Someone mentioned it in the 3ds scribblenauts thread. Otherwise, it isn't a game I've been keeping tabs on. That was my thinking as well, but not sure if it was worth it.

I don't have shit to do on my lunch so I'm gonna go run and grab it and check it out tonight. I've kinda had my eye on it for a bit though I don't really understand exactly what it is. Maybe I'll watch a couple gameplay vids before I complete my order.

 
I dont normally like shotguns either since most games require you to be right in front of the enemy for any effectiveness.  I do remember the shotgun being effective in the old Doom games though.  Also, Ratchet and CLank have a cool "shotgun" as well.  Thats about it though.

 
Shotguns in Tomb Raider are awful. Actually, I'm with the side that says they're awful in most games. R&C definitely was a better example though of them being good.

The real answer is only if you are a trophy whore like myself and do not have Gamefly. I have actually played the entire game twice. I got the plat on Vita as well as PS4. I will play it again on PS3 once it hits Gamefly too. I am not sure I would pay $8 to get any version of it though.

I think it is, but I have memories of the older games. I paid 13 for it and dont regret, but it doesn't have much staying power. Its pretty hilarious to have a blue ray with a game that's only 250-500mb on it though, haha.

I think I'm gonna pass. I was just considering it would be a free rental basically. But that's assuming I make time to play it right away and I'm not sure about that. Based on the responses, I don't think I'd be missing out on much anyways.

$8 was the right price for me to give it a shot. I had a $5 BB cert expiring at the end of the month too so that made it even easier. I'll just pop it in tonight and check it out. If I like it I'll play through it this weekend and trade it in to BB (if the TIV price holds) or Amazon which I already locked in.

If I don't like it I'll trade it in as well, tomorrow. Besides gas and a little bit of my time, I'm not really losing anything on it.

 
The most prominent thing about Putty Squad (PS4) to me is that it looks and sounds like a shiny PS1 game. That's...kind of impressive if you think about it.

Not sure about Duke, but Gears and Last of Us do have some gnarly shotguns. Obviously you are supposed to use shotguns when the situation calls for it in a game (close quarters/corridors), not all the time. Cant think of any game where it is used most of the time or even like half of the time (House of the Dead 3? Doesn't really count).

I'll try to catch some of it. I dont think there will be a bum rush to get all the Putty Squads, so as long as the price holds I may still pick it up.

It is not an absolute terrible game, but it is not the greatest either. Many things about the game play they do not even tell you what to do. If you see a cat roaming around, let it kick you, then absorb the bomb it drops. That is like an old school pow that kills everything on the screen when you use it. If you are too close, it hurts you too. Other tip, absorb the little red guys that shoot rockets, then you get a rocket shooting power up too for about 3 shots for each guy you absorb. Those 2 things I had to figure out on my own and it was much harder than it should have been at first.

Also, I realized I might have taken longer at the end of Tomb Raider than you would need to. I was trying to get all the collectibles as I went along as well. Maybe it wont take you so long.

 
i remember my friends banning some shotguns in our rooms on rainbow six vegas 2, cause they were basically faster firing sniper rifles. most random rooms i joined were all shotguns and famas.

 
I'm confused.  Is the Atelier Roronoa bundle a deal, or...?  It must not be.  Actually thought about buying it such is my bizarre love of bizarity, but I'll await an actual deal.

 
Someone quietly removed the Child of Light Vita demo from the release list yesterday. I thought I was going crazy not being able to find it on both the web store and the Vita store, but it's not listed in the final store update post, even though it's in the Drop post. Bunch of lying liers.

No backlog? Summer drought has never affected me. I'm working towards my goal of having no more than 10 games backlogged right now though. Slowly but surely.

I am not a big fan of shotguns in most games either. A big part of what kept me from playing most of the competitive DM modes in the Gears of War series. I hated how over powered the shotgun was. I also hated I couldn't master it. I would shoot and miss to often.

I am playing BL2 (as you know) now. I looked yesterday and what I need for the Challenge Accepted trophy. One of the many things I am missing was some of the simple shotgun challenges. I played through the game twice and a bunch more online and didn't even have 25 kills with the shot gun. So I equipped both of the conference call shotguns I already had and forced myself to play with them. They are pretty impressive and do a bunch of damage. I still rather use some of the pistols and SMG weapons though.

The faceshot or buckshot or whatever its called challenge was brutal. Probably the worst one, because like you I didn't play with shotguns too often. Also, it used to be a hidden challenge that only unlocked once you completed something else. I think they changed that now. A lot of the better weapons in that game are definitely pistol/SMGs/snipers. I thought the ARs and shotties were pretty lackluster in comparison. Favorite weapon to use is probably the Pimpernel sniper though, by far.

If I'm remembering correctly, as long as you have the shotgun equipped...grenade kills count for the challenge as well. (maybe not, I'm a bit rusty.)

Edit: Ehh, I was thinking 5000 on the shotgun challenge but I did all 5 levels, 750 isn't too bad. And its called open wide. And it's not the one that's hidden. Rust bucket is me.

Yo, if you're up for co-op any time, I'm at level 31 on my main Gunzerker. I'm on the last chapter and am probably just gonna do some clean-up on side missions that we all love in this thread.

I certainly understand the feeling. I'm trying to hold off on buying a PS4 as long as possible, but you guys make it hard sometimes. I'll probably end up making the jump on Black Friday unless a deal similar to the Rakuten deal pops up between now and then.

I will add you. I think side missions only count for the host? Plus I did more of them with my 50 so I am doing the clean up there.
