I have never gone to the doctor without a real reason in 18 years. why the fuck would you go to a doctor if you're not sick? besides, when I did go to doctors regularly it's not like a single one of em picked up that I had chron's disease before it hit me like a ton of fucking bricks.

Somehow I think if snakeybro posted 500 times a day he wouldnt be "killing it". Small children maybe...
I have no idea how many times a day he posts, I dont count the white bars. But out of 500 things, surely he would have to say one thing to make you laugh or give him a like.

Edit: OK, probably not. Good example.

I'm with pharm, I'm not even sure what decade I went to the dentist last. I take decent care of my teeth and if you think that deep cleaning or whatever fixes bad breath for more than a couple days for anyone that has poor dental habits you're nuts. who has time to go to the dentist? I have enough trouble getting off work for something I want to do!

I bet you guys go to the doctor for regular checkups too.
I actually enjoy going to the dentist. I go at least twice a year to get my teeth cleaned and love the feeling of a fresh mouth. I just hate getting the bills.

fuck dude. That's one that my doc is concerned about for me

So I've always been told that I'm supposed to go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning. As someone who brushes the regular amount of twice a day and flosses when I remember, I'm thinking about bumping that to once a year. I also recently found out that I'm not required to go to the doctor every year for a physical, and that until I'm older or at risk for health issues I can do it every 2-3 years.

I went to the dr this year for a physical since we got new insurance. I expected blood work since I was a new patient and a urine sample and they did none of that. She literally just looked in my ears, mouth, and checked my heartbeat and that was it. I asked her for an allergy test because I wanted to see if I really am allergic to shellfish or not and she told me just to eat it and if bad reaction go to the hospital. Like wtf?!

Aren't you overweight? I mean, if you haven't fixed that, you should check yourself. Just saying.

My girlfriends little sister is super into horror games like, Outlast and Daylight and some other shit like that....Does anyone have experience with Slender: The Arrival? Is it a good horror game? I don't care about the 10 bucks if the game is decent enough. Daylight and Outlast both had some pretty decent scares, so if it as at least as good as Daylight (which people hated for some reason) I'd like to know.
I haven't played either of those yet, but Slender is alright. It's repetitive and loses its effect after awhile, but it got a few good screams out of me (as people who watched me stream it can attest) and is probably at least as god as Daylight considering I've heard that's pretty mediocre.

Might try streaming it again in the future if I can get over being a complete wimp.

Na. I just feel sorry for you guys. I like pain meds but not if I take them from someone who really needs them. I am an asshole, but not that mean.
Yeah it's been a shitty two years for us. Back problems, gall bladder, and now this stomach thing for me. She went through a ton of crazy doc visits before finding out she has complex regional pain syndrome in her ankle.

She now has a stimulator implant in her spine that blocks some of the pain, but in the end she will feel constant pain in her ankle forever

Sorry to hear that.

What is this ankle issue? Is her ankle constantly swollen? My right ankle has been swollen for two months now.

That's pretty much how it started. If it's been two months i would consider seeing a pain specialist. She had doctors tell her it was probably just sprained for about 3 months until one suggested a pain clinic. They worked trying various things before the implant which is the most extreme course of action. Overall it took 15 months from her missing a step to getting the implant

Are these pain clinics code word for pill mills?

EDIT: Dammit, I missed my chance to get in on this action. I didnt read the article, but the headline says it all.

Yeah I usually have to request blood work.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the US is healthy, but almost all of us think we are sick and dying from one thing or another. Doctors are the only ones who realize that almost everyone is healthy. If you are young, as long as you look relatively healthy and not morbidly obese and don't have a specific identifiable symptom that youre suffering, then doctors aren't going to bother with you. Even if you are in that rare 1% and are sick, more than likely a doctor isn't going to catch it anyway unless you have those identifiable symptoms to share with them.

A doctor can't just listen to your heart, check your ears, take your blood pressure, and then diagnose you with Crohn's disease.

true, although the seven different doctors I went to when I had very identifiable symptoms should have at least been able to make some headway in less than 4 months. I imagine you could have diagnosed me faster.

Lol. I'm not sure how common they are actually, but we lucked out and had one within 30 miles. They specialize in treatment for chronic pain disorders. Much easier to deal with because lots of doctors are skeptical of "invisible diseases" like pain disorders

Edit: jeez that article is crazy. All of my fiance's prescriptions are actually through her regular doctor. The pain clinic she went to wouldn't prescribe anything. Probably for that very reason

What pissed me off is since I was little I have a kidney thing that no one has been able to figure out what it is and so when I go to the dr. They always do certain tests to see if it went away or what not (I always inform them of it if it's a new dr) and this one just didn't do shit, she acted like she could care less. But she gave my husband a blood test and urine test :/

Try to keep positive cause I've been through a shit ton of medical issues and that seems to help me out. The doctors noticed it and told me it'd help during the recovery process.

All I can say is if you have good health don't take it for granted cause it can be gone tomorrow.

Yeah I was just having a convo about this the other day. Mormon's seriously distinguish between hot caffeine and cold caffeine. I've heard that hot caffeine is allowed now but cold caffeine still isn't. What the fuck???
What if you have a hot cup of coffee that gets cold and then you drink it? Exile?

Yeah, I'm trying to think as positively as i can about it. Luckily my stuff has been pretty mild compared to hers. She had to see a therapist for a while to cope with accepting chronic pain. I certainly don't blame her.

For me it's mostly this grey area where they don't have any answers for me that I get stressed about

Boy, a lot of you sure are fixated on homosexuality....
you know how this ends, right? everybody continues to make these 'tyler loves dick' jabs at you until you get so fed up that you set up your own cam show which will consist of 3 hours of you trying convince your fwb to 'make out just a little for the guys'.
