Kingdom Hearts guys:

Kinda spoiler for Chain of Memories:
Do you miss much in Chain of Memories if you don't do the Riku playthrough?
I haven't read much about it as to avoid spoilers, but it looks like you'd have to completely replay the game.

 
Hah, Vib Ribbon. Quite the obscure title. One less reason to pull out the old Japanese PS1.

Unless the emulation blows up the timing like with Um Jammer Lammy.

Not cool since those are the 2 I have left to play. I find myself wishing it was Sly and just Sly the majority of the time. Hacking shooting minigames or something is fine but when you get to play as Sly and then have to Bently afterwards it's highly annoying.

I don't get all the Bentley and Murray hate. Their parts weren't my favorites, but I don't think it's near as bad as you guys make it out to be. I actually enjoyed most of it quite a bit.

In the original GBA game, you couldn't even do that playthrough until you beat the game first, so you're technically playing the game "correctly".

No, I had not seen that. I am glad they are out in front of it though. If he is innocent (and who knows if he is), I would like to say he should have never put himself in a situation where he could be accused of this after recent incidents, but that is just crazy. You know college kids are going to be trying to get laid.

There is another freshman QB who was actually much higher rated than Harris. They were planning to red shirt him. Who knows what will happen with that now though since hopefully Muschamp finally sees Driskel just isn't good enough.

That's how I feel. I have to force myself through the others (especially Bentley) so I can play Sly again

 
Werthers are pretty tasty. Tastykake Butterscotch Crimpets are tasty too. If you don't have Tastykake, I cry for you.

I liked Murray's gameplay noticeably more than Bentley's, but it's not Bentley's parts specifically I hate--it's how much in love the developers appear to be with his parts that we get so many of them jammed down our throats.

Thieves in Time took this farther than I liked with all of the hacking minigames that, if done separately, wouldn't have been so bad, but when you have to do 3-4 of them in a single Bentley mission... :headache:

Just wondering if I'd miss much story-wise. If the howlongtobeat.com time of 24 hours is just for the first playthrough, I might not bother.

I'll agree the parts with 3-4 of the hacking minigames were a bit grating. One or maybe two were okay, though.

Yeah, Ubisoft really drops the ball most of the time optimizing their PC ports. Stuff like Rayman and Child of Light are fine, but any of their open world games are almost certain to run like crap for most people (at least pre-several dozen patches).

I'd hardly equate huge mechanical differences to graphical resolutions. Ultimately the majority of people aren't going to notice a difference dropping it to 900p, and Ubisoft is likely just trying to avoid the idiotic faboying that could potentially cause them to lose sales for the X1 version because people are running around the internet saying the other version is better. It's dumb, but I'm not entirely surprised, and from what I heard AC4 had a ton of slowdown on PS4 in areas so maybe scaling the resolution down will help alleviate that somewhat.

I got 3 more trophies in SoM during lunch today, so just a few more to go.

If the trailers are any indication, Pharm might be right at home with its drug-high aesthetic despite claiming he'll quit within a couple of days.

Sure, Ish would be fun to explore his story.

But also, there is 20 years of Joel's life after the opening sequence to explore. There is a lot of meat there, more than what DLC could do justice to.

Maybe they will incorporate it into the next game.

Munky, I found an easy way to get the flaming berserker trophy... I got the upgrade that gives you unlimited executions, then i went to a camp with a fire pit and Uruks around it, made sure a berserker was there (the bigger dual weilding Uruks)... jumped down, activiated the unlimited executions, grabbed him threw him through the fire, then ran up and executed... took 30 seconds for the trophy to pop though.

Ubisoft is intentionally holding the PS4 version of AC Unity back so that both consoles can have "graphical parity" at 900p/30fps.

Black Flag was 1080p on PS4, so clearly they have no problem actually hitting 1080 on PS4 if they wanted to.

Man that's bullshit. I'm not a graphics whore or anything, but this is basically retarding the growth and development of this generation of consoles. I'm not generally a fan of impeding the development and evolution of anything that has positive influences on the world. Like technology. What else are Ubisoft going to hold back from other PS4 games because they can't make it work on the X1? Why should Sony be punished for putting out a superior console?

I haven't heard that, but haven't played the game either so I don't really know.

And Ubisoft has pissed off PS4 fans now anyway, so this was a dumb idea no matter what.

Ha, I just read about that method today, too. Of course the mega-sword (i.e., unlimited executions) upgrade is the last of the three for me to unlock. :wall:

 
Tyler, I'm going to copy your Ubi rant to the X1 thread and see if I can get any death threats.

And then I'm going to Walmart. And I took some hydrocodone for my pain so that will be fun. I'm not driving.

Cool, I'll try that this evening. I have the upgrade that gives you 2 executions/fire arrows/whatever else for every 5x on the combo, so I found a berserker, hit him 5 times then shot him with a fire arrow and executed him, but the trophy didn't pop. I don't know why that wouldn't work. But I'll look around for one near a fire pit this time, thanks. I also happened to see a mission to avenge your death today heh.

I don't think this is much of a spoiler, but just in case...

Agreed, I wouldn't mind if the second game kinda went back and focused on Joel and Tess and kinda their journey and goings on leading up to the beginning of the first game. But I don't think they could really get away with just leaving Ellie's story where it ended.

That's fine, as long as you take my name off of it haha.

I know that thread has some real special people in it, but I would hope most reasonable Xbox One fans would also understand that this is a bad thing. Because it is a bad thing. What reasonable person wouldn't want a company to make the best possible product?

 
Definitely a dick move by Ubi on that one.  In the end, the difference won't be that noticeable, but it doesn't really make sense to piss off the larger user base for the new consoles, just to appease those who chose poorly.  They just better not fuck up Far Cry 4, and hopefully leave stupid co-op missions out.

Mega sword is so good though. I have a rune that makes it last 10 seconds longer too. See, this is why you need the fun police ordering you around. Mega bow is good because of all the fire arrows, but I don't think I've even used the mega dagger ability at all.

 
AC2 has more side stuff to do, but the core combat issues from AC1 are still present in 2.The main character from 2 also isn't very interesting.

Yeah Vig, why you wouldn't buy Mega-sword first is beyond me.  Just reading the descriptions, Mega-sword is clearly the best by a mile!

Listen to the fun police more often.
