GOG Deals Thread

Terraria is on sale at 75% til Monday and I think it is a new release for GoG!

Maybe I missed someone post this but its the magic % and I believe the first DRM free release.  I'm all over it at least, been waiting a long time and glad I held out (yes I know Steam has had it cheaper/Humble trades).  Can't wait for Galaxy :)

Thanks for the head's up.

I'm strongly considering biting on this. It's possible that it might hit 80% off at some point, but that extra 50 cents wont keep me up at night.

GOG will be doing some sort of special sale starting on Monday. That's all I can really say, but I'm sure you'll see more on that on Monday morning.

Just out of sheer curiosity, from where did you hear this information?

Considering it's not yet autumn, I'm hoping to the gods above that it will *not* be an Insomnia Sale. My having consistent Net access only every three days or so here in Cambodia means that I would more than likely than not miss out on near everything off my wishlist that I've been wanting. Which, to be quite honest—knowing how much spite and Murphy's legal system loathe me—I wouldn't be the least surprised if fate punishes little ole' me by conjuring up an Insomnia Sale for the upcoming week.

HYPERBOLE ALERT!!!

Well if you give us a copy of your wishlist and a picture of your daughter (to motivate Idiotekque), I'm sure we'll be able to help you out.

Some polish guy caressed my cheek and whispered in my ear that GOG is having some sort of sale on Monday.  He then gently placed a polish sausage in my mouth and then I ran .... to get some mustard because I never eat sausage without a good mustard.

Here's hoping for an amazing 60% off, one game at time, limited to 98764 copies that must sell out before moving on to the next deal kinda sale.

When you came back you noticed his pants unzipped and realized you made a huge mistake.

Reading the GOG forum, it seems a lot of people are getting a mix including Sword of the Samurai, Fist puncher, Influx and/or Rex Nebular. So, I won't be gambling.

The gift that keeps on giving...

I wish I could get the prices without buying 3 games. Also I hate mystery games, since it's a good chance it will be something I don't want. I want Total Overdose from this sale...but need 2 other games....PASS!!

Peeked at my mystery games before checking out (view page source, look at percent discounted and release date for each item in line 365).

Hotline Miami, Trine, Fist Puncher.

fuck.

edit - use this thread for reference to decipher your mutators.

This promo is kind of silly because you can only get three games - you can't buy more than three. I'm interested in four myself and I'll have to decide which game I don't want. The press release clearly mentions buying "at least" three - seems like a big oversight on their part.

How do you figure out the games? I know the release date and the discount...
67%, 12/25/91
87%, 4/11/2012
67% 2/7/2013

??
Each game is $2 after discount, so the 67% off ones are $5.99 games and the 87% off game is a $14.99 game.

Then you can either use this release history spreadsheet or this usermade search engine to find games with the corresponding GOG release dates.

67%, 12/25/91 --> not sure about this one - it should be a GOG release date, but I can't find a matching original release date either.
87%, 4/11/2012 --> Legend of Grimrock
67% 2/7/2013 --> Cannon Fodder 2

Dammit, the mutators change. I checked three times earlier today, and I had Eador: Genesis, Capitalism 2, and Sword of the Samurai, in that order. I just made a purchase now that I'm home, cause I wanted Eador: Genesis and Capitalism 2. I ended up with fucking Influx and Sword of the Samurai. Two games I wouldn't pay $0.01 for.

What a weird sale. Because I only have about six things on my GOG wishlist, it's not particularly tempting, but at least they're still being creative.

so much games, so few gog

This is why I rarely buy anything on there anymore, all the sales are this new crap that can be had cheaper elsewhere (and on steam).  Need to bring back deals on their namesake

Agreed the less and less GOG that come to GOG means I'll buy less and less there. I just don't prefer newer games on GOG unless they're riddled with too much DRM otherwise.

I think it's a combination of all clients (Steam, Origin and Uplay) starting to support older titles along with the good old games slowly becoming just plain old games. Nostalgia will only carry a business so far. The various titles that we all held so dear are starting more and more to show their age and as generations advance the ties to those old games start to die.

My mutator game was Capitalism 2 - wtf. If GOG wanted me to use the mutator more than once, they should have given me something off my wishlist.
