IGN's analysis/prediction (spoilered just in case, emphasis added):

The quote in this most recent tease comes from A Storm of Swords, the third book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. The words in question are spoken by an unnamed member of clan Liddle, who live in the hills north of Winterfell. The reference he makes to “squids” refers to Greyjoy’s forces as they come to invade the North. It was Asha of House Greyjoy who spoke the quote in the game’s first tease, which referenced Stannis’ war in the north. This third quote also references that war in two ways. First, it mentions the “flayed men” of House Bolton, who sparked turmoil in the North. Second, the Liddles eventually join with Stannis in his war to win the North.

We were a bit confused about the time period suggested by the quote in the second teaser image, but this mention of the squids and flayed men and trouble in the Wolfswood reinforces our earlier guess from the initial image that the new game will take place in the North and will likely focus on Stannis’s intervention against the Boltons and Greyjoys there. Telltale could still absolutely surprise us, but the content of these clues seems to point very convincingly to a new story set in a familiar setting.

I just do not see a better deal than that at Black Friday. There may be bundles that come out at $400 with a game that would interest you. I guess there is the slimmest of chances that Sony wants to step on MS throat by matching the $350 price tag on bundles, but I would be SHOCKED for them to get in on the price cut race to bottom this early on when they are winning.

I actually wouldn't be surprised to see some retailers offering $50-$100 GCs with PS4s, but it probably won't happen.

From what I'm gathering, no, people didn't know. Initially I didn't understand the backlash - this sort of practice has become standard, right? But what appears to be the difference here is that a substantial piece of content is being given to one platform over another despite the game costing the same on both. I can see why that might piss people off. If it's anything like Dust Palace (the other exclusive strike), lol, they really aren't missing anything, though. Easily the most annoying strike and my team always backs out whenever it comes up on the Tiger playlist.

If all else fails google a program called JRT.exe and get it from a site called thisisdaux.org or something like that. It's a standalone app that I've used that has removed stuff in the past I thought I'd need to re-image the whole computer for. Security Essentials from M$ is pretty good too. Malwarebytes is good but has gone downhill recently with the new interface.

I was hoping for something of similar price, but maybe with a Plus sub or something. No way I'm actually going out shopping on Black Friday, and the chances of me getting one from Amazon are much slimmer with the exclusive window on lightning deals for Prime members.

I'll think about it a little longer. They'll be that price on eBay for 4 more days, provided they stay in-stock.

I guess if a particular retailer wanted to be a loss leader that could happen. The margins just aren't high enough on consoles for them to do that without losing money unless it is a deal from Sony. That is why I think it is unlikely.

With the Xbone already being cheaper, I could see retailers thinking there is an option in that price range already and deciding not to bother losing more on PS4s.

Your question is flawed. It would imply that they actually give a shit about trophies and gave it some thought. If they did, they would have mentioned how it worked when moving your character over. We do not even know if the PS4 will be a separate trophy list yet do we?

 
If you want a cheap ass PS4 just do what I used to do. Flip until it's cheap as shit. I've gotten a lot of things cheap this way, like my macbook air.

Ehh, "DLC" is a bit of a misnomer. I'm sure no one assumed it'd be such a hefty chunk of content (in an already content-deficient game). Anyone who's actually played Destiny will agree. Now whether you sympathize with X1 users is another story, lol.

It was "explained" how trophies would auto-pop in the Vita version of Borderlands 2, but we all know how that turned out. :headache:

It's one strike. That's not a hefty chunk of content. It'll take 15 minutes to play, and then most people will only ever see it if somehow Bungie changes the strike playlist to stop giving the same three strikes. And like people have said, it's been known for a while that PS4 would have exclusive content. Regardless of what that entails, when the exclusive content is announced I feel like you're a pretty big idiot to act surprised. These are also probably people who play the alpha and beta and then when the game released acted like they had no idea what they were getting.

It depends. Strikes vary in length (especially with modifiers at play). The only short one that comes to mind is The Nexus. Maybe Devil Walker? Dust Palace is easily the longest/most varied, and keep in mind that X1 didn't get that either, lol. I'm not taking sides on this - Microsoft uses the same petty tactic. I wish they'd both stop. I'm only pointing out why people are getting so miffed over this instance in particular. Destiny isn't like other games, and strikes aren't just some superficial add-on.

Haha yeah I traded it in before GTA online was even launched.

I'll buy the PS4 version for my permanent collection when it get to around $10 if it does have a separate trophy list. The game is definitely nothing special.

 
You should be able to match the Target B2G1 deal at BB. I've done it before. Wouldn't give you a better deal, really, but it would give reward points and most of us are more likely to have credit at BB.

 
That Anita Sarkesian chick was on Colbert the other night.  She just talked about a bunch of generic fluff.  Colbert even asked her point-blank for examples in games and she just kept talking about nothing.

Snagged an Evolve Alpha that someone posted in the PSN thread.  Not sure I'll even download it but at least I can if I want to now.

EDIT: It's 12 GB, I probably won't download it.

they just sent a mailer out too that has $10 off $150 and 10% off video game software (although I think that coupon is only valid the week after b2g1, will check). you can usually combine up to two target coupons with a print ad deal - they're also doing daily 50% cartwheel deals for toys which may include video game stuff.

was hoping for this though, now I need to figure out what comes out that week and if it'll make sense to cancel whatever at bby.

Speaking of Microsoft and Black Friday, I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a Surface Pro over the holiday provided I find a decent sale. Few months ago I would have never considered it but after spending some time with it I'm sold. A bit pricey, but an incredibly slick device. They really should focus their marketing efforts on products that are actually good, but I'll leave it at that. Not sure if anyone here has any experience with it. Only thing I'm concerned with is the processor being outclassed so quickly, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

 
Trying to justify my PS4 purchase: 

In order to get one for the same price on Black Friday, it'd have to be roughly $336 pre-tax. Like Gator, I don't really see them going that cheap, though I could be wrong. 

The problem is I don't have any games for it yet at all. Maybe if Gamefly has a decent deal on a good game today.

Sometimes I hate my thought processes. I over-analyze everything, and then continually second-guess my decision.  :headache:

Damnit PetenotPete, I was just gonna come here and tell y'all about the 50% off a different toy every day from 11/1 through 12/24 on Cartwheel. You even earn a new badge & offer spot if you redeem one. I havnt heard from the grapevine here if there are any game deals included, but I'll try to find out.
