I haven't played that yet. :)

So far of the games I've played this year, these are the ones I've have no complaints about:

  1. Xcom: Enemy Unknown + Within
  2. Marlow Briggs
  3. Shank
  4. They Bleed Pixels
  5. Fieldrunners 2
  6. Prototype
  7. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
  8. Killzone 2 (aside from the glitch I ran into during play that forced me to restart the level--not really a game issue)
  9. Uncharted
  10. OlliOlli
  11. Killzone mercenary
  12. Luftrausers
  13. Rogue Legacy
  14. Resistance: Burning Skies
  15. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
I can't recall if I had any real complaints about Resistance. I don't think I did. If somebody wants to call me out on any of these that's fine, but looking back all these were pretty solid games. So 15 of 42.
I find it hard to believe you had no complaints about Prototype.

Why did this gif stop working as soon as I posted it? Oh well, here's a backup:

BTW it'd be hilarious if they added a "Missed 0 QTEs" trophy to a GoW game down the road. Miss a QTE in a playthrough and you missed the trophy. Hardcore (meaning no save slots) or not would be fine. Hardcore would be even better. It would be the rarest (non-glitch) trophy on PSN.

It's not just this thread.

I was game for making a new thread, then I remember we'd lose the star...
Yeah, I have no desire to make a new thread now unless it affects performance. But yeah I surfed around the main deals thread right after I posted and it's definitely not just this thread having issues.

Gamefly has Thief for 9.99/12.99 for current/next gen if anybody cares. I'm hoping for PS+ myself.

Oh my gosh, you're going to be so annoyed by Thief based on the complaints I've read. I'd just go with Dishonored, which is supposedly a better homage to the original Thief series than this new Thief; I played Dishonored on 360 and loved it, but since I never played the Thief series on PC, I can't attest to how it compares.

I didn't 100% it because there were some quests that were just way more difficult than I wanted to deal with, but IIRC there was a difficulty setting for the game and I could have (but didn't) lower it. It was extremely over-the-top but the gameplay was pretty solid. There were things I could criticize, but I don't recall doing so.

I have Thief 1-3, but haven't played them yet. I know the new Thief has quite a few bugs and just a really bad narrative. It still looks interesting, though.

I also have Dishonored GOTY but haven't gotten to it yet. That also looks fun though I'm sure I'll go for the kill everything route rather than the stealth one. My understanding is that the stealth one just isn't very fun.

Septembers PS+ games are terrible. I am only slightly interested in Velocity 2x, but the rest I have zero interest in.

Actually, no. Thief is the better homage to the original Thief, so much that people find it untenable by today's gaming standards. Dishonored is considered best because of how it includes action in its stealth, while Thief encourages stealth above all else. I'd grab Thief for 12.99... if Amazon had it at that price.

I know that now. But 7th grade me had different tastes.
I forgot you were that much younger than me. I was in college when those movies came out. And I pretty much hated the first and thought the other two were just okay. Give me the old school costumes any day over the CG characters.

IIRC the final boss made me want to rip my hair out.

Really? IIRC, I've seen/read fans of the original Thief games rip the new one apart.

It took me around 5-10 tries IIRC. Eventually I just started keeping away and throwing crap at him, alternating with some hits after his big attacks and such.

Funny thing is that when I finally beat him the clock hit 0 right then. I was so sure when the cinematic started that I had failed again and was pissed until I realized differently.

I've been reading the criticisms. Even ignoring all the problems with the story, characterization, and poor dialogue, the new Thief doesn't have near the same depth for stealth that the original does with regards to sound, shadows, and movement.

Here's a really good analysis IMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-5KrE8mFKY

You guys would have so much more gaming money if you didn't buy lunch at work. Do you all seriously do that every day? I literally buy lunch at work like 5 or 6 times a year. Only if we are going out for some occasion or other. Otherwise I pack leftovers or something smallish and have a big dinner when I get home.

I considered getting this at launch, but reviews scared me away. Since then I have literally not seen anyone say that it was worth playing. Usually at least one or two people will say "Yeah, it's not that bad", but not this one. That alone has kept me uninterested even at this cheap price (not the first time GF had it for that cheap, btw, it will be cheaper next time probably).

Yeah I was 14 when the Episode 1 came out. I like the movies because I was a kid and didn't know any better.

I should get in the habit of packing a lunch, it would be healthier and cheaper. But I also LOVE getting out of the office for a hour everyday, it's well worth the money I drop on lunch.

This reminded me. I thought I liked Niki Minaj's ass, but after seeing her on the VMAs the other night I no longer like it. It looked like she got those illegal injections and someone filled her ass with cement.
That's because they're implants, dogg.

@Gator: I'm a console peasant, no PS4 for me. Velo can see my trophy list. Get on his level, guys.

At least 6 people in this thread make over $100K though so they can afford to eat wherever they want.

yeah so im stuck on final boss of drakengard 3. it has nothing to do with anything else in the game and is just wonky. It's a rhythm game with no visual cues half the time. I am going to have to sync it up with the youtube video if I can even get that to work.

and yeah, haha, i think i changed my vote from under 20,000 to over 100k cuz yolo

I can't wait til November when this huge batch of Day 1 PS4 buyers who also bought a year of PS+ will have their subscription expire.  I'm not a huge fan of this month's selection but whining that indie games and 2D games don't belong on PS+ or even PS4 is just idiotic.  People expecting full $60 games on PS+ for PS4 is even more idiotic.  People are the fucking worst.

And the worst thing of all is that all these whiners are going to re-up anyway because they have to have PS+ to play online anyway.   fuck!

Why would people prefer mediocre games like Thief, Knack, and Killzone over something like Velocity X2 which looks to have tons of potential?  Just because they originally cost more when they came out and were available to buy at stores doesn't meant those "AAA" games are special.  They're not.

"AAA game" is another term that just needs to die.  Nobody even knows what they mean or what they're talking about.

I hate people.

Maybe enough people will drop that Sony will throw up some non-indie PS4 games.

That reminds me that I need to redeem one of the cards I bought last year in the next 30 days.  So looking forward to refreshing all the licenses across 2 handhelds and 3 consoles.

If I had to drive somewhere to get lunch I would probably bring sack lunch more often, but I work downtown so there is all manner of eateries within a block walking distance.
