It took me way less time than I thought it would to catch up on 13 pages of posts since Friday. Only an hour and a half.

That's just this thread. Still have to run through the GS and Japanese niche game threads.  At least they're way less active.

Looks like being away for the weekend cost me on fantasy football. I was hoping it was going to work out but now I'm not thinking it will. Oh well.

There were some cool scenes and the Asian guy with the tattoos was bad ass, but yeah, the ending was really stupid.

Okay, great, they survived but the human race is still fucked.
The apex of the movie is
The fire scene, it's all downhill after that.

I get the allegory of what they were going for, the train as a slice of the American socio-economic structure but it feels kind of forced as it doesn't really seem applicable to the post-apocalyptic scenario. The Conductor speaks of perfect population order and balance to maintain the system, that the reason they keep the lower tier car is for "spare engine parts" via 5-7 year olds, labor, and to periodically cull the population through staged rebellions, but never explains why they need a car full of dancing douche bags or rich people which do nothing to keep homeostasis in balance and purely serve as a drag on the system. Though rich people suck up a disproportionate amount of the wealth they at least serve a function as high level business leaders and invest their money so others can use it to transact business.

I guess maybe the writer of the flim is saying with the ending, though the system itself (IE. the 99 vs. the 1%s) may be horrible, but the sudden upending/destruction of this unfair system may be much, much worse.

How'd you like Delirium? I haven't had it in a while, but I did pick that one up a few times. Good stuff. I didn't like the nocturnum as much, but they were both quite tasty.
Liked it a lot. St Bernardus ABT 12 is still my fav "fancy" beer though. Now we need to post some bad music videos for Stotch.

I have always said Brady is the greatest QB I have ever seen.  Manning is great too but he has always had more weapons than Brady except one year in 2007 and Brady almost went undefeated that year and set the TD record.

Mostly liking Shadows of the Damned so far, other than a few control issues. If you just press X you do a 180 degree quick turn, but if you press a direction + X you do a dodge roll. I almost never need to use the quick turn (since if they approach you from behind you can whack them via a quick time circle button press) but I've lost track of the amount of times I've gone to do a dodge roll, did a 180 turn instead, and the projectile hit me in the back. The camera is also a little too close that if they get up next to you but not RIGHT next to you, you have a blind spot. That's probably a necessity since many of the corridors are quite narrow.

There are also sections where you have to outrun a crazed creature through a dark forest. To see the path you have to quickly stop, aim, and hit lanterns with secondary fire (light shot) to turn them on. You also have to hold the secondary fire to charge it and instead of a light shot it fires a small bomb which you use to clear debris in your way. Several times it took too long for my aim to line up, so I held secondary fire too long so I would fire a bomb instead of a light shot which doesn't trigger the lantern even if you hit it dead on. I could switch weapons to ensure that wouldn't happen, but that takes time too to switch off the one with the bomb and then back to it when you need to clear debris.

The trophy list is pretty perfect as it is a mix of story progression, X kills with all the weapons + each upgrade, and trick shots. It's a shame the difficulty trophies don't stack.  I wouldn't have minded two since the difficulty goes up to keep you engaged, but I have a feeling the 3rd easy playthrough is going to be really boring.

I am a few years older than you I assume, and outside of possibly Montana, no none of those are better. Young was very good, but he did not have the longevity needed to be considered as good as the rest. Granted, most of that was because he was behind Montana, but it is what it is. Elway could never win until he got an outstanding RB to help carry the team. Not to mention, Ill never respect him after his whining about who he would play for coming out of college. Yes, I say the same about Eli. Marino was a great regular season QB but never really had success in the playoffs. He had essentially the same career as Manning without winning the one ring.

I think I've always been biased against Brady because he was just so damn bad at Michigan.

I forgot how annoying the main deals threads are.  That phone thread is almost all questions.  Can I do this?  What about this?  And almost all of them are answered if you read a bit.

Burn, CAG, burn.

Balls. The Best Buy 10 minutes away from me (that I preordered from) isn't going to have the 9PM opening for AW. I wonder if I can place an instore pickup for the store 20 minutes away and still get a copy at 9.

Apparently the Evolve big alpha is now live for PS4 and they are extending it through the 4th at noon PT.
Cool. Gonna get on it then since I can't play any CoD tonight. Anyone here interested?

Nevermind. Too big to download.

Got the GCU extension for a $15 phone deal. Good until 2018 now.

Just have to make another trip to get COD.

Going to watch the Ravens game. Might jump on for a little bit afterward, but probably not for long

I tried holding on to one waiting for one of those extra 3 month deals but had to give up.

And I didn't realize COD was coming out tonight (9 PST, even better than midnight). I saw the signs saying November 3 and figured they meant Monday night, Tuesday morning. Tonight will be the least amount of traffic for me so I might as well head back.

It took me 7 days from beating survival til I beat Akumu, and that's with lots of ghosts and portal 2 between. You should def have it done this week or sooner if you are still rushing to trade it in. If you can beat Ch2 without trouble, you will fly by, and after ch6 it's all pretty much gravy. Just save those magnums/parts.
Actually, for Walmart-flip-related reasons, I'm in need of Gamestop credit more than Best Buy credit right now, so I'll likely be trading in The Evil Within there since they have a guaranteed TIV-promo for $40 through 11/12.

Anybody looking for a cheap way to get BBY Gamer Club Unlocked for $15 check this thread. I just added another 2 years no problem.

I'm so glad this popped up before Tuesday, as I was originally planning on getting the 2-year extension for $30 when I picked up Advanced Warfare then. I'm still picking up AW, but at least this saved me $15.

Plus my account already shows I'm good through 10/4/18! :whee:

Jesus dude, you guys are crazy. There are days I hope I don't live until 2018, I can't imagine having a membership for that long.

When I have ~$700 in Best Buy GCs that I'm not really using right now, I can spare $15 for peace of mind through 2018. ;)

didnt you have like a grand of GS credit? How much of that did you drain for Walmart?

I was in SLC visiting my dying grandfather. I realized I could have met up with Tyler and had some fun with his fwb, but meeting Tyler would have made an already-depressing weekend even worse.
Sorry about your gramps, but fuck you Therm! I am fun! I would have even treated you to Popeye's AND bought you your own drink!

What part of SLC were you in?

First Advanced Warfare review (8/10): http://www.videogamer.com/reviews/call_of_duty_advanced_warfare_review.html

An expert distillation of Call of Duty's core appeals, made fresh again thanks to excellent level design and the inclusion of game-changing exosuits, Advanced Warfare is a return to form for a franchise on the slide. Returning developer Sledgehammer Games has used its elongated development cycle wisely, resulting in the best COD in years. Even the single-player is enjoyable, in its own stupid way. I know.
That's a good sign. :applause:

Just finished Snowpiercer. fuck you guys that wss great. I don't think you need to buy into the implications about society or whatever for it to be enjoyable. It was really well paced and totally kept my interest throuhh the end. I think it's just the nature of hype. When a movie (or game) reviews really well people get so over critical. I thought it was unique and it left me thinking about it. Thats enough for me considering all the shitty movies that come out anymore.
