard, that was before we knew what the code was for. I should have grabbed 5 extra. Oh well $10 free is still nice.

Well, not gonna wait until September for a white console (and a game I'm not interested in), so since there are no other bundles announced it's time to buy a PS4.

Glad to see more standalone DLC, especially for Infamous. Other than that, probably won't be using that PS4 for a whole lot other than Resogun and Mercenary Kings. Good way to spend ~$435

 
I thought they showed a bunch of good stuff, but the pacing was terrible. I'll check out that Powers show, but man did that go on too long, especially without showing it.

Hey, I actually really enjoyed this conference aside from the long-winded focus on Powers. I want Arkham Knight even more now, and I was already planning on getting it day one. I haven't been interested in any LBP titles until I saw LBP3, which is impressive. Deep in the recesses of my mind, I've always wanted to play Grim Fandango, so the remasters on PS4/Vita are abso-freakin'-lutely perfect. Bloodborne looks promising, though I need to see gameplay. Dead Island 2 is being made by the Spec Ops: The Line developers, so I'm immediately intrigued by it.

Oh, and Uncharted 4: GIVEITTOMENOOOOOOOW

Overall, I'd give Sony's conference a solid 9/10 (would have been 10/10 if The Last Guardian or UC4 gameplay had been shown).

One thing's for sure: After today, I'm all fired up to continue the Assassin's Creed (Brotherhood, Black Flag) and MGS (MGS 3 HD, MGS 4, Peace Walker HD) series in the hopes of being ready for their new installments. :joystick:

Yeah, it and Powers were the only duds, IMO. BTW the streaming issues were horrific in the movie theater. That shit was loud.

BTW, the giveaway for the theater thing was a Destiny Alpha invite (6/12), Battlefield Hardliners beta invite (6/16), 30 day music unlimited trial (6/18), and $5 PSN (6/18). I'm not clear on whether Battlefield is PS4 only. At the least I'll have 2 Destiny Alpha and 1 Battlefield Beta invites to give away. Probably 2 of the Battlefields.

Awesome that FC4 lets you invite friends. I've never played one, but now I'm tempted. I have FC3 from PSN but have been putting it off to get it at ~$5 on PC since it's a FPS.

The PS Now Beta mentioned is an open beta, BTW. So everybody can play it.

MKX looks amazing. I'm not a fighter kind of gamer, but that makes me want to play.

Overall I was pretty impressed. I thought they showed a lot more exclusives, a lot more gameplay, and did a lot more with the presentation than MS. MS more just walked out, went down a short list of games we already knew about, and rehashed the same crap. It says something that the biggest draw of their presentation was the (admittedly cool) Halo collection.

BTW the wife hated every bit of this but LBP3, though she also thought that chick was way too loud.

PS: Grim Fandango was and is an awesome game. Costume Quest 2 and a Grim Fandago remake? Take my money, Double Fine.

No Man's Sky was easily the most exciting thing at any show, as I was glad that somebody picked up that game. Bloodborne looks really cool. I can't wait for the Grim Fandango remaster so I can finally play that. Entwined is a neat game to play. The PlayStation TV will be nice to have so that I can hopefully capture Vita, PSP, and PS1 stuff nice and easy now.

Inside and Ori and the Blind Forest looked great for Xbox One, though I wish they didn't just confine the ID@Xbox stuff to a sizzle reel and Chris Charla just rattling off random names. The rest of the Microsoft press conference seemed to be mostly known stuff and sequels/remakes.

Watching both shows back-to-back, Sony had much better presentation to it with the whole letter segment that Adam Boyes had to announce a bunch of stuff and more time to showcase indies. Microsoft had a more straightforward style that did what they wanted, but didn't make it out to be a special, once-a-year event.

And by busy downloading I mean waiting for it to hit PS+, purchasing it, and then never playing it.

I'm surprised you're getting No Man's Sky and Grim Fandango for PS4 when they're confirmed for PC as well Frisky. Just personal preference or is it concern over your rig's specs?

So the E3 experience in theaters was pretty cool. Better than I expected. Talked shop and made some new friends in line, exchanged gamertags, and overall felt more engrossed in the presentation watching it with a theater full of likeminded individuals clapping and cheering along.

Swag included a PS4 branded lanyard, poster displaying the order, batman, destiny and I think farcry, access to the destiny alpha, battlefiend hardline beta, free $5 psn credit, and a music unlimited 30 day trial.

The PC isn't my primary platform, so I'm not buying anything on there over a console if a game will still be just as good. Plus, I can get a second copy of that stuff when it's dirt cheap in a Steam sale, so it doesn't really matter anyway.
