Seems like it's going to be completely optional from what I understood, so I don't see it exploding into a huge cash cow. They may make DLC characters as those Amiibo characters and that would be very lucrative. But there's no way Mario's not in the game already, so why would people bother buying the Mario Amiibo?

well i guess 1 good thing about a bunch of good games coming out in 2015 is that we have about 1.5 years to finish as many games as possible from our backlog lol..

Yea showing a Mario one really threw me off. They also talked about a Donkey Kong and Link one if I remembered right. I don't get why they'd show characters that should be in the game. It makes me think you'll only get to use that mii character until you buy the figurines.

Can't blame Bayonetta for being Wii U only, but it is disappointing since I have absolutely no interest in jumping on the gimmick train, good games though it has.

You know Tyler, how Platinum Games aren't worth a shit? They're also remaking Bayonetta 1 for Wii U and including it with Bayonetta 2. Sony piss and slap doesn't even compare. 

 
All these gaming sites are talking about how Zelda is going to be open world. Apparently they've never played a Zelda game before because they're all open world. Zelda was one of the original open world games.
 
They won. Not saying they will win after E3, but they won E3. That was far more entertaining than Sony's and the games look great. And they did it without even having a "regular" press conference.

Alright the Amiibos are just a pay to win type of thing haha.

Smash Bros. for Wii U, which is scheduled to release Holiday 2014, will be the first game to support amiibo. Each figurines will retain individual level data and beefed up stats for customized Smash characters -- this will include support for custom move sets. Nintendo's amiibo will use the near-field communication sensor of the Wii U GamePad as the means to exchange information to and from the figurine.

I don't really consider a game open world unless it doesn't have loading screens or area switches.

Xenoblade X looks...okay. Kinda low-res textures and the lack of gameplay is annoying. I'm really not a fan of announcing games that don't show gameplay. I get that a story is important, but cut scenes aren't something  you play, they're something you watch. They don't count for much from a game perspective IMO. Sony and MS had the same problems yesterday, though.

 
Ok, well like i had thought in my blog, reading peoples hands on impressions of the Order on the show floor and it is looking much better than that bad trailer they showed yesterday!

To be fair, the game was pretty as hell. Our theater had some people cheering when control prompts popped up during what we all thought was a pre-rendered cut scene.

But yeah, the scripted bit last night didn't really give an impression of what the actual gameplay would be.

If that was only a small portion, they messed up showing that part. The gameplay shown last night felt nothing like Gears but a rail shooter. However everyone that has played it says same mechanics as Gears, which is why i was more watching the trailer for the looks rather than the gameplay parts.

I dont understand how anyone who watched the Nintento stream could possibly because be confused about the Smash character amiibos. He literally broke it down and spelled it out for like 5 minutes. Has nothing to do with unlocking characters. The amiibos can be summoned in battle to help you fight, to fight each other, or to challenge them yourself. They earn exp and level up their stats however you choose, have customizable movesets, and supposedly use better tactics the more playtime they see. They earn more exp for fighting other amiibos but still earn it for fighting CPUs and players as well. This creates the possibility for new CPU opponents who heavily outclass the standard Lvl 9 difficulty we're accustomed to.

Honestly, the only thing I'm confused about is why they went with calling them "amiibos". Is it supposed to be a mix of "amoeba" and "amigo"? Why not just "amiigos"? What up with that "b"?
