Whether you misrepresented my post in the other thread through poor reading comprehension or malice, your post here was absolutely intended to make fun of that misrepresentation of what I said. There is no other possible interpretation of your post. You were being an asshole. It absolutely doesn't make sense to think Best Buy (or any business) would give $66 for a game that they sell for $60 new and even less used. Come on man.
Other than maybe Halo I can't think of a single attractive exclusive the XB1 has. Granted I don't follow the system much, but still, a quick look at their exclusives didn't help.Microsoft is getting desperate! $50 price cut on all holiday bundles! $350 starting Nov 2nd through January 2nd... Wow!
Sunset Overdrive doesn't look at least partially interesting to you?Other than maybe Halo I can't think of a single attractive exclusive the XB1 has. Granted I don't follow the system much, but still, a quick look at their exclusives didn't help.
Not really. Granted I've not looked at it beyond the promo stuff they showed at E3 this year. Maybe they just presented it horribly but the tone of the game and the complete lack of a plot really turned me off to it. The gameplay didn't appear to have anything Infamous doesn't (from what I recall,) either.Sunset Overdrive doesn't look at least partially interesting to you?
Yeah, unlike Tyler, I value the plot in most of the games I play, so I feel the same way. Infamous is just better in general anyway, but one could argue that you can't grind on pretty much anything like you can in SSO. I do appreciate the vivid color palate, though. Not really. I think it definitely would've sold better on PS4. Seems like a better fit demographically. It pains me to think that a game like Sunset Overdrive will only get experienced by the small, tiny, miniscule Xbone crowd, but dems da ropes.
Looks really good and I like the bright color scheme... a big contrast to the dark and dreary environments that are flooding the market right now. All the brightness and goo splashing around remind me of Mario Sunshine.
*sigh*Just watched some gameplay footage. Granted it's PewDiePie narrating, but the gameplay...eh. Game is admittedly gorgeoous, but it just looks way way way too busy. The arrows everywhere, the monsters everywhere, the tone, and the feeling of being a comedic Infamous ripoff just don't appeal at all. Even the opening is terrible; a flashback five minutes in to explain what's going on? Why not just start with everybody turning into monsters?

Really pretty game, though.
PewDiePie is pretty easy to tune out and his video is by far the best of the few I looked through, graphics-wise.*sigh*
Unless I'm mistaken, BioWare is the only company to have incorporated a character creation system and given him/her a story of his/her own in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.Oh and I do want to point out one thing; SO lets you create your own character. While this isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially with as amazing as the character designer seems to be, what it does imply is that the main character doesn't have a story of their own. There's the janitor background, but that's probably it; you're just running around in an open world with no real identity of your own. In comparison, Infamous has Cole gets pulled into all kinds of shit but has friends, an ex-lover, plans to marry, and the entire story completely revolves around Cole himself.
Different people enjoy different setups, but I'm not a huge fan of sandboxes, let alone one where the character has no identity.
Backlog might have been sighing that we're missing out on SSO, not necessarily that he wasn't a fan of the video.PewDiePie is pretty easy to tune out and his video is by far the best of the few I looked through, graphics-wise.
I'm not sure I'd consider what Bioware did to be a character creation system. Character skinning, perhaps. What your character looks like doesn't really mean anything and the background choices you get only change the dialogue minimally. Admittedly I'm not sure how much difference character gender makes aside from the relationship choices. I haven't played through the ME games yet, but I was under the impression that the romance element is pretty small. Maybe there's a bigger impact in DA.Unless I'm mistaken, BioWare is the only company to have incorporated a character creation system and given him/her a story of his/her own in the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series.
Hard to tell.Backlog might have been sighing that we're missing out on SSO, not necessarily that he wasn't a fan of the video.![]()
That, and that Therm is difficult to please (as usual).Backlog might have been sighing that we're missing out on SSO, not necessarily that he wasn't a fan of the video.![]()
Keep in mind the context, which was discussion of spending $350 to be able to play Halo and SO. I'm not saying I wouldn't give SO a try for $5, but spending $400 for it? No way. That, and that Therm is difficult to please (as usual).
Hmm. I donated, but when I go to the rafflecopter link I don't see anything in the Enter to Win section. It says "Loading…" for a second, and then it's just blank. This was in Safari. Then I tried in Firefox and it says "This contest is no longer accepting entries". Not a big deal, but figured I'd let you know. Thanks! We're doing a second chance giveaway for prizes for anyone who donates at least $1 then uses the Rafflecopter link bit.ly/TeamDJK-EL
It's mainly 360/PC stuff but there are 2 PSN items too.
