Ah, now I remember which game had an easy, automatic plat (as long as you play on Hard): Terminator Salvation. :lol:

I tried playing that game. I would not say its an easy plat, but thats not because the game isnt easy. It was so fucking bad I couldnt play it after the first or second level.

 
Can't you turn off the notification now that a trophy even pops up so that you could actually just never look at your trophy list?

The thing I always thought was a big difference is that with trophies there is more of an incentive to actually go for them all since if you finish all of the base trophies you get the platinum whereas with achievements it's more of a score. Trophy-wise it seems like people go "oh I have X plats" and achievements is like "I have 100k gamerscore"

I am pretty sure on the PS3 at least I noticed you can turn off on screen notifications of Trophies. Should make it easier to ignore them that way.

I wouldn't call it easy but it is fairly short especially for the time it came out. A lot of people consider the length of time it takes to get a platinum to be the same as the actual difficulty. I do believe it had local coop that did make Hard mode easier.

Z-Run looks so terrible.

It also costs an absurt £7.39 in England, so what, $12.99 here?  Maybe $9.99?

Game looks like it might be an alright buy at $1.  But no more than that.  Most miscalculated digital launch since Zombeer, which was also about zombies.

I didn't even notice it till I think last night. I was going through the options and saw that.

I didn't used to care about trophies and achievements at all. Little by little I started to want to get achievements on XBox. Then when I got my PS4 and Vita I decided to give up caring about my XBox Achievements and just focus on my PSN rankings and trophies.

I will look at the list after my first play through and if I enjoyed the game go after ones that look fun. If I really enjoyed the game and it didn't have an insanely grinding trophies or MP ones I might consider trying to platinum. I usual get bored with most games before I can grind out all the trophies though.

I am on the fence with getting the platinum for Borderlands 2. It is one of my favorite games. I played it including all the DLC on my 360 and for the last week+ been playing it on my PS3. A coworker got the platinum and wants me to help him with some of the over power levels. His main character is 72 over power level 2.

My main guy is almost level 41 and I am a bit over halfway though my second playthrough and have roughly 30% of the trophies. I still enjoy playing the game a lot. But not sure I want to spend weeks more on it when I have a ton of other games I want to play before Destiny comes out.

Achievements are just one massive aggregate number. You can't tell anything from the number by just looking at it. If there was an indicator clearly showing how many games were 1000/1000 I might feel the same way.

Isn't there a statistic when looking at your gamercard on the console that says "Completed Games" or whatever? I remember seeing that on my 360 representing how many games I had 1000/1000'd.

It's really not bad at all. The only hard/grindy trophy is Challenge Accepted. After leveling up 3 toons to the max, there was like 3 of them I didn't have and they didn't take much time at all. And I didn't keep check or aim for any of them along the way.

I can see that then, was just curious really. But in fairness, trophies are the same basically. If you just look at your Gamer level (star number) and % bar to the next number, it's the exact same concept.

It's not even the dissenting opinion, it's making something out of nothing. Instead of just ignoring them or turning them off he's being a hipster about it making sure everyone knows he's above trophies.

 
My trophy addiction doesn't seem like a problem until I realize I have to hide it from my gf and real life friends because they would never get it.

There is, though I think it was added during an update and hasn't always been there.

I have no real issue with achievements and trophies for the most part. But if I can only get one by using a certain gun, vehicle, or Paul Goldschmidt then I think it's a joke and I want no part of it.
 
Guys, I have one of my analog sticks rubber banded and my right trigger taped down so my car drives in circles to get one of the platinum awards in GTA V. Does that make me an awful person?

being within a few trophies, no matter how shitty, of hitting 100% / plat is definitely my kryptonite. that's where the dumb stuff I do for trophies really comes home to roost. it's idiotic and I'm definitely less susceptible if it's a game I hate (despite the ridiculous drama at the beginning I definitely liked TR), but there it is for the world to see.

I remember doing the same thing on GT4 on PS2 for an endurance race (which is crazy, that wasn't even for a trophy), so I'm in no spot to judge.

Heh, I know this was directed at me, so I just have to say. . . talk to me after you 100% it.

I did meet a ton of great gamers 100%ing UC2 and 3. Say whay you will about online trophies, but the co-op challenges in those games are super fun, and I never would have tried them if it weren't for the trophies.

I love trophies like that that encourage me to push myself or try something I wouldn't have.

I do admit that I'll check out a trophy list before I play a game to see what I'm up against. But I don't think I've ever not played a game because of trophies or achievements. That's kind of silly. And I've been lucky I guess in that I haven't played too many games that I just don't enjoy playing.

I used my socked foot under my desk to keep my vita screen active during a week of work days to get the 24h in create mode trophy for LBP vita. I have no room to judge.

I forget how I did that one. Speaking of Vita, I can't wait to get that Smart As plat and get it deleted. I've vowed to not play anything on Vita until I'm done with it. But I only have 63 or so stars because I keep forgetting to play it.

I did grind out 100% in U2...it was bad but at least there were plenty of others in my same boat to play and talk wih while boosting it

U3 maybe someday...kind of spent on the online grinding games for now.
