I wish that trophies were added for tools of destruction and quest for booty...

The shotgun is laughably overpowered so hopefully it gets nerfed.
I'd agree with you if the map didn't make it so easy to locate enemies. If someone allows you to get that close to them then they deserve a shotty to the face. I didn't know what to think of the MP at first but I ended up enjoying it the more I played it.

Single player was okay but definitely has that "empty" feel that you get when running around solo on Borderlands. Without the humor or charm of Borderlands, friends will be a must with this one.

This felt more like a polished demo than an alpha. Definitely looking forward to the beta and ultimately the release.

Destiny Alpha --  wow.  I played this for about four hours last night.  It's addictive and amazing.   Did not feel like an alpha in terms of quality, only in terms of content.    From a mp perspective I'd say it felt most like Borderlands 2, where I quickly teamed up with some random and we explored, completed missions, and such.   It's cool to see a hub world full of people, and you see other teams on your map as well, which came in handy against stuff like the 'event' monster that appeared at one point.

We definitely came across some impossibly hard enemies at points, but it may just have been we were underleveled (my weaponry in particular sucked).    The 4 classes seem nice, though so far I like the lewt better in BL2 (just the massively wide variety, easy to try out new weapons, etc).  The weapons in this alpha feel great, just not as diverse/interesting... more 'military'.  Which makes sense, BL2 is all about the lewt.

Impressed.

Playstation Now --

I've only played this for about half an hour so far, but I spent most of that time focusing on 'response' time.    I was playing a samurai game... and honestly, if you handed me a controller without telling me it was PS Now I'd never have guessed.   It felt fluid and fine.   My ps4 is on a wired connection with a decent (middle tier) internet service.    No lag, controller felt just as responsive as any other game, and the visuals weren't skipping or tearing.

The visuals weren't 'great', but I'm not sure if that's psnow's fault or that's just how the game is.  Plus i was jumping from ps4 to a ps3 game.  I'll need to try some games I've already played.

Overall, though? From all the hand wringing I've read over the last yearr, I was expecting it to feel like I was playing off servers... but it was great.  No complaints.   If the pricing tiers and game selection is solid, I could see myself joining... though it would have to be cheap as i already have a backlog+plus.   Best case, if ps+ gave me a free rental or two a month i'd be psyched.

I played 2 hours last night and hour the night before. Last night was with a friend who I have been gaming with on and off with for years. He likes Halo a bit more then me but isn't in love with it. Doesn't care for Borderlands 2. We logged tons of hours playing Gears, COD, Halo, BF4 and others. Anyway we both loved this Alpha. Probably get another hour or two in today before it expires.

Odd timing but I am also playing Boardlands 2 now. I bought a PS3 on Friday and a co worker wants me to help him with some of the over leveling stuff. So I started a character last night. The worlds do feel semi similar but the colors are richer in Destiny. The weapons are a bit more futuristic. We did just co-op stuff so I can't comment on the death match type stuff which I generally don't like anyway. I hated the shotgun in Gears in MP and suspect that would be the same in Destiny from your comments. I hope there is more of a loot system in Destiny when it comes out.

Destiny alpha was indeed pretty sweet. I enjoyed the competitive multiplayer a lot, but I'm not sure if it will be my new "go to" when it comes out. Not sure what to make of the "campaign". The first mission where you fight a wizard was cool. Then I went to some other area and it looked like I was just supposed to just wander around doing side missions and fighting random enemies. I'm hoping for a little more direction in the final game. I also hope they can pull off a good story with how open it is. Seems like a cool universe and I wouldn't want it to go to waste.

We can question the half a billion dollar budget given to a game, but not to a website from a game company.

Bias!
Weak.

True, but that doesn't address having to face people equipped with one. Especially if you're trying to capture a base. Maybe I'm mad I didn't have one. My sniper rifle is just as deadly but obviously less suited for close quarters shootouts. In fact shooting from the hip seems like a no-go. Could be I need to adjust to Bungie's style of gunplay. I will say...that Warlock supercharge...lawdt. So nasty. Nabbed a triple kill with it.

I agree the game seems heavily built around MP. Even more than Borderlands. That's why I'm hoping to find a good clan or two at least for the campaign. I don't mind randoms (actually made two buddies) but some people can be so dense. One guy on my team kept getting destroyed by the spider tank's missile even with a clear indication it was about to happen. Ain't nobody got time...

go to orbit, then drop on the level 6 section of earth. It's a "story" level.

