portable ops is the reason i bought peace walker. only metal gears i've finished besides 1. i might play the others some day. probably should have kept my hd collection on vita(come on plus)

yeah we had most of those games on sale in the Eu and for better prices, ni no kuni was like 5 bucks in the flash sale.

So the rumors were true about Strider. Very nice. Glad I passed on the XB1 sale last week (not that I would be terribly upset to double dip if it's as good as the originials). I'll definitely be playing that this weekend. Hope it is faithful to the core of the franchise. Almost bought Towerfall during the Steam sale too. Lucky week!

 
Wow, I somehow forgot Portable Ops existed! I think I somehow melded that into peace walker because I ignored the acid games not caring for the card battle gameplay. So I've finished 1-3...still need to finish 4 (playing now) and swing back and do portable ops, peace walker, and Ground Zeroes before 5....backlog again. At least 2 are portable which should help me finish those.

What the hell are you going on about now Stotch? I couldnt even read half of what you and the new guy were going back and forth about.

Tomb Raider was awesome in an uncharted kind of way. Still not as good as Uncharted, but is right up there with one of my favorite games this year.

Not trying to hurt your feelings, but things just seem to go from one extreme to the other to you. Either you hate it or love it. It's ok to have dislikes about something, but it doesn't mean you have to hate it or say it's terrible.

Like, you didn't see the bigass post I posted a little later on how I said the game was thoroughly mediocre and not up to the pedigree of the past games?

Honestly, I'm not sure where you're getting this love it or hate it thing. Don't read into my posts too much lol

Edit: Yes, I do think Ass Creed Vita is really bad. I do. I didn't play too much of it, but that's a game I really do think is poorly made for numerous reasons.

I'm not even sure of the point that's trying to be made here since most people would agree Uncharted 3 is the worst in the series and the DS4 is leagues better than its predecessor. But, okay? Not even close.

My point is if you love Uncharted 1 & 2, there's no way you hate Uncharted 3. Sure, it may not be as great as the other 2, but they are still by and large the same game.

I also wouldn't say the DS4 is God's gift to Earth while the DS3 is crap. They are different, but not that different.

I still want native DS3/DS4 drivers for Windows. I know there are wrappers, but that's not near as good.

I like the DS3 better than the 360 controller. XB1 controller is better than either, but the DS4 is nicer than that as well, IMO. The XB1 controller just feels weird to me with the analog and d-pad placements; I'm used to the DS3/DS4 layout and keep catching myself reaching for the XB1 d-pad left and up from the left analog instead of down and right.

They're different enough that I can tolerate playing a shooter on the PS4 unlike PS3. But because everyone is different, everyone is going to have a different opinion on the subject from others--DEAL WITH IT. It's also very easy to like one entry in a series, but not another (Gears of War, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, Disgaea...just to name a few).

I can see feeling that way with those series, Final Fantasy and AC especially. UC didn't change as much as those do from entry to entry though. That's my point.

Based on my trophy timestamps, Id guesstimate I played about 4-5 hours after getting to that point, and it was my second time playing the game, so it is likely a bit quicker for me than it will be for you.

ETA: And I finally got a full weapon upgraded 1 hour before finishing the game.

I hate the shotgun. Getting the kills needed for the trophy with that thing seemed to take forever. I did not remember it being so bad in the PS3 version. It almost made me wonder if they changed it for the PS4 version.

For sure. Uncharted's aiming always felt a little loose to me with enemies that take more bullet's than they oughta. In Tomb Raider all of the weapons felt like had some oomph to them.

As with every other game I've ever played, I don't like the shotgun. I've almost got my 40 kills with it, it's the last weapon trophy I have left to unlock and then it will be relegated to my last-choice weapon again.

Shotguns in games just do nothing for me. I prefer quieter distance aiming, the bow and arrow is really cool when you're sneaking around taking out guys one at a time.

It's funny but I find myself grabbing a pistol in a lot of games going for headshots, I thought I was weird for not liking shotguns in games. Even machine guns are annoying sometimes. I feel like I have more control using a pistol sometimes.

In most games I would agree. In Tomb Raider, I went for the bow. If I was surrounded by a ton of enemies, I went with the machine gun. I only used the shotgun to blow open closed off areas as needed or to suffer through the kills needed.

Yeah, this is me too. Love headshots. But I'll usually use the rifle in whatever game I'm playing to go for headshots, and the pistol as my backup when I run out of ammo.

In Tomb Raider I also use the bow and arrow a lot more than the pistol because it is silent. Still use the rifle the most though.

And on that note, do any of you feel as tempted to throw the DS4 like a boomerang as with the DS3?

Yeah like I said before Tomb Raider is all about the bow. Probably the best bow in any game I can think of to date. Especially with those awesome later upgrades.

Anyone play Putty Squad? My gut instinct tells me the answer to this next question is no...but is it worth $7.99? That's the current Best Buy sale price and it trades in for $9+ right now...I may try it out.

Maybe I'm weird as well, I hardly ever use a shotgun in shooters.

Unless you forgot to go for the trophy related to them until after beating the main game and you had to find specific locations where you could pull them off (pun intended). It seemed harder to actually pull guys off ledges in those areas compared to naturally doing so over the course of the game.

Oh, and the Bow was my jam during my TR playthrough. I always love sniping/headshots. :joystick:

Well, when the guy can't put together a coherent statement because it's clear he's trolling and didn't expect anyone to call him out on being an idiot, then it's no wonder I won. I wish it was Breakfuss, at least he would've given me a challenge.

Also, if at any point a response to a disagreement contains an "lol", you automatically lose.
