A BRAND NEW CAR!!! Na, I just wanted to beat wren, and get on Zimm's nerves. Mission accomplished. I probably would have taken longer than anyone if it didn't turn into a thing. Join in, it's only a buck, and I bet you can beat Zimm.
I might do it later if it's still open.

We just had the carpets cleaned so we're going to go to a BBQ while it dries

If what's still open E? You can play any time and post things months later if you want. We have jokes from 6 months ago still going in this thread.

Oh, okay.

I wasn't sure if there was like a deadline for this or something.

I'll do it later in the evening then. I still have like $3 Psn credit to burn.

K, someone else write up the contest details and I'll paste them into the OP.

I'm not sure how kosher it is to talk about sharable and phantom accounts both on CAG and PSN......you gamesharers would know a lot more about that then I would.

Also this would only work for PS3 games, right? PS4 and Vita games aren't as sharable, correct?
It depends on who you ask. Head honcho at Sony was all for this and made several quotes about he encouraged it among users. Then I think he was eventually let go, and they revised the rules from 5 per console down to 2. PS3 games can be shared between 4 people, PS4 between 2 people, Vita not at all. Unless you want to go individually and pass the game around, that would work with any of them I'd guess. But yeah, most people keep it on the DL, mostly for fear of it being whacked altogether.

I was kinda hoping for PS4 though, it would encourage people to get one if they win a free game and don't have one to play it on. But I'd settle for ps3. It's probably the most played, and what others would want.

I'll let Stotch do the honors of writing it up, since he want's to take charge of it. But if he doesn't, I can do it.

same here- played the first one but have been hesitant to start the other two-- are they that bad?
If I remember correctly from when I played on ps2..the last two were more open world with way too many fetch quests and terrible vehicle controls. I hated the 2nd and the 3rd was ok.

Gamesharing talk is cool here, we're good. PS3 is cheapest to share, but PS4 can be as well. It's just restricted to two people per share instead of four, so it's more expensive.

OP has 34 likes, not 32 like the title suggests.

Tyler, if you want us to even begin to respect you as thread head, then get your shit together and at least make sure the title is correct.   If you can't handle the pressure, maybe somebody else can.   This isn't the slums, and we shouldn't have to stand for crap like this.

Nice to know that I finally have a schtick in this thread as the "takes a long time to 100% old shitty fighting games" guy. I have arrived?

I think you've already arrived as cartwheel guy. Lol, I'll let it go if you don't want it. But if Equistina beats your time, you're totally getting dogged some more.

right. It isnt the slums. Its the bowels.

For the lottery thing I suggest I originally envisioned something simpler.

Everybody paypals their raffle money to a trusted person.   We use a site that does secure no-cheat raffles (I'm sure one exists) to pick a single winner every month.   Fund owner then buys the game of choice on amazon, shipping to winner.

I suppose buying digitally to some sort of alt-account could work too... but it seems far more prone to issues (getting people to log out, etc) plus wouldn't the creator effectively get permanent access to it?  It just seems a little more complex trying to manage logouts/ins than simply buying someone a game.

It's more complicated than that, but fairly simple affa. Basically, you can make an e-mail acct, and PSN acct. Fund account, buy game, and remove payment info. Then, you can pass that info to 2 "phantoms", who can sign in, download, sign out. They never touch the account again and just play it on their main, and it will work. Then their accounts are deactivated, so it can be passed to the 2 other 'main shareholders'. They would have permanent access to the account, until deactivation. Thus 4 people could share a ps3 game so we could have 4 winners instead of 1.

And if people are diligent about playing the game and don't mind, they can pass their share off to someone else when they are done. Win for everyone.

We can do PS4 that's fine, I'll change the poll. Just less winners.

But we would only be able to allow trusted people to enter, right? Any single person could completely break it by changing the password, right?

Thanks for your feedback, but I have no plans to accept it.

You were probably good with PS3, it will be easier that way. And yeah, it's extremely easy for one bad egg to ruin the dozen on that front. I'm not sure of the best way to go about that.

This looks really cool and it might be my first kickstarter. I'm confused about this part, though:

Add-Ons: $5 PlayStation 4 + Vita CrossBuy Digital Download
So...you contribute $5 and you get the PS4/Vita PSN code? It's not listed anywhere else on the page and when you go to the contribute page it's not listed there in the reward breakdown, either.