I played with three friends the mission where you fight Sepkis Prime. Holy shit, even comunnicating and being level 6/7, we found it a bit long. That and the added enemy waves. Haven't got any level 10 loot (hehehe) but I have some level 8 that is pretty sweet.
All in all, Destiny wasn't on my radar at all and this convinced me to buy it.

I barely was able to get Destiny Alpha loaded last night and going to just play it some tonight....i wasn't one of the lucky who got a code early. Been busy today too but will finally try it tonight....i'm about ready to make my pre-orders for the next few months haha.

PM if you need an alpha code.

Spent time with Destiny. To me, at least, it feels like a cross between Borderlands and Halo. Nothing revolutionary (which brings into question the half billion budget) but it's fun. Also has an MMO vibe going. Random "events" occur between missions so that's cool. Keep having my ass handed to me in PvP. The shotgun is laughably overpowered so hopefully it gets nerfed.

My chief complaint are the bosses. Not sure if they scale to your level or just have crazy amounts of HP but the shit is ridiculous. Only compounded by the fact I couldn't communicate with my teammates. Took us close to an hour. Other than that, I'm sold after previously being on the fence. Day 1. Hopefully we get a CAG clan going.

None of you seem fit for parenthood but happy father's day anyway.
I was lucky to find friendly random mic players from the getgo. I really liked just being dropped into a world with on going battles, missions, etc.

There are definitely enemies with massive HP... we went down a few tunnels only to 'nope', turn around and run.

We faced some big enemy (spider mech, don't know name) that was a massive bullet sponge. I didn't totally understand all the mechanics at the time (still don't, really) so kept running out of ammo and needing to die to reup. I know some enemies drop ammo crates but since we were in a big battle i wasn't (and am not) sure how to get ammo any other way.

I'm currently level 8 or so, i like getting new weapons... but the weapon diversity in bl2 seems much more natural and organic. like, for example, i can look at a shotgun or sniper rifle stats in borderlands and basically know how it's going to work, maybe do a test fire... but there's so much diversity within a single weapon type -- shotgun spread, element type, speed of fire, etc. So far, all my weapons in Destiny feel 'same-ish', just different damage output. But that might change, i have some level locked weapons. There's a lot more lewt in bl2 too... I never quite understood when/why i was getting new lewt in Destiny.

Real Boxing Vita review ---

This one's cheap this week, so I picked it up.   Overall?  Worth it at this price, but I'm glad I didn't buy it new.

On one hand, it's better than I expected, on the other it still has a 'budget' feel to it.   There are some odd hit box things going on at times, but it's consistent in it's oddities so didn't ruin the game for me.    It generally controls well -- dpad is your left hand (jab, hook, uppercut) and the buttons on the right are your right hand.   You can also use the right analog for both hands, but i preferred the other.    Left analog is movement.    Left trigger modifies to body punch.   Right trigger is block if hold, dodge if click.

Overall? It's a fun budget boxing game.  No plot.   Just three tourneys, 9 or so fights each.    You can raise some stats (strength, stamina, speed) and it really makes a difference.

I 100%'d it in two sessions, nothing particularly hard.  I enjoyed it, but i like boxing games.  It's a few steps back from the bigger budget boxing games but at the same time it's actually better than I expected.

My biggest con is that I beat the game using almost exclusively counter hooks... i never felt the need to do body punches to hurt enemy stamina, etc.   Oh, and enemies look different but don't really show much diversity in style -- you wait for a punch, dodge, and clock them.    Worth the buck and change if you want to beat up some digital foes and get some trophies, but you'll be getting exactly what you expect -  a serviceable budget boxing game hampered by exactly the things you'd expect it to be hampered by, and nothing more.

Verdict - worth the buck and change I paid for it, but you're not missing anything if you skip  it and i'd be pissed if i paid more than i did.

I just used RIGHT HOOKS though the entire game and won with no problems. yea for 1.75 its not a bad game but glad i never paid 6 bucks for it. And the way the game is set up is sort of stupid. Each rank has 9 fights but FIGHT 8 and 9 is like the final four. Fight 1-7 is just normal fights that give you points (10 for a KO win 5 for a normal win ect ect ect) after 7 rounds the top 4 move to the final four.

Also when you start off in career your stats are like 66% in each stat (what can be maxxed for 100%) you earn between 2 to 3 stat points per game. so your going to max out your fighter very fast

its just too bad you did not start out at 0% it would of added at least another 50 to 60 fights to the game.

ALSO there are no TITLES you just fight win you move to the next bracket type thing.

i think i went like 25 and 2 though the entire game took like 3 hours to beat it so not bad for 1.75 but would pissed me off if i paid 6.

the vita needs a real boxing game.

