This is probably just me, but not being able to choose what difficulty I play from the start is a big pet peeve of mine. Especially with rhythm games. I guess it didn't bother me much with the first HM Project Diva game, but having to play all the songs on normal to unlock hard, and then on hard to unlock extreme is kind of a chore when I could easily do them on hard, if not extreme after playing the first game so much. Probably one of the very few things I could really say is a negative about the game though
Won't you need the points from finishing levels to buy all of the shop stuff anyway, though?

Yeah, but you get more points at higher difficulties

When it comes to grinding points, I'll just find an easy song on hard and get perfect over and over with the 4x diva points thing. :p

Then can't you consider the Normal-playing a way of slightly reducing the total points you have to earn?

Vig, normal is just so booooring. You must have a gif for this. I get that I have to do it, and that it earns me some points, but zzzzzzz :p Of course, I would rather play the songs on normal ten times if it meant I didn't have buy the same type of food 100 times to max out how much each person likes me

I'm terrible at rhythm games so I'm okay with that. I think the first few games I had to play on easy. Still need to beat a few of the songs on hard on the original.

You can change the calibration?

Ff update:
With just 2 weeks to go, only 3 teams are eliminated for sure. Thanks to one shitty division, therm and stotch, you guys still have a slight chance
So our East division is the NFC South. And which one between Therm & Stotch is shitty Tampa Bay and which one is shitty Carolina?

So far Dead Island is not bad. First level you play as ninja and stealth kill zombies and slice them up with your katana. 11/10

To everyone asking about Alice, I enjoyed it. Has a great atmosphere to go along with great voice-acting and story. Gameplay is tight and solid, but it's standard platforming and power acquisitions as you progress through levels that everyone in here has seen before. I was actually really surprised by the level of polish, but I played it after going through the first game that it came with so that probably skewed my opinion a little.

Do NOT bother with the first game; time has not been kind to it and it's hard to believe that it was well received by anyone when it was first released.

Why not? It's a mode that they offer and I'm not doing anything extra outside of just playing the game (ie: resetting whenever I get a shitty hand). Totally different things.
If you want to be that literal about it you can, but that's still pretty weak.

At least KZ's mp is fun playing with others online, versus forcing yourself to play Poker Night 2 longer than you had to. To each their own I guess.

I actually still need to finish up Poker Night 2.

I don't see the problem you're having with it. I'm playing the game as intended in both situations.

There's nothing wrong with it if you have fun; I guess I'm just trying to understand your code of trophy hunting. To me, playing bot mode is about the same as boosting. You might not get it done as fast, but there's no challenge to it. You would just be going through the motions same as boosting but against sub-par A.I.

Bot mode has typically always been for when you want to dick around and learn the map or flesh out strategies with teammates. Other than that, it's reserved for people that struggle online or when the community dies.

No, there's no rule that says you have to play that way but that's typically what they're for. The campaign isn't anything special and tends to drag at points so if you don't think you would enjoy the multiplayer then I would pass.

Some of my trophy "rules:"

No glitches, no cheats, no boosting.
A glitch is anything that requires specific, technical steps or is obviously outside of the game design (ie: any infinite health or money glitch).
Cheesing is okay. Workarounds are okay. If there's a spot in a map where I can't get hit and all I have to do to get there is walk to it, that's fair game.
If I can get a multiplayer trophy without actual people but I'm not gaming the system by doing it (ie: boosting), it's fair game.
Setting up games to favor earning trophies is not considered boosting (ie: I need pistol kills so I create a room that only allows pistols to be used).
If I'm letting someone win or they're letting me win, I consider it boosting unless the trophy is just for completing matches.
I don't quit to dashboard or overwrite saves on anything.
There are many grey area situations that are up to my discretion. Things borderline on glitch or not and I'll decide if it is or isn't.
I can watch videos except for puzzle games, although if I'm completely stuck, I'll look up the next step or two. Basically, until I'm stuck and have completely given up, I'll look up the answer to move forward.

I'm sure I have other rules but that's what I have off the top of my head.

Cool, but I still say pass on KZ if that's how you plan on handling the multiplayer. While flawed, it's the only redeeming aspect of the game.

also, I didn't know there was a bot mode in shadowfall. that's great because I couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on when I played it and I'd like to give it a fair shot.

Nice job, Soph, but check out who's still in first in Pro division!

In Novice we are waiting on Blue Arcana, munkywawa, PapiChullo and, of freakin' course, laundrymatt.

Anyone spend some time with Far Cry 4? Man is it pretty. It's gonna be pretty awesome in a few years when that's what games look like all the time. The new villain is pretty great. I might already like him more than Vaas (I kind of thought the praise for him was overblown since he wasn't even in the game much). Grappling hook controls are gonna take some getting used to. Already fell to my death trying to swing over a chasm.

Also put some time into Dragon Age (again, not much), but it is also pretty cool. After much waffling, I went with a Q-word (don't remember what the horned species is called) Mage. Decided to mix it up as I almost always go with warrior-type in these kind of games. Combat is greatly improved from the first one (which I guess is obvious). Never put much time in the second to make a comparison.

Lego Batman Update:  The 100% stuff has a LOT to do.  I was worried by how many gold bricks I had remaining and I was correct in my assumptions.  There is a ton of things you have to do with little mini fetch missions and puzzles.

There are flying races like in Lego Marvel as well.  So far they have been much shorter than the ones in Marvel.  The flying controls are pretty much the same garbage as before.  It would be much easier but some idiot decided it would be a good idea to do the Mario Galaxy rip off of tiny circular worlds like so many others have done since that game came out.  That actually makes the flying slightly more frustrating since as you move forward flying the planet surface is moving away from you due to the curve of the planet.  If you have to fly down you have to do it even faster since it is going to be even lower than your current path.

These planets also make for camera craziness.  You get the TellTale effect of if you press the stick in one direction and the scene changes you better keep pressing in the same direction (even when it doesnt make sense anymore) or let go of the stick wait for the camera to correct and push a new direction.

I kept wondering why I did not have any way to buy vehicles since I kept unlocking many of them as I went along.  The final planet apparently is nothing but vehicle missions.  I am not looking forward to that if it has the shitastic flying controls for planes from the last game.

None of the stuff has been hard so far, there is just so much of it to go through is all.  Kind of your standard Lego game really.  I could do without the motion sickness from the camera wonkiness in this one though.

At this point I kinda wish they'd take a year or two off and revamp the LEGO game engine. Improve the controls and what not. Luckily for me LEGO Batman 2 was my first LEGO game, so I'm not sick of the formula yet.

One thing I mean to ask is this; is there still the delay when switching characters and auto-saving during co-op freeplay? This is kinda annoying; grab a gold brick, and wait 5 seconds or so until you can finally switch back to a flying character to go after the next one. Sit and wait while my kid switches characters. One of the biggest improvements they could make in my opinion would be allowing one player to pause and the other be able to keep playing/being able to switch characters at the same time, etc.

As far as the save delay, yep, it is still there. I have been frustrated quite a few times where I try to press triangle after collecting something to switch to my other character to fly away just to have it do nothing.

In terms of the players switching, I can not really comment since my kid abandons me as soon as story mode is over.