I just woke up after posting earlier. I'm starting to feel a lot better and am going to eat now that my stomach isn't upset. I'm about to donate![]()
Oh I agree, but that wasn't very clear that you were taking that into context. I'm not buying an XB1 for one game or even 5 that I'd like to play, but it's still unfortunate that I'll have to miss this one. It doesn't seem like it's the greatest game ever or anything though, so I'm not that upset about it.Keep in mind the context, which was discussion of spending $350 to be able to play Halo and SO. Yeah--recall the line of conversation started with me saying the only XB1 exclusive I was particularly interested in was Halo, then Vigilante asked what I thought about SO.Oh I agree, but that wasn't very clear that you were taking that into context. Ah, yes--I forgot about that completely abandoned series. And KOTOR
I've always wished for an HD Collection for those two games since I never got a chance to play them.Ah, yes--I forgot about that completely abandoned series.![]()
Surprisingly they've never gotten much attention for HD retextures on PC. I believe a couple of projects started but never got finished. With the recent HD re-releases of Baldur's Gate I suppose KOTOR getting the same treatment isn't impossible. Disney owning all that stuff now brings in an extra element of legality, though, and there's no telling whether they'd want to proceed with that or not. It'd certainly be a fantastic move on their part and would be a great way to start off their handling of the product.I've always wished for an HD Collection for those two games since I never got a chance to play them.

I don't really understand how you reach that conclusion with the game not even being released yet. Other than both being open world I don't know why the two games would ever be compared in the first place. I'm excited to give Sunset a spin after reading some reviews. I haven't heard a lot of details about the plot, but I have heard it is well written and genuinely funny. That sounds good to me. Did we not all agree that Second Son's story was quite lame?Yeah, unlike Tyler, I value the plot in most of the games I play, so I feel the same way. Mario Sunshine is my favorite Mario game (second goes to the Mario Worlds) and I usually get a lot of crap about it. I got every secret and star in every Mario game through Sunshine but I've never played Galaxy or the entries after it.I loved Mario Sunshine. I played the heck out of that game before I really considered gaming to be a hobby.
I didn't even realize there was a iPad release. I looked into it, though, and aside from touch-controls it seems to be the same as the original. Was the ipad release of KOTOR an upgrade?
KOTOR was the reason i got an original Xbox...
Yep, I have a soft spot for the Gamecube in general. I played more Animal Crossing than I care to admit. I had the Game Boy Player for it too, that thing was sweet.Mario Sunshine is my favorite Mario game (second goes to the Mario Worlds) and I usually get a lot of crap about it. Feels weird talking about that franchise now... like looking back at an ex-girlfriend.
original RE4? Before all the re-releases?Mario Sunshine is dope and the only reason to own a GameCube.
Blame Therm for bringing up the Infamous comparison. I based my thoughts on this excerpt from Destructoid's review:I don't really understand how you reach that conclusion with the game not even being released yet. Other than both being open world I don't know why the two games would ever be compared in the first place. I'm excited to give Sunset a spin after reading some reviews. While SSO looks kind of fun from a gameplay perspective, Infamous (primarily the first and second, and the third to a lesser extent) was fun from both gameplay and plot perspectives. The main drawback to this style though is that it can become a bit much, particularly when it comes to the main story. In fact it's not really so much a story as it is a constant string of jokes and references, which hit more than they miss, but leave you with a feeling that something is missing. Before you know it you're back to grinding and blasting like there was no tomorrow, but sometimes it feels like there's no real point to it.
Nope, because of the rereleases you can get that just about anywhere now. You don't need a GameCube to play RE4.original RE4? Before all the re-releases?
but you did originally was my point, only had a gamecube for that... until the re-releasesNope, because of the rereleases you can get that just about anywhere now. You don't need a GameCube to play RE4.
That's part of the reason I stuck to only the PS3 last gen, the good exclusives on the 360 were basically Forza and multiplayer shooters. Everything else either eventually went multiplatform or is available on the PC.Other than maybe Halo I can't think of a single attractive exclusive the XB1 has. Granted I don't follow the system much, but still, a quick look at their exclusives didn't help.
yup. Its only give me the full site.Is the site borked for anyone else on mobile right now?
I wish I could still say this. I agree with the post, but we bought a 360 because my kid begged for a long time for a stupid Kinect game. My wife caved. He of course hardly ever plays it and continues to play LBP 2 more than anything else. For some reason, my idea on getting a second PS3 instead was laughed at.That's part of the reason I stuck to only the PS3 last gen, the good exclusives on the 360 were basically Forza and multiplayer shooters.