I have three death mode levels left I think and I don't honestly think that I will ever manage to beat them.
Hey I thought the same thing about the Death Mode levels but eventually beat them. The luck of note placement is very key but I'm sure you know this already. Keep at it and you'll get through the rest.

I thought the same thing when I started to play them. Basically what Bumslie said. It's 90% luck of where they put the notes. Then when you get that other 10% opportunity you gotta not fuck up. There were a few though that I had that same mentality.

@slidecage and affa...I pretty much echo the same things about that game. It's great for 1.75, but definitely not even close to a full featured game. I also felt the collision detection was pretty far off at times. Easy to pick up and play though. Need a Fight Night for Vita.

So, what team will Lebron go to next now that the Heat look like the Cavaliers version 2.0?

Only thing more boring than watching the Spurs play is the World Cup. The Game of Thrones finale on the other hand...

Yeah, the drops felt same-y. Hopefully it's due to the level cap. The few interesting weapons I did find all came from the encrypted engrams. I can't remember if those were dropped or rewarded at the end of missions. Some of the legendaries are definitely interesting, though. I got a rifle that disintegrated enemies so that was cool. It also appears some can be upgraded and customized.

I redid the strike mission with a new team and found it more enjoyable. Bosses still had tons of HP but not as bad when we focused firepower on the weaknesses (in the case of the spider mech, its legs). Also took @top's advice in the crucible and paid more attention to the map. Didn't get blindsided as frequently. Shotgun still feels cheap but getting some distance makes it less a headache. Domination is my least favorite mode in CoD but I enjoyed it here.

The final level in DeadPool on Ultra-Violence difficulty was stupid-hard (huzzah for passing the 3000-trophy mark!). :joystick:

Now I just have to do trophy cleanup in the various levels on the easiest difficulty plus some challenge levels and the plat will be mine.

I dominated in the mp by paying attention to the map. Even made a sharefactory clip of my first match. Getting that game Day One is a must if people want to enjoy the mp before it flood with OP players. Playing SP will be crucial to dominating in MP and that sits fine by me.

Warning: Total n00b AC Adapter-related question incoming.

I messed up--I plugged in my Vita last night at ~8:30pm EST to charge and forgot to unplug it until this morning at ~7:50am. Did I damage its battery in any way?

Have you given up on the plat for R&C 1?
Probably. We will see. I couldnt get the stupid glitch to work for the million bolts, so I went on to R&C2 and Luftrausers (also some NCAA 11 strangely) in between. I will probably go back to it once done with the rest of the trilogy. But I wont work on the glitch that long. I dont like messing trying to get a glitch to work for hours.

Just making sure - are you asking if you hurt your vita by leaving it plugged in all night? No. Mine sits on the charger (cradle) all the time except when I'm playing it for an hour or so every day. These days (at least with smaller electronics) the old too-many-charge-cycles-significantly-reduces-battery-life problem is much more uncommon - I presume that's why device manufactures got ballsy enough to start making non-removable batteries.

hmm... I don't recall having that much trouble getting it to work. :whistle2:k There are other good places to farm if you don't mind actually playing the game to get them. One that comes to mind is the
section where clank gets huge
. Also, bolt multipliers in challenge mode.

Thanks--that's a relief.

I was able to glitch through the wall easily, but once there it didnt look the same as when the guy in the video did it. I looked up other videos and they all looked the same, but I was in a slightly different looking area. Once behind the wall, I would try to get out of there and down to where the race is but couldnt move. I was stuck in the wall or unable to get anywhere near where I needed to be.

Also, I went to the Clank section as well to see about farming and even there, in Challenge mode, I didnt get more than a couple thousand bolts at a time. Seemed to be a huge waste of time.

Yeah, to be honest I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't get the glitch to work.

Lithium batteries don't have the "memory" problem that NiMH batteries do/did. They still have charge cycle limits, but you actually help the battery by keeping most Lithium batteries plugged in -- the device draws grid power instead of battery power while idling / in standby, which reduces cycle count.

Yeah, to be honest I wouldn't have bothered if I didn't get the glitch to work.
Yeah man. Thanks for the assistance, but it might not be in the cards for me. Not a big deal. My only real goal when playing games now is to get C or better and keep my average completion % above 42% on psnprofiles, while getting rid of my backlog. Though the backlog never really gets smaller due to plus. I will just have to get rid of or throw away some PS3 games once I move on to PS4.
