I don't mind text bubbles in games. Typically I can read dialogue a lot faster than it can be spoken badly by bad actors. And you know if they use voice acting there's going to be outrage over whatever they sound like, because it's not going to be the same as the voice they imagined.
It goes both ways, Metroid Other M voice acting was so awful it ruined it but it could also really enhance a game like in The Last Of Us. Also for the outrage people need to chill and Nintendo needs to get over it. People will bitch no matter what. Link already has a voice anyway.

I'm looking forward to finding out if The Last of Us actually has a genuinely good story and acting. I'm skeptical but hopeful given all the praise.

Road Not Taken reminds me a lot of Don't Starve from these few screens I see and the description. The art style makes me think of Tearaway and Don't Starve.

Basically, if two who shitty games had a baby you'd end up with this game.

Also (too lazy to go back and get the quote)...how have you played Rogue for near 6 hours and not died 20 times yet? I think I die about every 5 minutes and every now and then I break off a good 15-20 minute run....only to get to a boss and then die.
You got me, but it's not like I haven't died often; I didn't count before I stopped playing last night, but I might have died 19 times by now. I guess I'm just that good. :whistle2:

I have gotten really unlucky with choosing some of the random traits just for shits and giggles. Upside down, inverted screen, blurry vision, black and white, darkness with a small flashlight....shit gets crazy.

You don't really choose, do you? You get what you get. I found that "choose your decedent" thing confusing because there didn't actually seem to be a choice. I don't have a problem with this, I just thought I was going to have decedents to choose from. Or am I missing how you choose?

I need to stay away from those floor spikes. They get me every time.

You get to pick from 3, I think some of the traits are based on that descendant thing for those 3. Nearly everything gets me every time, I just can't stay away from everything though. I hate those paintings particularly.

I haven't chosen anyone with one of those traits because there's always been a better choice.

It's descendants. Descendants. :shame:

Just realized Road Not Taken is coming out August 5th, but it's not part of the PSN Play promo for whatever reason, which is kinda weird to me since they hyped it up so much.

Which makes me think, maybe free on PS+?
#TylerPredictions - 100% true.

Neither, what's your point? That Nintendo can't ever do voice acting?
My point was that every game Nintendo has put out that's included voice acting (even if they didn't directly develop it, they most definitely had some say in how Other M turned out), has been abysmal, which is why I found you asking for it in Zelda and then referencing a terrible example with a Nintendo game (even if Team Ninja is largest to blame) to be amusing.

Also, Zelda has never been a game you play for the story, so I don't know why people constantly ask for voice acting when it's really superfluous to the overall experience I think.

It was just Other M was the last game I played that I could think of abysmal voice acting comparing to a game with good voice acting to show how it could hurt or help. If you want to use other examples that's fine. As for Zelda, we've seen the same formula way too many times at this point. I think some more story and voice acting would be a positive move forward. If a more open world is the only thing new I'm not sure how that's really moving it forward. I'm not saying it would be bad without the voice acting, but I would like to see it progress. I realize people are going to bitch if it's too different but they really mix up Mario within the same game mechanics so why not take a new chance with Zelda for a change? I think it's doubled by the fact that before each one they say it will be completely new and it's not.

Quoted so that when it gets deleted we can have this as a memorial.

Games are kinda meh for me this month. (Same as last month)

Crysis 3? I've never been a FPS shooter fan. Metrico, Fez and Proteus all sound like the same sort of 2-d platformer/puzzler minimalist style that's so popular lately. (In the style of Braid, Limbo, Knytt, etc, etc?)

I am excited for Dragon's Crown, although I wont get to it anytime soon. I haven't even gotten to  Soul Sacrifice or most of the other free Vita games.

I just don't see the story as being something that would really change the formula up enough to make it relevant again, or that there is any chance it would be good (I'm struggling to think of any Nintendo developed game with a good story). More likely it would just bog the experience down and we'd wind up with another Other M, which nobody wants.

By the way, that whole thing started because no one agreed with him that WWE would remove all PPVs/raise prices for their Network at the end of the year. Totally because of welfare and the white man taking the cash.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that already. I will be leading the charge of the "PS+ is doomed" brigade if we get Flower in August.
PS+ survives August. O:)

Maybe September??

You honestly make a really good point there, but then what? Just leave it the same for eternity and stop trying? I guess they get by because they are great games at the end of the day but it seems like lost potential.

Honestly I found the picture he was set off by to be pretty offensive (in the context used) too. Of course I would feel better for him if he didn't then go off on another racist moron rant.

I think he called everyone BLACK cunts. And inbreeders lol. And mentioned Obama. I smell ban.
As Stotch pointed out he didnt actually put all that together. He did mention blacks and obama and blacks on welfare complaining about whites. But I am pretty sure all people on welfare complain about rich white people.

I am pretty sure you are a rich white asshole. Everybody, get him!

No, like every long running series it needs to evolve or people will eventually lose interest (regardless of how good the final game is). I just think with Zelda that needs to be through mechanics, not narrative, which is clearly where the strengths of Nintendo and the series lie. I don't really have any good suggestions for how best to go about this, but I'm not a game developer, and still enjoy the Zelda games how they are (though I can certainly see the need to innovate; they've hardly changed in the last decade plus).