Edit:

Ah, looks like you have to hit the $10 minimum to get any of the rewards, then later on the PSN key costs an additional $5. Lame.

But wouldn't this effectively mean one person (the buyer) would effectively have permanent access to an ever growing account of AAA games, one per month? And if at any time, some sub-account winner doesn't properly exit the account on time (or whatever) we'd have a major issue?

EDIT -- okay, reread... they create acct then remove all details. but wouldn't they still have 'ownership' of said acct?

Oh... perhaps you're talking about creating an entirely new account per game? Would the same person be setting up the 'winner' account every month? Wouldn't that give them full access to the game for free every month?

At that point, are we eventually are going to try to be maintaining people trading around old accounts? Confused.

I'd greatly prefer a 'one and done' physical game winner, but perhaps that's just me.

I used to gameshare a ton, so am not adverse to it in general... I'm just concerned that in a situation where we have upwards of 60 people giving money to something we should have it as clear cut as possibly. Shipping someone a game every month would be nice and simple. No gamesharing, no worrying about setting up/maintaining/deleting accounts... just a new game in your mailbox if you win.

Ownership is gone when the account is deactivated for that person. New owner/s can change info and share accordingly. Yes, the sharing of the credentials could be bad if someone decides to be a dick. Not sure what to do about that. And yes, new account for every game, it would have to be that way or it wouldn't work.

I'm not opposed to the physical, but that leaves just one winner instead of 4. And if that's the case, I'd want it to be a PS4 game, or at least rotated now and again between systems.

I'm assuming we'd have to come up with a monthly poll to vote on the title and platform, which should work out fine.

I'd still rather do the shared account though, for the sake of more people feeling it to be worthwhile to invest their $1 every month.

Also, would entry be limited to once per user, per month? Or as many entries as wanted? How would we work it so that the cut-off is 60 people? Do we do carryover funds each month so everyone who wants to can participate? A lot of questions need answered here before anything gets set in stone.

if we do it, i don't mind managing it either. i've managed multiple mult-year game share groups in the past, as well as other shit like that.  though again, would ultimately prefer just amazon priming a game to the winner.

What the shit? There are no details in post #4. Lies!
God, so many critics today!!!

But yeah, I'll help facilitate all this but I'm not interested in managing any of it. I need someone (possibly Prof) who is going to be in charge of it all to write the description.

Boy, Tyler's not going to like this: I think I enjoyed Limbo more than Braid. :joystick:
I enjoyed Limbo quite a bit, but Braid is definitely better.

See this is just disappointing.

WHERE THE fuck WERE THESE GOALS ON WEDNESDAY!??!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

fuck I hate 3rd place games.

Before you guys get this thread shut down (which matters to me because it entertains me when I'm bored), lotteries/raffles are one of CAG's big no-no's.

Shit really? I've never heard of this. fucking idiotic rules and like quotas....I thought that's why we moved here in the first place, to get away from the rules.

I actually have no problem with Layton. I didn't get all the way through the first game because I kinda just got tired of everything besides the puzzles, but it's actually a fairly cool game.

I just want you to change the avatar to something without him in it.
Good, good, you aren't wrong about everything. But it's never going to happen.

http://www.frys.com/product/7414765

Fry's has Resistance Collection for 19.99 with free shipping. I just PM'd to Best Buy since I had a $24 GC there. Ended up paying a couple bucks in tax due to shipping being $3.99 (they couldn't match the Fry's free shipping, apparently.) Would have been a better deal if a local BB had it in stock, but none of them did.

I have PS Now and my 30 days expired on Dead Island Riptide. When I went to play again it ask me to rent and it offered me the 30 days free again.

I think topside was talking about not finishing a game with his son on PS Now can't remember why but maybe now you could.
Yeah, it was Ben10 but we couldn't finish it because there was an error showing the game was no longer available. We still had plenty of time left on the rental but we couldn't access it.

It actually expired on Tuesday, but since you were able to renew yours for free maybe there's hope I'll be able to do the same if they ever fix it. Thanks for the heads up.

Are there 60 people you would trust here or do you only really need to trust the one person keeping the money?
Very true.

If we get more than 60 participating per month though, what do we do with the extra? Or should we just do it like, every time we build up $60 we have a giveaway, and not worry about once a month?
