As of right now it's definitely working, I had fallen asleep last night before getting to try it and just now it was working. It's pretty and controls fine but I lost interest pretty quickly which is disappointing.

SotC, Ico, and Dead Nation have all been free on PS+ recently (last 5 months). LBP hasn't been free on PS+, but LBP2 has been (left it a year ago.) PSASBR is probably the only appealing deal in the list for me. R&C for $10 is just way too high, same with $17.50 for Tearaway when it's been around that price for a physical copy.

It's just a very poor sale with an over-abundance of old titles. And listing Flower 3 times? Really?

SotC is a good pick-up (I like it more than ICO), the HD version fixes the low framerate issue of the original game. I'll probably pick-up All Stars (or maybe wait for the inevitable $3.75 price) and Twisted Metal for $5.

I love it, making lots of progress in to the dark realms of the digital backlog. and I'm actually running out of things I'd want to get on ps3, so it's best not to have the 'I'm so damn cheap, just buy me anyways' temptation (coughcoughrealboxingcough).
 
So did anyone get to a part in the Destiny Alpha where it became good? I didn't. Find beacon, kill everyone. Repeat. Sometimes you pick up shards after killing them. Sometimes you don't. Super terrible attempt at Borderlands too - you have to go to the tower (and a long loading screen to it and a long loading screen back from it) to turn the generic shit you pick up into weapons, instead of just finding weapons and immediately using them? Brilliant! Or did I miss something? Oddly enough the opening chapter was by far the best part, even though it was generic and entirely linear. It seemed like a standard FPS to me and not a very good one. But it's hard to judge an alpha I guess. Still, I'm not sure what they succeeded in showing as being better than any other FPS.

Yeah I don't mind. All that's left that I really want from PSN for PS3 is AC Liberation HD, Mirror of Fate HD, and maybe Brothers and Blackgate HD.

I love the series, so I would say to play them. The first one has the worst controls. Once you get to Going Commando, they get much better (I still liked the first one though). Tools and Crack in Time are pretty awesome games.

 
Had a strange gaming weekend. It included Destiny Alpha, Hardline Beta, Heavy Rain Gamma, and Zelda Wind Waker Delta.

I really love Zelda, always have, but I've realized that the in-between stuff in some of the games are the worst parts. I feel like the in-between Dungeons stuff in Wind Waker is a slog for the most part. It could also be that I've had the game since release and I'm still piece-mealing it. I played through Twilight Princess (which is much better than most people would have you believe but takes awhile to get going) without rest and it was more enjoyable. I'm playing the Gamecube game and it still looks great even on an HDTV which is pretty sweet. It took me a while to re-acclimate myself to the controls. It was fun realizing about an hour in that I had already gotten the quick warp ability after I sailed across the whole map for no reason! Maybe once I finish up Heavy Rain it's time to finally finish this up. I'm not quite as far as I thought, (thought I was near the Triforce quest but I have a dungeon to go before that).

Destiny Alpha was 10000000 times better than Hardline and I'm not even a 1st person, person but Destiny was pretty sweet. I'm also having a great time watching Heavy Rain. My only gripe is some to the controls are dumb at times but what are going to do?

I think I might finally buy Flower. I'd also like to get Entwined, but a tad worried after hearing that the recent patch mucked it up. But I'm sure they'll fix it ASAP. I hope that the Vita version will be cross-buy. Have we heard whether or not this would be the case?

I spent my Fathers Day at Hershey Park with my wife and kids. It was awesome! Perfect whether and small crowd. I think this will become a ritual. The lines were super short or non-existent even on the big ticket rides all day (actually a 45 minute wait for The Comet in the morning, but then 0 to 10 minute lines on everything the rest of the day). Plus our oldest (13) has finally become a coaster fiend. Riding partner! :) Kids are awesome! Take that, Tyler!

Of course I finally gave in and bought Hot Shots Golf Vita for $10 a couple weeks ago. At least it was physical. Might switch to digital for that low if the saves carry over. It's hard as fuck to find a trade value though. Nothing for BB or Target and Amazon says $.21 max. I found $2.50ish in the GameStop thread at least.

meh, seems like devs usually use the same engine for a game if the first one is a success just to expedite getting the sequel out the door so they don't miss the popularity window. since the engine is already built and optimized for last and current gen they'd be pretty foolish to not try to make additional money off the game. I expect (like many devs) they're now porting/rewriting/optimizing their in-house/customized 3rd party engine for current gen and you can expect that process to be done in time for the third TR iteration to be next gen only.
 
Hey Pete, weren't you the one who mentioned gaming at 4 am? Is that your way of getting more time in beings you have kids and whatnot? I'm trying to find a way to squeeze more time in myself.

I'm in same boat, my wife and I don't get a lot of time together with her being in graduate school. So I have to leave for work at 7 a.m, so I get up at about 5 and get 1.5-2 hours of gaming each day guaranteed! best way to do it!

I think that's the way for me to go as well. I leave for work at 6 each morning, so I have to be in bed early. By the time the little one goes to sleep and I catch some TV with my wife, it's time for bed. Maybe I could go to bed a little earlier and get an hour or so in each morning. :whistle2:k

Yea my wife is glad I do it, a way to get me time without interfering with the family at all, I get a little less sleep, but I can function on a lot less sleep than most.

 
I find it much easier to stay awake later than to wake up earlier to play games.  If I was going to get up early I would use that time to workout instead of playing games.  But thankfully I decided waking up early wont work.

This is me exactly, except I choose to stay up later to play. Which usually means I fall asleep halfway through a level and wake up dead or running into a wall non-stop.

At least my public transit commute is over an hour each way so I can get some good Vita time in most days.

I workout Thursday through Sunday. I get off earlier on Thursdays and Fridays, and it's easy to find time for it during the weekend. Gives me time to do it without taking away any time from other things.

I think we all probably have this issue from time to time. For some reason though I seem to always have the good sense to just stop somewhere and when I come to, my character is just standing there doing nothing. I then try to start moving and nothing happens and it takes me 5 minutes in my sleepy drunken stooper to realize I have to turn the controller back on.

Count me among the stay-up-later-to-get-in-more-playtime crowd, though I'm much more of a night owl in that I don't fall asleep while playing. :razz:

 
I wish they would unban tyler already so he could chime in on the crappy PSN sale and staying up late vs getting up early. I'd also like to know what he's eating for lunch.
