So I am done with Sacred 3. Got all trophies but plat and max out all skills/equipment/combat arts on all characters. I didn't even go for my main character cuz I would have to grind another 50k or so, and I just don't have it in me. My wife and daughter really liked the game, but I told them we get Diablo 3 today and that should be even better. My wife and I tried to get the 'who you gonna call' trophy last night, like 20 times in a row with a 3rd person. no luck at all. we got on today and I noticed 2 players max level 50 in zargur and we jumped in and bam got it in one try. We just had to sleep it off and get that 4th person in there. yep. then we beat the final boss in 30 seconds. off it goes.

So im gonna try out drakengard 3 real quick, and then diablo real quick, and then finish bioshock 2 hard. but with all this talk should I go with Infamous 2 or Just Cause 2 after all that? and before Destiny...

n yeah that was lots of fun doing TLOU with you guys yesterday. When I went looking for ya later I got in a group of randoms that all had mics and we were having a blast so I was like its all good. Some of those guys have impeccable aim with those smokes/grenades/molotovs. I usually lob it over their heads or throw too close. Peace all

also yeah the whole news last night from 9pm-2am was live footage of the protesting. Lots of crazy kids with bandanas and gas masks, even this dude walking around with a huge sheet metal shield. The police tear gassed the media and crazy people do crazy things. They said no one is allowed to protest tonight or they will all be arrested.

Because PS3 at least didnt show rarity like PS4 does.

asshole

I was talking to keeper since he said he just started playing and shot a 42 just like you.

But I do need to clarify one thing. When you hit a ball out of bounds or lost it, did you count your drops?
Yup we count drops. Course only had one small water hazard though, though my friend who was playing for his 2nd time shanked it into the water 4 straight times. We just gave him a 10 and moved on after laughing our asses off.

But yeah, I score it the same way the PGA does. It just feels more realistic that way. No mulligans or anything like that. I wouldn't be bragging about my 42 if we played with a bunch of shitty perks.

I was just curious, I wouldnt count it against you if you didnt. I only like golf because I get away from the family a few hours, get drunk with friends, talk shit and fuck ing (attempt to) murder that golf ball.

Thats the best way to improve your game, but shit like captain's choice is really fun to. And a good way to get wasted and have a great time.

Damn, I had a delicious chorizo hot dog from a food cart today for lunch.  Had some pico de gallo stuff on top and some spicy sauce and some shredded cheese.

You're mom thought so.
You are mom thought so!

I use to play golf a little. Frustrating as hell, but then you'd hit that one great shot and it would get you to go again. Well, it worked for a while. I haven't played in many years. One thing I hated, as a newbie, about golf was feeling like people behind us were getting annoyed because we were sucking so bad and taking too long. Of course if you're doing really bad you pick your ball up and move on, but still I hated that part of it.
The thing that got me over this hurdle when I was first playing was that everyone else on the course is probably just as bad as you are and if they're better, it's only a couple of strokes. Its something like 1% of golfers can break 100 (legitimately) or something like that. So they'll be just as slow as you are if they are in front of you. If you're keeping up with the group in front of you, that's all you can do.

Never heard of captain's choice, matt.
Depending on how many players you have, it gets more interesting. Basically, if you're playing as a foursome, you split up into two teams of two. Between you and your partner, whoever hits the best ball, you both hit your next shot from there. Everyone hits every shot, you're just picking the best shot to play as your next.

This sounds like a story Velo should be telling.

I had a shitty lunch but some business partners are in town and taking us to dinner tonight. Bern's or Ruth Chris sounds about right to me.

Just noticed some new TLOU DLC on the store. $30 for the Ultimate Head Item Pack. What.. the.. fuck.. Hard to single out Naughty Dog since this sort of stuff is becoming really common, but come one. They should be better than that.

And why is that Rygar Arcade game $8?

Oh I thought you were talking about liqour. Your basically referring to a 2 team 2 man scramble. I had never heard of Captain's choice before, but was about to go buy some! There are a hundred other little golf games you can play, mostly for money.

Lol. Yeah, most people call it Caps choice for some reason. Probably because they are rednecks, but idk, I think its pretty common term now. I play tournaments all the time, it's so fun. 18 4-man teams, all trying to post the best score, while getting super drunk and talking shit all day. With prizes and money involved, of course.

And yeah, tons of ways to bet on golf, tons of little games to play....caps choice is the easiest and most fun IMO.

catching up a bit, we usually count drops depending what's going on.  if there isn't a group behind us on the par 3 we will hit a second ball if the first shot was bad enough, mostly for practice since we aren't pros or playing for money.

I can honestly say i have never had so much fun with a multiplayer shooter than i have had with TLOU.  I love the team work aspect to it that makes it feel a lot better for some one who isn't so great at MP in most games except sports games.  Not to mention the factions bit really adds something to the experience that really keeps you coming back and playing more!  LOVE IT!

after signing up for gamefly because of Thermo, I am getting God of War origins first, was a little weird since it was third on my list, wanted Back to the future first since it is an easy plat, guess I can try and Plat God of War 1, how difficult and time consuming might that be?

As wren mentioned, I have never heard this called anything other than scramble.

You are going to especially hate this. Trophies is the likely answer. It takes minutes to 100% that (assuming it stayed the same as the JPN version). Hardcore hunters will likely buy it for that. No, I wont be in the group. My cheapness is more powerful than my trophy hunting desires.

You have to look at the availability column. Even then, you wont always get your first choice even if it is Available Now depending on what distribution center has it available. You can change your queue setup to hold sending a game X days until a game is available. It likely just slows down getting games.

I hope he told you about the gift card thing.

You still playing Shadow Hearts, or did you put it down for a while?
It's an on-and-off thing. I haven't officially stopped playing it, but I'm occupied with other things. Then again, I'll be busy with ToX2 once I'm done with MGS3, so I guess I will put SH:C down for a little while. I'm definitely going to get back to it, though.

Vag review:

"Greatest game of all time!

2/5"
Hey, I'd give a 3/5 or higher with a glowing review like that! :shame:

Resistance: Burning Skies was delivered today. Maybe if I stay up all night playing that I'll be ready for Ys:MoC when it arrives in a day or two.  :wall:

No idea on the gift card... I got $25 through a rebates site...

Yea both Back to the future and God of war said available now... no biggie, just knew I could get Back to the future done shortly compared to how long it might take with GOW

$30 for the ultimate head sounds like a fucking steal.

The shark move for getting Gamefly is to buy their gift cards. A regular 2 at a time subscription is 22.95 a month. If you go to their website you can get 3 months of 2 at a time for just over $36. Barely over $12 a month. Huge difference and well worth it, IMO.

oh i'm just on free trail to get the $25, I will cancel before the end of the month... i don't have enough time to beat games that I would get in the mail to make the monthly cost worth it.

I know it as scamble as well (or Best Ball). But every tournament I've ever been to calls it Captains Choice. Figured it was kind of a universal terminology. If I call it scramble around here, no one would know what the fuck I was talking about lol.

I found the difference. Apparently it is scramble but with a head douchebag on each team.

Yeah, well nobody pays attn to that head douchebag lol. Teams just converse on what shot to use. I have been paired up with people who were like "professionals" though, and it's fucking annoying. "No guys, this shot, because watch this blade of grass move with the wind....2mph is a huge difference!"

Has anyone else had a moment in the thread today where all the quotes did not have the banners with the person who originally said it across the top?  It has happened twice for me and I am on 10ppp.  I am wondering if we are about to kill this message board software.

It's happened to me before as well, a couple weeks ago.
