So IF I could sell my current PS4 for $350 (which I think is a bit of a stretch, $300-$320 would be more likely) it would cost me $50 out of pocket for the upgrade.  That $50 was going to go towards a 2nd controller, but I guess I can survive with just one for now.
 
Is white PS4 worth $50-$100 out of pocket + legwork?  I'm not so sure...

I guess there's no harm to list for $350 and see if I get any bites locally.  Don't love doing cash transactions like that with strangers though.

I've got myself a pink 3DS XL that I got for $35 from Kmart and I wouldn't pay $5 to trade it for a different color.

I'd say no, it isn't worth it. Gas and the potential of getting a lunatic weigh more heavily for me than getting Destiny/a white PS4. If you're going through with it, go to a police station or a mall.

That made everything too complex. If you factor both those in then I would only be paying like $390 for the Destiny Bundle in the long run, but those are kind of sunk-costs at this point and I should really only consider what would be out of pocket going forward.

Isn't Destiny in the bundle a code rather than being a disc?

Edit: Nope, nevermind. And maybe the white controller has better nubs, too.

I was going to go to lunch with her today but I just got an email that my department is ordering us Cafe Rio so I have to cancel on her. FREE LUNCH!

Her name is Steph if you want to stop calling her FWB if you find that awkward.

 
Watch Tyler sell his PS4 and then the Destiny bundle sells out everywhere and then has to rebuy the black console.

I'd say the upgrade isn't worth it. Spend that money on a PS4 controller.

Well I'm already planning to get the white controller for $55. So basically instead I'd be getting the white console and controller for $50, but I wouldn't be getting a 2nd controller anymore. Plus I'd be doing a lot more legwork.

Also with that $50 I do get to play Destiny at launch, that's something else to consider.  Maybe I'll list it and just see if someone is dumb enough to pay $350 for a used one.

True, and I hope they have that same deal again for people like yourself. I was just using history as a guide with that one since Plus had never been that cheap before (barring some glitches that I am sure someone will pull out of their ass to respond with).

I did not buy all those years at that sale. I had bought a couple cards earlier when I found them at a discount and then waited for the buy a year get 3 month promotions to stack with them.

I just don't see a $20 price ever happening. I would love to be proven wrong. With a 3 month card being around for $18 everywhere, I would be shocked to see them go that low.

I am hoping that the $30 price was not just due to the PS4 launch.

I had 12 years of PS+ from the Target misprint ad. I traded some of them and hooked up some people at cost. I'm only good til Oct. 2016. I'm still hoping the promo comes back, buy a year and get 3 months free for PS+.

isn't xbox live gold the same thing and they do deals on cards, although their best deals are $7 for 3 month cards.

I bought on year for $30 and got the other year for free by selling a vanilla PS4 to pay for my PS4 with battlefield and a year of plus. essentially got a year of plus and Battlefield for free

Yeah, that's true. Hadn't figured in the fact that it's required now.

I just watched the white PS4 unboxing, and I can see why Tyler is thinking about making the leap. I just wish they were available from the get go. But a white controller should be good enough.

 
Tyler, I take back what I said about buffalo sauce, at least on the Buffalo Ranch McChicken. Leaving it on made the sandwich taste freakin' delicious.
