The first game did let you switch loadouts at will as well, just FYI.
I'm not sure if I never knew that or just forgot since playing the first one a few years ago. I would not be surprised if it is the former since I pretty rarely investigate the pause menu and I don't think they ever mention it in the on screen tutorial.

The PS4 Update went fine for me this morning.  Granted, I have a completely stock system, so I would expect for it to go just fine.  I know some wanted to wait for reports from others.

So according to some impressions from the internets, remote play on the PTV is improved, the share play works like a dream, and overall the 2.0 update is the tits.

If it RP works great over WiFi now, then I'd have to consider picking up a PSTV at some point. PSNOT people with PSTVs and 2.0, please report!

Actually misread it, nevermind. It's 30fps. Followed a link from TB's twitter that made me think it was going to say 60fps and then didn't look close enough at this tweet. TB was saying that the Bloodborne dev had been misquoted about 30fps being superior to 60fps.
Ah. I'm sure I wouldn't notice much anyway, but it'd be nice if they could've made it run at 60fps.

As long as it's locked at 30 with no drops I'm happy.

Haha, yeah, I was getting upset at your "sarcasm".
Yeah, apparently that guy was quoted as saying they "haven’t made an official announcement yet but they will probably go for 30fps since that’s what they found to be the best fps (frames-per-second) to play action games.” So the tweet I linked was a correction saying that they were mistranslated and that not all action games feel best at 30fps.

Here's a post that does a good job of explaining what happened with the initial translation:

While I might get Lords of the Fallen later (whether through my library if it gets it or for <$20 through Gamefly/wherever), what is it with developers being unable to write good stories nowadays?

(From GameInformer's review)

First Shadow of Mordor's story was pretty boring, then The Evil Within's plot wasn't very interesting (or at least it functioned as DLC bait), and now LotF? :whistle2:k
Have video game stories ever been good?

Have video game stories ever been good?
1. Spec Ops: The Line

2. Bioshock Infinite (no matter what the haters say)

3. Metal Gear Solids 1-3

4. NIER

5. The Last of Us (yeah, yeah, I know)

6. Braid (in its own way)

7. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

8. Deadly Premonition (in a B-movie kind of way)

9. Binary Domain (also in a B-movie way)

I think I could name a few more, but I feel like stopping,

Beat Bayonetta 2 this morning. It was good but felt a lot shorter than the first one. Maybe I'm crazy. There were 16 chapters but at least a third of them were super short (boss fights, vehicle section). All in all it was marginally better than the first one, which is fine since the first one was so great. The new weapons were cool (I discovered you can switch between two "loadouts" with the press of a button, so my complaint earlier about never wanting to change weapons doesn't really apply). And there were some epic fights, but I didn't feel like anything quite reached the heights of the final boss in the first one (where you're in some sphere in space fighting a giant dude). Haven't tried the co-op game yet, but I'm not sure how fun that could be for a game like this anyway.
The final boss in the original is a giant chick who may or may not be "climaxing" on some of her attacks.

And yeah, the final boss in the original is awesome.

3. Metal Gear Solids 1-3

I played it again last night (destiny, wired connection) and it still works great for me that way.

If I think about it, ill try over wifi on it tonight after I get it updated.

I'll just be sitting here drinking a jar of your tears.
All I ask for is a little god damn solidarity and I can't even get it!
Well last night munky seemed sad so I felt bad. But now he's coming back all cocky, so I re-hate him again.

Ya know what game I've been meaning to really give a shot? Kickbeat. Seems like something that, if I gave it the proper time, I'd probably truly enjoy! Anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy of Kickbeat without having to pay full price?

I'm at 5,105 trophies after last night thanks to Shadow Warrior.  For the first time ever, I have more Trophies than I do Achievements!!!  Suck it Microsoft!

Since I am off today, I am getting some more time in playing.  A buddy of mine was online so we tried Share Play out.  It worked pretty well for Lego Marvel when we tried it out this morning.  It looked just like it does when I play local co-op with my kid.  It will definitely be a great feature for when you need someone to play co-op with you on games with no net setup.

Oh man it would be good for those lego games which inexplicably still don't have online coop.

Except only the host/owner gets the trophies from it, right?

Wanna try Spelunky Shareplay for a bit tonight?
Tonight's probably going to be a The Wire night. That plus the baseball game. And then Wednesday and Thursday nights I have pinball. However I might be able to play Wednesday night as I should get home earlier than I do on Thursdays. If we don't end up watching the Wire tonight I'll send you a message on Kik.

Not for nothing, but have you ever gotten to 100 percent completion?

I look at it and just assume its not 100 percent because you are always working on a new game, in my mind you have never missed a trophy.

Nope. I'm saving that for after Tales of Xillia 2, then I'll play Peace Walker HD and Ground Zeroes before Phantom Pain's release next year.
You will have to let me know what you think when you finish it. Unpopular opinion, but 4 was my favorite. Still need to get around to Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes as well

I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up sharing that opinion. I think I'm already in the unpopular-opinion camp by preferring MGS2 over 3.

I do feel bad, but you guys are just mean and make me feel guilty. More like Terrible Friends Gang.

2 is my least favorite of the 4 numbered games, but they are all so close that the rankings don't mean much for me. I played them all for the first time about a year ago over about 2 weeks. It was a very neat way to go through them and get the whole story all at one time. MGS has a very interesting story if you can follow it

My wife fell asleep on the couch last night, so I got some rare weekday playtime as well.

I also woke her up with a surprise later. Pretty good night.
