Novembers's Trophy Invitational Tournament:

Game: Spelunky Daily Challenge.

Objective: Best overall score after 7 days of the Daily Challenge
Prize: A couple intimate pictures of Hope Solo from my private collection
 
Spelunky Rules:

  • You MUST be friends on PSN with both myself (tylerh1701) and Crunchewy so that we can track your scores on the Daily Challenge Leaderboard.
  • You MUST register for this tournament using the poll in this topic.  We have to know who is entered so we can track all the scores.  The poll will be up from today (11/7) through Monday (11/10).
  • This tournament will be scored using the Daily Challenge mode of Spelunky, which can be accessed through the main menu.  Everyone get's one shot at the same randomly generated level to get the highest score possible.  Score in Spelunky is determined by how much money you have at the end of your run.
  • Gentleman's Agreement: NO GHOSTING! (if you don't know what ghosting is, then don't worry, no way you'll accidentally do it)
  • Gentleman's Agreement: Don't look at the leaderboard scores until you've completed your run for the day.
  • The challenge will start with Tuesday's (11/11/14) Daily Challenge.  The challenge usually opens the night before around 7PM Eastern, so you may want to consider that the challenge starts Monday evening.
  • The last day of the challenge will be Monday, 17/11/14.
  • Daily scoring will be tabulated based on rank on the Daily Challenge leaderboard.  Scoring will depend on how many entrants we have.  For example, if there are 10 entrants, the best score on the Daily Challenge will be awarded 9 points, next best score 8, etc. all the way down to 0 for the person who comes in last.
  • These scores will be added up over the week and a winner will be declared at the end of the week.
  • There will be two separate winners declared, one for Spelunky pros and one for Spelunky novices.  We'll figure that out as we go along.  I don't want Spelunky newbies to be discouraged from entering!
General TiT Rules:

  • You MUST have your PSN gamercard in your signature on CAG to compete in the tournament.  If you absolutely refuse, you can privately PM your PSN identity to both myself and Vigilante where you will be asked to prove it is yours.
  • This challenge is part of the overall competition standings.  The top 5 finishers will receive points.  1st = 10 points, 2nd = 7 points, 3rd = 5 points, 4th = 4 points, 5th = 3 points.

The only thing that you guys could do to possibly get on my nerves personally would be that stupid post count record. I won't take offense to anything said. 

And I totally didnt watch the Doki Dummy stream, I should have but was loading up Brotherhood to start on my AC series runthrough.

It's all good. I had never played it before, but I couldn't have picked a worse game to stream. Way too much reading and text and the quizzes aren't nearly as cool as I thought they'd be.

should of just started with ac iv black flag, that is the only good one/best one to date.

I couldn't bring myself to do that, I've enjoyed the AC series so far. Plus when I get there, it will be all the better having just played Brotherhood, Revelations, and ACIII

It was a joke; I wouldn't hesitate to post the same thing in the other thread. I just think that it's a little silly that we have to have two threads. I'll write one or the other off; I can't see myself jumping back and forth between the two of them.

Not saying that this was a bad idea, just that it's stupid that it's come to this. Those dirty steamers aren't doing any stupid shit like this because they're all of the same tardo mind. We've got dissention in the ranks and now this.

i couldn't stand all the previous ac entries before ac iv black flag. i literally had to drag myself, and look at my clock, when i played brotherhood, revelation, and acIII waiting for it to end soon.

Yeah it's stupid. Like I said the discussion is probably going to get fractured. I wouldn't mind if this thread took off and the other one died though. I mean, I'm sure none of the regulars use Frisky's OP anyway so it's always been just a discussion thread from the get-go.

We'll see. It's definitely dumb.

Definitely agree. I feel like we basically just got told that the Steam thread is bigger than CAG itself. I could also see the PSN thread fizzling out if this one is accepted, likely drawing us more attention.

 
ok we can give this a shot. we've got enough pro copy pasters that'll hang out here that I can stay. I can't keep track of more than one thread at a time.

Yeah I definitely get a warning or anything from Trakan.

Then after my 7 days expired I was moved into perma-ban status for another day or two. I eventually had to create an alternate account so I could PM Trakan and see what was up. He fixed the issue for me thank God but I thought I had been permabanned.

I enjoyed the first 2, especially II. I just started Brotherhood for the first time, so we'll see.

My suggestion would be that everyone needs to PM someone they would want to make sure knew about this thread and let them know. I dont want to keep up with two threads, and it should be pretty damn easy to make sure we're all up to date on the store/games.

off topic: mutant mudds is still great, hasn't pissed me off once. the multiple tiers of play on the z axis is super nice touch.
