Let's talk phone service. Should I try switching to Sprint? Their service is dirt cheap and has unlimited LTE data/talk/text. But how is the service? Sucksville? I wish I could try before committing…. If anybody from the Baltimore area knows how their service is (or how it is elsewhere in the world), I'd appreciate the input.
I've had no issues with Sprint, but their bumping up everyone on my family plan to a new, more expensive plan when we upgrade our phones, which is lame.

I think I'm going to go no-contract after my S3 breaks down and I need a new phone.

I thought the scale went from 10/10 Therms (most annoying) up to 10/10 Vigs (most awesome), with a zero in the middle for ultimate meh.
Too confusing for me. I'm keeping the scales separate.

0/10 shouldn't be middle ground. It should be an absolute high or absolute low.

fucking lame. I requested tomorrow off, got a confirmation email and everything that it was all set for 9/11. Today I look at my schedule and it shows me working tomorrow because they put my day off in for next week. And now it's too late to change so I have to work tomorrow. I was supposed to be playing Destiny all day!
That sucks. You can't just call in "sick".

I'm thinking of doing that this afternoon myself.

Yes, I have to wonder if Destiny will end up being Bungie's State of Emergency. It was released by Rockstar after the enormous success of Grand Theft Auto 3, hyped up enormously so that the first shipment sold out like crazy, then reviews and word of mouth began to spread and the sales dried up. A CAG user who owned an independent NYC game store recounted on a CAGcast episode how he couldn't do anything get rid of that second shipment and took a huge loss. Destiny sold $500 million to retailers so if the game doesn't continue to sell like gangbusters to actual customers beyond the first few days/weeks then I would expect a lot of similar one upping of pricing among retailers to try to get rid of their excess stock before sales dry up.

I used to work for sprint

They gave us free phone service

I went out and got an AT&T cell phone and paid for it

That should tell you all you need to know
But used to and right now are different things. This info does him no good unless you used to work for them a month ago.

When was this, though? The price is awful tempting and I guess I'd only be stuck for a couple years if it's crappy. I don't know. I just don't f'ing know!

Changed my gmail password earlier today just in case. Destiny already made $500 million so I doubt they are worried about it being State Of Emergency. Activision love em or hate em they sure know how to make the monies.

If you are thinking about going with Sprint you might as well look at all those bargain carriers.  I think they all use Sprint's network.  If you are going for saving cash and willing to go with a possibly interior carrier, might as well at least pay as little as possible and go all in.

Actually you are right, I know Cricket uses Sprints networks... and it is super cheap!

Virgin mobile, boost, cricket use sprint

I think metro pcs partly uses sprint too

If you're okay with the Sprint network, don't use a lot of data, and want the best price, check out Ting. Ting has fantastic prices. It's $40-50 a month for my wife and I together. You get billed for your actual usage in minutes, data, and text categories, and each are counted seperately so if you never text then you're simply not charged for texting. We don't use a lot of data or minutes, but both have wifi at work and use our phones on that all day.

They'll reimburse you with 25% of your ETF if you switch to them (up to $75), give you $50 credit for your first referral and $25 for each subsequent one, and they don't have a call routing machine. If you call them somebody just picks up. I've never had to be transferred on the few occasions I called them, either. It's pretty cool.

Check it out. If you decide to switch to them let me know and I'll give you a referral (which gives us each $25 in credit..depending on usage that can literally be a month or more's bill.)

Straight Talk has Verizon's network available as well as Sprint. I'm seriously considering going back to them at some point.

You could get Explorer easily enough with a guide.
Yeah, I've been eyeing that one. I'm still thinking about it. I've just been playing VU at work every day for a week and am kind of tired of it. I'll have to make up my mind when lunch rolls around tomorrow. Or I might just come back to it on my fat Vita (which has a grip) and see if it feels better enough to justify hitting some of the other remaining trophies.

It's not confusing at all.

Here this may help more:

Bottem of scale:
-10 = 10/10 Therms or most annoying

Middle of scale:
0 = meh. Whatever. Could go either way.

Top of scale:
+10 = 10/10 Vigs or most excellent

I hadn't considered those other carriers. However I use a fairly significant amount of data as I play streaming music all the time in my car. Cricket doesn't look like it offers unlimited data at all (well, yes, but super slow after a limit is used up). Sprint is offering an unlimited LTE data+voice+text plan for $50 if you get an iPhone 6. That's pretty competitive with at least Cricket, especially since Cricket doesn't offer unlimited data. Also Sprint seems to give me the option of a contract, which in this case is probably preferable since it lowers the cost of the phone a lot. Or you can pay for the phone over 2 years. It's not clear to me if Cricket offers that kind of plan. I will check out others, though.

Did everybody change their gmail password(s)? If not, probably you should. Big leak of gmail accounts/passwords.
Ugh I get so sick of this shit. I only have about 3 or 4 passwords (I'm seriously expected to remember a separate one for each site? Get real!) so when one gets compromised it means I have to re-do several.

Why are you asking as what to play when you have the biggest game of the year arriving at your doorstep any minute? Regardless of whether you fall in love with it like some of us have, if you're going to play it eventually anyway it's always more fun to do it when everyone else is playing it too.
I have zero hype for the game and know little to nothing about it. In fact, some of these comments are making me consider selling it and skipping it entirely.

Actually if you do the research, Sprint will throttle you as well... any company that does unlimited will throttle you at some point. so I wouldn't use that in the decision process. Circket has Unlimited up to 2.5 GB then it's throttled at $50.

I have ATT unlimited and I get throttled around 3gb

I highly recommend investing in 1Password for you computer and your phone. It is well worh the money. Just suck in your gut and pay the asking price. It is well worth the money. Sometimes it goes on sale, though, so you could wait for that.

Nope. Using separate scales. Combining scales is stupid.

What do I do when 1Password gets compromised?

And does the browser fill-in thing work well? I'm not logging into a database to see my password so I can log in to something else.

You need a good password for 1Password, of course. But at least you only have to remember one. The browser fill-in works great at least on Mac. I've used it with Safari, Chrome and Firefox. I can't vouch for Windows.

$50!??!?!? I'd rather someone just steal my account and spent my life savings!!!

I'm not spending $50 on computer software!

Use LastPass, better and free for browser. App for iOS/Android is like $4.99 and has extra features. I use the browser one and it's excellent.
