PSN Off-Topic - Happy Thanksgiving Chumps and Chumpettes!

LOL D&D was just on sale.
I bought AA for $4.20 not that long ago too. I wanted all 3 on the PS3 even though I had finished it already, apparently that was a dumb ass move. Lol. I own Spelunky too but I got a good amount of enjoyment out of it so I'm ok with that. Lineup is pretty strange overall but I'm happy with Dust and I'll probably give Drive Club a try. Graphics look pretty sick.

RM is a pretty fun sRPG, btw. Very minimal story and it is entirely focused on gameplay, which is great. The only complaint I have is that when a new party member joins, collecting Rainbow Coins for that member in order to level up all their attributes is a huge pain in the ass. Until you do that, though, they're completely worthless. The game really should have handled that differently. Oh, and switching characters is clunky on Vita; on PS3 I believe it's L2/R2, but on Vita it's pyramid+L1/R1. Since both pyramid and L1/R1 have their own functions, having a combo that requires hitting both is a bit awkward.

Decent month, I already have AA and spelunky on vita/ps3 but none of the others. Funny seeing people complain in the blog comments.

Hmm....another fairly shitty month for me.  Own everything that's not brand new.

Arkham Asylum is definitely old.  Never though we'd get that at this point.  The retail games are starting to be lacking a bit on PS3/Vita.

Our PS+ list was the exact same as EU's last month Therm.  I lost the quote on this though.  And the month before I think the only difference was Lego Harry Potter.

Really? I had no issue with the camera last night. I'll play again later today and see why I didn't notice it then. My bad.
It's possible they also shoved camera controls under the "Invert Aim" setting, but I'm pretty sure I tested it just in case and found that not to be the case. I'll also double-check that after work, though. Granted I am playing on PC, but with a multi-plat release I don't expect the settings to work differently for something like this.

Only Therm had a real issue with the camera because he sucks without an inverted camera. But he is right that there is no invert camera option. Only the aim for the bow.

EDIT: I think

PS3 free games are a bit lackluster this month.  Surely there's something a bit more current to give us for free? Maybe something that at least came out in 2013?

I imagine Spelunky looks super tiny on a big screen TV. The game is handheld size, why would you want to play it on a PS4?

I'll hold out hope for some decent sales.

...and yet another person said he won't play without inverted. Is this a reference to the royal Therm? :whistle2:k

I was going to get SoM but heard it doesn't have an inverted camera. So fuck that.

Also, this pretty much solidifies that I won't be buying Arkham Knight at launch. I'll just wait until it's free.

I'm curious how the Rainbow Moon cross-buy will work. It's never been cross-buy normally before. There's been a special offer where you pay less for both versions than you would buying them both individually, but never true cross-buy. With that in mind, I have the Vita version. I wonder if I'll somehow get a PS+ version only of the PS3 game, if my Vita version will automatically give me the full PS3 version without the PS+ limitation, or if the store will just not let me buy the "free" cross-buy bundle since I already own part of it.
In the past for games that are not normally crossbuy (like Dragon's Crown) it just means they mark down both iterations to "free" and you have to check out both of them. That is probably what they will do for Rainbow Moon.

I have Batmang on 360 but haven't played it. I guess I'll play on PS3 now. Dust is cool. D&D is cool. Spelunky PS4 is great news.

Might as well start downloading the free DLC stuff now while people are thinking of it.

Batman: AA - Insane Night Challenge Map Pack, Prey in the Darkness challenge Map pack, and Play as the Joker challenge pack.

Thanks for the heads up. Grabbed them.

SoM has inverted controls. I inverted the aim in the options and can control the camera inverted anytime as well as the aim. Pretty easy to find the option to change controls.

So you're saying inverting the aim inverts the camera as well? Kind of odd to do it that way, but at least the option is available.

I think Sony is trolling the shit out of the people who would cry month in and month out about Europe getting better games.  Now you both get the same games so you can cry some more!

Anyway, I'm fine with Dust, Batman, Spelunky, and Rainbow Moon.  Not sure about Pix or Dungeons & Dragons.

You guys can be such babies. I never played Dust on 360, so I'm definitely picking that up. I'll download Pix the Cat and Chronicles of Mystara, too. I already own AA and have no interest in Spelunky or Rainbow Moon, so I'm passing on those.

So, Tyler...what should be the PSNOT trophy tournament game for October?

I can't remember which is which now, but I know when I push the right stick in a direction, that's the direction I want it the camera to pan. Up to look up, right to look right, etc. I can't understand for the life of me why it should work any different.

Yes. Because I was playing last night with no issues. And I can't play games that don't have the inverted option.
I'll take another look, then. I thought I tried it but there's always confusion when switching from or to inverted at first for me. It may be that because I didn't try the aim setting right away that I was starting to get used to regular and then inverting it just made everything feel wrong again. :wall:

So, that's 3 people who only play inverted. Just saying. :whistle2:

I really hope they patch the description. "Invert Aim" isn't the slightest bit clear that it also inverts the camera in general.

Maybe Dust since everyone will have a fresh start?

They said that textures had to be compressed on PS3 and will not need to be on PS4. Or something like that. I'm forgetting exactly now. Anyway, anybody saying it doesn't look good on PS3 needs their eyes checked.

It is mainly due to people that got used to flight simulator type of controls where down on the stick means up and vice versa. I do not think I have ever changed the controls. I tend to play whatever the game is setup for by default. There have only been a few times I remember having to turn off inverted when it was the default because it just did not work in that particular game.

Airplane controls. You pull back to go up. You're tipping the plane back. That's where inverted comes from.

I usually just go with what I'm given too. Though I had to switch on the original Ratchet & Clank HD release cause that shit wasn't working.

You're never going to find a game that works for everyone, but it seemed like a good pick. I think myself, Velo, and rpg are the only ones left without a PS4 right?
Yeah, I think you're right. I was mainly considering how September's Velocity 2X was at least on two platforms (PS4/Vita) and therefore a bit fairer in terms of who could participate.
