This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

I went ahead and got a year subscription for the ea hub. Access to FIFA, madden & bf4 makes it worth it right there to me. Downloading FIFA and madden right now.

This is the game-killer for me on EA Access: Origin account required. Sorry, not using that hacked service. EA hasn't been forward about this. I have proof they were hacked, and emails and passwords were taken. My account was taken over, (I did get it back).

How I know that the emails and passwords were taken is that I had a password on my Origin account that was unique from anywhere else, and one day, not long ago, I got an email at the same email address I used for my Origin account, from some game service in Russia, welcoming me to my new account. What was interesting about this is that the hacker reversed the username and password, and used the password I had on Origin as the username for this game service. I managed to log on to the Russian game service, (the initial password was in the welcome email, which I translated into English), and I deleted the account.

I then secured all of my email services and accounts, with two-step authentication where possible. But, if the password was taken from the Origin account before, it can happen again. nothing has been brought forward on this, as far as I know. I did not have a payment option on Origin to be stolen, and I'm not about to add one. If they add prepaid time, through Gamestop in the future perhaps, I may change my mind, but no way in hell I'm putting a credit card on there now.

I didn't have to add a CC to my origin account, you're able to buy the subscriptions through the ms marketplace.

Did you pay with ms points?
Sorry if this has been answered I have t seen it
sadly CC only, I have a bunch of ms credit I could have used, not a deal breaker for me though.

Can you use funds in your Microsoft account? Does it make you sign into Origin to process the account/payment?
CC only, and I did have to sign into origin but didn't have to verify the payment. That seems to be all covered on MS's side. I went to sign up for the subscription and it sent me to the marketplace page for the subs. After buying the year it opened up the ea hub again and refreshed with me as a member.

what are the sizes for the games?
I only noticed FIFAs size and it was the normal 9gb

If your Origin username and password were unique from anywhere else, how did they get the password to your email?

I posted a couple days ago, but never saw a reply: has anyone found out how to fix the issue where the Xbone won't let you use credit as a payment option in the marketplace?

No, they didn't get the password to my email. I changed everything as a precaution.

The email address I had on Origin was listed on Origin's account settings. They signed up for an account on some Russian game service using that email address. The idiot used the Origin password, which I'm assuming they took or bought as part of a list somewhere, and signed up for the Russian game service using the password as the username, (my guess is they weren't very literate in English, and got the username and password for the Origin account confused, and input it backwards when signing up for the Russian game service. "Lucky" break for me, I guess). That is what drew my attention, and that is what points to them knowing the Origin password.

I'm staying away from Origin , at least with any sort of form of payment that can be stolen and used, like a credit card. If I can prepay for the subscription, I may do that. I have account verification turned on for Origin, but I'm still minimizing my risk, and going the prepaid only route if I ever use the account.

It should ask you after you confirm to pay with a CC. It is really dumb and I hope they change it. I would wait until they change it or make sure the CC account has enough money in it just in case.

This part of the announcement should be good for you then. I might actually wait until Amazon gets it. Still have $6 leftover from that promotion a few weeks ago. Depends on how soon is "Soon".

"Soon, fans of GameStop will be able to purchase their EA Access membership in local retail stores. GameStop and Amazon will also carry EA Access memberships for Xbox One gamers across Europe, as well as EB Games in Canada."

Good deal. I can wait, especially if it means protecting myself. Thanks for the heads up on that.

On the EA app it says ever evolving, so will they take titles off as well, or only add titles?

Has anyone who purchased the EA thing had any of the 4 games installed from disc?  If so, did they convert to digital versions or did they require a redownload?

So... for what i've read in last pages, people is willing to pay 5$ to play 2 hours of Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4...   but... why? I really don't get it.

No those games you download the full game and play as much as you want (those are in the vault) The 2 hours is for early access to games 5 days before the release you can only play those for two hours but your progress carries over if you buy the full game.

I've barely played Project Spark in the last month or 2. Spent 3+ hours playing it tonight. In those 2 months people have been busy. So many new good games out. I'm making a list and streaming a ton of games this weekend. If you go to Project Spark's website, you can browse through available games. If there is something you'd like to see, pm me and I'll add it to the list.

Sadly I don't think there are any Bad Rats clones yet.

A bit off topic but I'm having trouble using my credit on my account to purchase something on the marketplace. It makes me add a credit card instead and when I add one it doesn't let me do anything but charge my cc. Anybody know how I can fix it?

That has never happened to another single person and that is why no one bothered to put this in the first post and highlight in red!

Got a link for this?
I'm guessing there's some [fairly safe] assumptions being made based on this article from earlier in the month--which was also quoted by another CAG during the initial Pinball FX2 crossbuy discussion: (searchboxing FTW?)

"We began working on Pinball FX2 for Xbox One near the end of 2013 and cross-platform entitlement was the biggest discussion point with Microsoft," Mel Kirk, Zen's vice president of publishing, said in a statement given to Polygon. "At that time, there were technical limitations and policy restrictions that prevented us from allowing cross-platform entitlements."

Kirk said Zen noticed there have been developments on cross-platform compatibility, particularly with regard to Harmonix's Dance Central Spotlight, in which songs downloaded in the series on Xbox 360 will be available when Dance Central Spotlight launches in September. "These are fairly new developments and we are asking if we can offer the same."

Polygon reached out to a Microsoft representative to ask if the limitation facing cross-platform compatibility was in the hardware itself, the Xbox Live Marketplace or something else. This story will be updated with any response.

Update: A Microsoft spokesman replied that "with Xbox One, you are able to transfer add-on content from Xbox 360 to Xbox One for certain titles. We are working with Zen Studios to bring this feature to Pinball FX 2."

Anyone that jumped on the XB1 bandwagon courtesy of Best Buy's $303 trade in on the S units on Sunday need to go today and get a free $50 XBL card with a price match. It's the DOTD there and it's a 2 minute transaction...

Does anyone know exactly how the bf4 premium 360->xbone thing works?

I want to get it, but I'm out of town until 8/2 - so do you have to sign in and transfer/download to xbone by the 31st? Or just purchase it by then?

If it's like ghosts then you need to log into the system tied to the account that the 360 pass was bought on and go to the store (with ghosts I went to the M$ store through console) not sure if you could go to in game store also.

Purchase price will show free.

AFAIK you can't purchase in game content online for Xbox one games. Either that or I suck at using the xbox one online marketplace

So I'm currently browsing for the answer here but on the meantime I just redeemed that EA preview program code on the website and I turn on my Xbox One and I can't seem to find where can I access it since it's not on the queue or anything.  I can never find what I redeem on website go on the Xbox One queue for anything.  Where do I view what I downloaded from the website on the One?  Thanks.

Try reading the manual...

JK, well most of the times just go to your games and scroll all the way to the right.

Ha thanks found it. Now I wonder where do add-ons go when I redeem on the website, ha jk. Dang I thought this preview was going to be free to try out, but it's sub base already ah well. I could have gave it away.

Diablo III on 360 is 29.99 (50% off).

EDIT:  Sorry, it was mentioned on the previous page and I missed it the first time.
