This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I think it'll carry over A. because they capped the rank at 8 (if they're resetting, why cap it there?) and B. because they opened the beta to everyone yesterday, so nobody can rightfully bitch about it being an exclusive beta.

I don't see it carrying over, kind of prefer that it doesn't. But I won't complain either way. I kept going deeper and deeper into the core of the moon and finding these places with cool names but they all lead to big doors I couldn't open :(. Can't wait for the full game!

Same here. I like to start fresh. Plus most betas don't carry stuff over, particularly in-game items. Emblems/icons/banners? Sure.

Biggest gripe so far is the enemies respawn a bit too quickly, though that may be a function of the beta (presuming they want to encourage higher levels, quicker).

Also, turning left to right after sprinting is ridiculously slow. And after playing Titanfall, it is a bummer that you can't pull up on ledges. Or run on walls.
The respawning enemies is a lose-lose situation for them. Since you can have multiple fire squads on the same map doing different missions that pass near the same area, they kind of need to have a fast respawn. I know I've been disappointed when I started a mission only to find 3 other people already doing it and me having no enemies to kill. The fast respawn helps with that.

I absolutely hate the left to right after sprinting mechanic. I think it's just dumb with how damn slow it is. Even with a high sensitivity, it feels ungodly slow.

I'm on vacation in Antarctica, so I have put Destiny in my 360 queue.  But I just finished downloading it on Uncle's PS3, and Destiny is the fuck HIT baby!!! I love that game, it feel so  fuck good, the controls goodness gracious melee'ing enemies feel so darn amazing i get orgasms after knocking shit out.  Bungie delivered alright, I'm blow away.  In fact I'm going to pre-order Destiny right now.

MMO factor has such profound effect on me, I became so social all of the sudden and made few nice friends in guardian tower they are helping me to level up.  Graphics are amazing!!!

Live went shit for me right around the time I finished Halo Reach's solo campaign on Legendary, so I just unlocked 3 major achievements offline. Incredibly annoyed, you'd think Microsoft's servers could handle high traffic after all these years.

I Got 4 cheezmints from Marlow Briggs without a time stamp now as well because of them not realizing people want to play video games online. The good news is thank God that online only XBox One never happend.

You'll need to be online to unlock achievements though.

Was able to get 2 dance videos on the Moon, but matchmaking was broke at the time so there is only 2 of us.

Ugh, this constant internet connection method of play is getting worse. Everytime I try to go to the tower I get disconnected.

Then on the Level 6 story, I get booted when 2 of the 3 arrays have been cleared. It was fun to play with two others though.

Finally made it to gold on Bing rewards and it instantly changed my daily credits to 30/day. Going to take a little bit longer since I need 3 searches/credit but I should be able to get $10 a month if it holds.  I need to get a phone that I can use for the 10 credits per day for mobile searches.

I really like Destiny.. but for me to buy it for full price... or even over $20... the full game is gonna need alot of changes and addons.... ...  i am a huge Halo fan... but uhh... I think my money will be better spent on the new Borderlands game.

I personally didn't like Destiny at all. The PvP seemed very unbalanced, the story didn't seem to matter, and the missions felt WAY too linear. I went from waiting to get this at $40 or less to not wanting it at all during the beta. It seems my 2014 will end with sports and racing (The Golf Club, Forza Horizon 2 OR The Crew, NBA 2K15) and Halo, unless CoD somehow doesn't suck.

I agree the missions felt very linear. I like it, but only because it still feels like Halo to me.

For me the hype was always way too sky high (unfairly so) for this game, even before it was officially revealed. It'll be a solid game, but not revolutionary.

I think what sold me on the game was the "MMO-ish" feel to the game, that I've not seen in FPS-RPG games, at least not on consoles yet.

The game does, however, try to appeal to multiple types of gamers: the FPS crowd, the RPG crowd, the MMO crowd, the Borderlands crowd, the Halo crowd, and to an extent, the Mass Effect crowd. It does, in my opinion, pull some of this off pretty well.

What put me off was the PVP element, where the same experience of other shooters, like Call of Duty was very strong. You had all the classic makings of a bad experience present: the campers, the vehicle whores, the teabaggers, the people who kill spammed rather than securing the control points, the sniper "leets", the debatably "overpowered" class, (Titans with armor), and people already taking advantage of glitches and areas of the map that shouldn't be accessible.

