What's crazy is that we're likely going to have all eight group winners go through and at least six of the games have been incredibly tight and gone right down to the end.

it's definitely not (well, unless you're on mobile and it's like 3 keyboards deep to find the brackets), but I think it seems apparent that no one's going to do it. you may as well be breakfuss asking people to stop talking about trophies, or stotch trying to lose weight.

I already have SteamWorld Dig on the 3DS and I'm going to buy it again. I picked TxK at launch with the PS+ discount as did affa and chewy. So go buy those games and you'll thank me later.

I don't know much about Steamworld but just based on what I've heard I'll guarantee it's good, though it might be a bit short.

I actually have to do more research on TxK, it just looks cool and people were loving it when it came out.

Does/shouldnt Sony do something about developers that have glitched or impossible trophies?  Since Sony forces all devs to use the system I would think they would try and curb issues with them.

I grabbed SteamWorld as I've continually heard good things about it from all over the place.

I have a bad feeling we are all going to be really fuck ing depressed next week without new free games to download and yell about.

Oh, you meant the Survival mode one. Yeah, that sounds mind-numbingly difficult, and if it did turn out to be glitched that would be like taking a punch to the groin after weathering a punch to the gut.

I doubt it, Maybe antsy come end of the month. It would take me all month to finish those 6, maybe longer. Plus sales every week. Work on the backlog? We'll be good. Besides, always good conversations here.

Pete. Serious question. Should I cave in on Octodad? Do they merit me supporting them? Depending on your honest answer, I'll buy it.

I somehow resisted buying Ollie Ollie and some others this week.  I'm so proud of myself. I dropped around $40 on pc games I'll never play though (Ultima series, Might & Magic series, and a handful of steam games). Been playing Desktop Dungeons (love it, I played the free alpha into the ground).

I really wish vita would get more roguelikes.  Playing something like Sorcery Saga only reminds me how streamlined (for lack of a better word) console games tend to be. I like that too, but i do wish more complex games were also on vita/ps4 (thinking mostly games like government/military management sims, RTS, roguelikes, etc). I don't want to have to game on my pc for number crunchingly difficult strategy games. I feel like a solid menu system on vita would solve the 'no keyboard' issues some of those games would have coming to consoles.

Have you tried Adventure Bar Labyrinth? It's a free PlayStation mobile roguelike and it's pretty good. If you have a Wii, Shiren the Wanderer is great and cheap at Gamestop. It's not Vita but it is $5.

^ Is this a joke? Man, I've spent the last 3 days railing against this very thing.

Steamworld Dig...so tempting. Idk, though, has the scent of PS+.

About to queue up these PS4 plus games from my phone so they'll be ready for me. Feels guuud.
 
Had to grab steamworld dig at that price.  On a side note I was all excited to get Muramasa Rebirth free only to realize I picked it up when it was on sale for 7.50 not to long ago. haha

the developers really do seem like cool genuine people who are trying to do something different and they mostly succeed. it's the only game that I've played as far as I can recall that made me laugh out loud. plus they're releasing that free dlc which is pretty rad. one of the devs once mentioned that he was inspired by the mcdonald's menu when making the octodad menus and seemed a bit upset when people joked about it because he really likes mcdonald's. genuine.

it's short as hell (2 hours maybe?) and really drags near the end but it is funny and has some entertaining trophy challenges. it's definitely not something you need to play -today-, but I hope that people do try it when it's closer to their personal comfort price for taking a chance on something unknown.

tl;dr skip it today, $5 or less if it's not calling to you

I would say yes. What's the point of forcing them to implement trophies when they don't have to work?

No, not a joke this time. I mean I dont care as much as you probably do as you get way too serious, but I would think Sony would not want devs to have botched trophies. I guess I missed you talking about this. I dont know what Sony can really do against a dev, but I was curious if we know anything.
