It probably doesn't help that I just bought South Park for around the same price and it's sort of similar in a non Halloween but probably maybe sort of in an RPG-ish way. RPG RPG RPG.

I wonder how the stats on something like this work - if it sells a lot on another platform, we'll work on bringing it to a platform with a considerably smaller userbase? why? I wonder if sony has some info that says 'if an indie game sells to 15% of ps3 owners and 20% of ps4 owners that same game tends to sell to 60% of vita owners'.
 
I was a bit bored and with the lack of action in the thread to read I decided to check out the True Trophies feed.  The Evil Within has a crazy high score right now.  The plat and Akumu trophies alone are worth over 4200 points.

I tried to see if the 7300 or so possible points that Vig still has from the game would shoot him above Tyler, but then I realized Tyler  has not returned to the leader board yet.  WTF?

Tyler isn't one of your friends on TT? As of this post, he's only 2000 points above me, so I'll definitely shoot past him by platting The Evil Within.

Hey, did you ever notice how the 3rd entry in a modern video game series is always the worst rated by critics? There really is a bias there. But only for modern games, which by definition had to be made in the last 4 years ya know. I wonder why no one has noticed this before me?

Yeah, I could see both of you in the friend's feed. It was more a post related to him still not being back on the thread leaderboard. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah, depending on how quick he finishes The Evil Within, he may leapfrog you both. You 2 need to be rooting for Velo to get the plat to help bring those points down to help you out :)

Oh, it's no problem--I don't have the thread leaderboard on my profile page, so that's not the one I usually glance at when I visit TT.

judging by velo's feedback, I don't think I'm a bad enough dude to plat that game. I'm surprised (although I shouldn't be) that akumu is one hit kill _and_ a harder difficulty than standard. mikami really went nutso.

The new features in the PS4 version of Spelunky are coming to both Vita and PS3 (replays, for example) and the replay feature is being improved to add a fast forward (yeah)! Those were revealed on their extra life stream with Derek Yu. I wonder if the new version will fix the PS4+Vita out of sync problem. I hope so.

Now that I have been schooled on the PS3 versus PS4 version issues on TT, it is crazy how many more people tracked on that site are playing that game on PS4 instead of PS3.  I know people on that site might not really represent the overall gaming population, but there is more than 12x the number of players on PS4 than on PS3.

If those numbers are even remotely close to the overall gaming population, the last generation will likely be going away quicker than I anticipated.

Actually, I don't remember if I still have the headset from the new PS4 I bought--I only remember trading in the one with the AWD PS4 I traded in. Did I ever tell you guys how I got a brand-new PS4 for ~$275...?

Yea surprisingly it works really well. I've been waiting for them to release a small Bluetooth one that goes over one ear only since that's what my gf wants but there is only one out at the moment and it has mixed reviews. She uses the mic that comes with the ps4. It sounds clear.
 
Also you can use a USB mic if you happen to have one of those. We did that when we played Spelunky coop. It seemed to work really well. It does pick up everybody, though, so be aware of that.

Doing it legit means no cheesing the confluxes, oracles, and Templar too. And I the Atheon cheese twice, I'm glad that's enough to get me to pro level. Woot!

Not cheesing confluxes means no hiding.
Not cheesing oracles means no running to the spawn point.
Not cheesing Templar means no pushing him off.

You'll need at least two 30's on your team, because you need some people who don't have damage penalties during the gatekeeper/two relic sections.

I legitimately mean it when I say good luck. Everything up to the gatekeeper isn't hard. At that point it turns into a whole different animal.
 
But I can understand not wanting to stream. I thought I wanted to stream Spelunky, but then when it comes time to play I find that I get all shy like. Streaming with my kids playing Spelunky was a lot of fun, though, and I think it's probably a lot more entertaining to listen to a group of people than just one. We will do that again.

 
We don't cheese anything. That was only with shadow. I guess people thought it was hard at that time. Everytime after that I've been with cro and we run through everything legit. Raid on normal is easy. We've done it in 1 hr with everything done on first try. All the deaths that run were from people falling on the jump section.

Vig, you have thousands in credit at various retail establishments and you rent games for free from GS a lot based on what you post.  So if you wanted one you could have a headset.  Just say you dont want to stream or talk when you do stream if thats the issue.   Its okay.  But it isnt okay to keep talking about not having a headset when you can get anything you want.  Its annoying to be honest.

Now, does anyone want to hear about divorce?  Na, didnt think so, thats annoying too!

 
I didn't even know you could cheese oracles. What's the point in that? And confluxes? Holy shit Bungie needs to patch a ton of stuff.

Oh and I don't know if you've done the hard raid yet, but there are a couple things that are different about it. I'm not sure if you want them spoiled or want to go in fresh so I won't say anything unless you want to know.