My opinion may be biased though, as I'm more of a cooperative multiplayer game fan than I am a competitive multiplayer game fan. Fortunately, there is more than just PVP to this game. Unfortunately, there is quite a bit of repetition, like mob spawning and missions, in the exploration side of the game. I'll still get the game, and still have a decent amount of trust in Bungie to fix some of the more mundane and irritating parts of it.

I'm a fan of competitive fps games, and while this one had it's fair share of problems I was still having a lot of fun after I played a few matches and got used to it. I did maybe 25ish matches in the beta overall. The camping/going for kills and not objectives may just be because of that mode, they didn't give us a deathmatch so people like me who prefer that style of playing didn't get that option in the beta. The snipers and honestly it was the Hunters with their golden guns hitting me from far away that were the biggest things that bugged me, but I'm sure they will balance a fair amount of the stuff by launch, I know they are already changing up the vehicles (Removing interceptor spawns right away and making them shoot slower). I didn't see any glitches/people out of the map though that I noticed. As for teabagging, it may be/seem kind of douchey but in a way it's a Halo/Bungie standard, they had days dedicated to it and had special physics for it in Halo, so in I way I don't see that as a bad thing haha.

Destiny felt like a Halo/Star Wars mix, was pretty fun but not making me want to run out and buy a new console since it runs fine on 360. Will watch for it to go on sale next year. Not gonna preorder, felt too much like other games I've played.

Try explore mode. You can go wherever you want and do various non-linear side missions. In MMOs story missions tend to be linear.

They punish you for exploring in Destiny, though. There's lots of ?? level enemies just around the corner (or downstairs). I think that's one of the bad points about the game (beta).

There aren't many. Most of them are in dark tunnels that make you feel uneasy before you even reach them. We explored everywhere on Tuesday, even the ?? tunnels. Not much in those tunnels other than a bunch of scary dudes. One exited out to a bunch more scary ?? dudes. We awoke one that was sleeping and it was a very bad idea.

The more I think about it, the more that it seems like it's story related quest spaces that they just have intentionally blocked off with enemies that just can't be killed to keep people away from those places. An invisible or holographic wall would have been much better to keep people away, but it's probably easier to just set certain enemy spawn areas to have invincible foes instead.

There are several dark areas, especially in the open world area. Some are really well hidden. It's just surprising that exploration is actually not encouraged.

Pinball FX 2 releases Thursday. I'm half expecting that to be the free game which would be terrible.
developers said theyll be releasing 1 table free when it comes out, i think sorcerers lair. what were all really waiting to see is if MS lets us transfer table licenses from the 360. im guessing theyll want a $5 transfer for all your tables fee, which is horse shit, but I may do it since I own nearly all the tables on x1

If it's like Rock Bans and it's that one time fee that's fine with me if it's just $5. If it's per table that's ridiculous.

I agree with the negative assessments on Destiny MP. I only played two matches, but I won the first and lost the second and don't feel like either was in line with how the match was going. Also, color coding the team scores could be handled better.

So how exactly do you unlock the level on the moon? I beat the Level 6 story on Earth (with help from two other players; lots of fun) and I still can't access it.

My main problem with Destiny is still the always online aspect of play. Maybe it's because of the beta, but I'm constantly having trouble getting the Tower to load.  The story isn't all that great, but the gameplay makes up for it.

Based on what I've played in Halo 1 and 2, Destiny is better.

The Moon was a 1 time thing yesterday. You'll have to wait until the game comes out.

I bought Amazing Spiderman and Jeopardy this week. Both are great buys, my wife and I have played jeopardy 4 times already and my son loves watching spiderman.

Best thing about jeopardy is my mother in law is coming to visit so we can prob get her playing that too for something to do while she's at our house. Might make it less horrible to have my mother in law at my house.

I want to spend some money!!! Just got my xbone and want to buy some more stuff but will wait till the announcement.
Well so far no retail games, all india/xblaish so your safe bet for now. Sony is the same way outside of Drive Club Lite, so maybe a Forza Lite in the works lol.

Top X1 games for me so far:

Titanfall, Dead RIsing 3, Peggle 2, KI, PVZ, Ryse and Super Time Force (which I don't own, hoping it goes GWG).
